Favourite place!”

After almost 15 year absence from Gili Trawangan, my wife and I decided to re visit the island. We found the island more "civilized" but still charming and fun as ever. Pondok Santi was recommended by a friend, and our experience since the first day arriving was excellent.. the spacious garden strike us immediately upon arriving, and we loved it as it reminded us of properties of days-past in Bali. We stayed at the 1-bedroom with pool Villa, both types of villa, and both were awesome. Clean, comfy, and private, which is exactly what we were looking for. The pool area is simply amazing..so much that we spent an entire day by the pool, in the pool, and only went out for dinner!! The staff was warm and professional, and don't get fooled by the simple reception desk, as it performed well to our needs and requests. As Indonesians or "locals" often times we experience less then cordial services compared to foreign guests, so we are used to the treatment. But in Pondok Santi we experienced very little of this, and as the days of our stay progressed, the staff and workers were indeed excellent and attentive. We had such a good time, and decided to extend our stay, where i booked our extension through the net but put in the wrong dates. The manager of Pondok Santi noted this and through a staff member informed me that the hotel will sent notice through Agoda (where i made my booking) that for this case they are willing to offer refund. I thought this was an amazing level of understanding and very humane approach, and to offer such a thing based on my clumsiness without being asked, was just top notch. I would like to thank the manager of Pondok Santi for this, kudos! Will be coming back for years to come.

Amazing”

We stayed at Pondok Santi for 5 nights and the place is amazing. We arrived by fast-boat from Bali which takes around 2 hours. We decided to walk to the hotel from the jetty but in hindsight we should have taken a horse-drawn taxi instead of wheeling our cases in the heat (note there is no motorised vehicles on the island). On arrival we received a refreshing welcome drink and cool towel to freshen up then shown to the bungalow, wow !! Main room has 4 poster bed with mosquito net, large ceiling fan, air con, mini bar, TV &DVD, the front of the bungalow has a large day bed so you can sit and relax, bathroom is outside at the back of the bungalow with a lovely shower. The estate does not have a restaurant or bar, but does serve breakfast with a good selection on offer.The estate does have some lovely restaurants within walking distance so this was never an issue.The mini bar in the room is also well stocked with alcohol & soft drinks / water everyday. The facilities at the estate are fantastic. The pool is newly built and very large surrounded by loungers and sheltered day beds. Within the grounds numerous hammocks and day beds to relax on and if you want to be a bit more energetic they have a badminton / volleyball net, 2 swings & rugby posts. The private beach is lovely and located just across the road from the entrance again with plenty of loungers, day beds and hammocks. The estate has its own private boat which you can go out on snorkelling trips and sunset cruises. We managed to book the boar privately which was a great experience, we snorkelled with turtles and island hopped between Gili Air and Meno, stopping for a spot of lunch along the way. The staff at the estate are so friendly and helpful and will always make time to stop and have a chat. We must say that they are like one big family and you can tell they all love working there. An Oasis in Gili T!”

Pondok Santi was an oasis in Gili Trawangan, just close enough to all the go-to restaurants but far away from the noise. It really was the highlight of our honeymoon trip! It is an expansive estate with only 6 villas so the experience was extremely peaceful. The villas are simple and charming, with strong air conditioning and a luxurious outdoor shower/toilet. The owners and staff were very helpful and friendly, greeting you with smiles at every encounter. Complimentary breakfast was delicious - complete with juice, fruit, pancakes, omelets and best butter I had in Bali. We also went snorkeling for the day on their boat for $55/person which was a great way to spend the morning, it even stopped at Gili Air for a hour to enjoy more quiet island life. Pondok is definitely the best hotel on the island and I would 100% return when back in Gili! A truly wonderful place to stay and the cherry on top of an already great honeymoon getaway.

Beautiful Establishment”

We stayed a night at the Bungalow with private pool. It's our first time in Gili Trawangan so we are hopping around a few places to get a feel of the island. Pondok Santi Estate is a beautiful place. The whole setting of the place gives us the feeling of island paradise. The lush green trimmed grass, well placed coconut trees, the pagoda huts, your own private beach space and the ever warm hospitality of the staffs. The bungalow with pool is awesome, perfect for honeymoon couples. Other than the bugs getting into the pool, it's just perfect! Oh, maybe putting a net with a long handle for occupants to scoop the bugs that got lost in the pool will be great. We will come back, the next time surely much longer. Thank you for the memories.

Relaxation at its finest”

Overall a very wonderful stay at Pondok Santi. The villa was a bit away from the center of Gili Trawanga, less than 10 min bike ride away. We found the location quite wonderful, close enough to the action but you can come home for a peaceful night sleep. Because it is a bit further from the center of the island, you get a wonderful ocean breeze throughout the day. The private beach amenities were amazing. It was fully equipped with bungalows, beach chairs and hammocks. Unfortunately, the island of Gili Trawanga wasn't swimmable. The bottom of the ocean was completely lined with corals, making it very difficult to stroll into the water. However,with the wonderful beach facility provided by Pondok Santi, we were still able to relax. The staff at Pondok Santi were amazing and super friendly. We wanted to sleep outside at the bungalows and the staffs made the arrangements without hesitation. The only problem we encountered was losing wifi connection in the evening.

Great service, awesome hut with outdoor shower!”

One of the best stay in a while. Best place to chill. First time in Gili Trawangan, besides its sunset and snorkelling, I can't say I like this place. But thank god for Pondok Santi, I can just stay inside the estate away from the noise. The service staff was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was simple but great. I just can't get enough of the huge garden!

Favorite hands down”

We are avid users of Agoda. We do thorough research every time we book on Agoda, analyzing all comments left by others. I can tell you hands-down that Pondok Santi Estate was one of THE best choices we've made yet on Agoda. It's the perfect distance away from the loud craziness in the center of town. We basically just rode our bikes everywhere...hotel rents them out at $5 per day per bike. The bungalows were fantastic...bed super comfortable, air condition worked fine. Wifi was great quality. The outdoor bathroom was quite the nice touch. Food was EXCELLENT. Staff was incredibly nice and attentive. I seriously can't think of anything negative about our experience there.

Exceptional”

We still love Pondok Santi even though their service standards aren't as good as last year. They were able to cater to our special dietary needs well last year. We were very impressed with their vegan food last year. This time, breakfast main was really quite a letdown. We are not motivated to dine in their resort for lunch and dinner at all. What could have happened within a year for such extreme experience. I sincerely hope their Chefs work on being more knowledgeable and sincere in catering to guests with different dietary needs. Overall, their service standards (not just the F&B) have fallen short of expectations. I believe Pondok Santi is still the best resort in Gili T. I would still stay here again.

The best place on the gili islands - perfect honeymoon hotel”

My wife and I stayed for part of our honeymoon travelling around Bali. Pondok was by far the best hotel we stayed in.. even better then the 5 star luxury hotel we stayed at in seminyak! It is a true paradise. The whole experience was incredible, the food, the staff, the room, the grounds, the princess Margo.. it was faultless. Pondok santi estate is the only thing I would ever come back to Bali for!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ”

We stayed at Pondok Santi for 5 nights and I couldn't be happier with the value for money. Firstly the staff are absolutely amazing, super helpful, accomodating and resourceful in helping for any questions you had. The little hut itself was very clean and had all utilities that you required. The food at Pondok would have had to be some of the best food I've ever eaten, I highly recommend eating at the Santi Lounge (especially the chocolate brownies- to die for) and I especially loved waking up too the 'Welcome juice' and breaky in our lounge. I have all positive things too say about Pondok and not one negative comment. You can hire bikes for 50,000 rupiah a day and that will get you around the island. Highly worth the money you pay for!! Can't wait to return :) Special Thanks to all the staff at Pondok for making our stay so pleasant and enjoyable!

Our 2nd Stay in 1 Year”

We love Pondok Santi. It's our 2nd stay within a year. We were excited about "returning home". The facilities and everything about the property are still great. It's a beautiful and clean property. However, the service standard and food quality have room for improvement. The F&B team ought to work on their knowledge on special diets and expand their menu to cater to guests with special dietary needs. We were so happy with our vegan meals last year. We looked forward to the breakfast every morning last year. During this trip, we were very disappointed with the food quality. For massage, remember to specify that you want the massage bed with a hole to rest your face comfortably when you lie on your tummy. We were assigned a normal bed in one of their pavilions which would be too uncomfortable lying on our tummy for 60min. We cancelled the massage and wasted our day. On a happier note, we had an enjoyable yoga session with Marki, the yoga instructor. Highly recommended.

Amazing hotel in an amazing place”

All I have to say is that if I come to Gili island again, I have no doubt to choose Pondok Santiago again. The experience we had while staying there is so good and we simply have no comments except praises. Super nice pool villa with a beautiful outdoor shower area. The porch is so nicely designed that we had breakfast there on morning and took a nap on the bed there one afternoon. We always hang out at the public pool side and enjoy their delicious food and cocktails. I wish to come back again. Great location (far from noisy party area yet a walking distance to harbor and sunset watching area. Staff are friendly, number of total guests are limited as there are only 12 villas in a huge estate area. We enjoy the privacy and exclusively of this hotel.

Intimate and beautifull grounds”

I stayed in Pondok Santi for two nights and it was amazing. Beautifull surrounding and rooms were settled on coconut plantation. Breakfast on our verandah everymorning, was limited but great. Room was spacious and promoted eco friendly living. Aircon was a bit on warm side, but with fan, we made do. Outdoor shower was amazing, looking at the moon while showering. Water pressure and temperature was amazing. If u want internet, forget it, was always in and out and frustrating when checking emails. Private beach made up for that though as it was easily best beach for any Gili T resorts. Managers and staff were a treat. Friendly and helpfull and always willing to have a chat. Staff even arranged for boats and transfers back to Lombok, made it lot easier. Location was amazing, close to the action and yet far enough away from backpacking crowds. Real treat and luxurious resort with an eco/traditional feel. Would definitely return

favourite place to relax..”

Excellent comfortable stay.. far enough away from the bars for peace and quiet but close enough to walk anywhere. all inclusive breakfast provided on the most perfect private little beach or anywhere you like. Nothing is a problem. Wifi access available everywhere, including the hammocks on the Beach! Fresh local coffee!! request a coconut from the tree when your thirsty. Only 5 or 6 separate 6star style bangalows on a huge section and even have their own private Boat for Cocktails at sunset! I stay in all kinds of accomodation, from 5star resorts to dirt cheap hostels.. Pondok Santi is my favourite!

Perfect”

A beautiful location, exceptional and friendly service, clean, laid back - really just perfect! It's not cheap and I am sure you will find more affordable places on the island but Pondok Santi offers the whole deal without an ounce of pretence. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful”

From the moment we arrived at pondok we were made feel so welcome. A thorough induction and information about the area was given. All staff so friendly and always remembered us. Food and drinks PHENOMENAL. Throughout our travels in Bali we had come to the conclusion that nowhere, no matter what kind of bar/restaurant made nice cocktails. That is until we chanced pondok. Every cocktail was delicious. Our room and the grounds were so well kept, pool and restaurant was beautiful. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Gili twangan.

Amazing hotel in a great location”

We stayed in Pondok Santi for 2 nights post spending 4 nights in Bali. This is where we felt our honeymoon truly began. The place has a very relaxed atmosphere just like the island as a whole. The staff were very friendly. Special thanks to Georgie who went out of her way to ensure we were very comfortable and had a lovely honeymoon.

It was perfect, all was so so good, i love staying there, the people so nice, the room lovely, the best bathroom ever! The food and drinks were perfect! And the most beautiful gardennn, fantastic view! I super recommend pondok santi

Fantastic accommodation - best on Gili T”

We couldn't have been happier with the Pondok Santi. It was in a great spot - not far away from the action but not too close that it was loud or uncomfortable. Great value for money on food. Villa with private pool is definitely the way to go! Loved it.
