Feels like being in a family with privacy”

We arrived to be met by the friendly and helpful owner. Our family room was clean and well kitted with what we needed for our 1 night stay. The shared bathroom facilities was right across our bedroom door and there were ample facilities that even at full occupancy there was no waiting period to use the clean facilities. We were treated to a nice surprise with a hearty soup and bread at night which seems to be a usual. The included breakfast was a good start to the day with a special warm porridge, freshly brewed coffee, juice and even gluten free and dairy free options to compliment the freshly baked muffins and other cereals. Should we visit Picton in future, we will gladly stay there again.

A bit of kindness in very troubled times”

A lot was going on due to Covid-19 and my travel plans were changing every two hours. Piwaka lodge felt like a haven of peace were I could try to figure things out. Thanks for everything!

Had an exceptional time here in Picton. Staff are amazing and friendly. Lots of snacks and goodies provided. Homely atmosphere with several interesting hikes nearby. I extended my stay here for three nights and will definitely come back again in the future. 10/10 experience here.

Piwaka - Awseome Accomodation”

Thanks to all the staff at the Piwaka. It feels like a home away from home. Great location, very clean, free breakfast and the occasional dinner. Very happy with my stay here.

Best in Picton”

Free parking space at the back of the lodge. Love Nicci's home-made breakfast porridge which she makes in some days. Other days is bread, cornflakes, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, hot choc, cookies. However my bed wasn't very comfortable as the foam mattress sinks down in the middle.

arrived tired and hassled from getting away from christchurch grey day to a warm welcome and own room to fall into sleep soundly refreshed and recharged witb excelkent self serve continental breakfast plus muffin to butter and jam kept me going for morning tea on ferry

Pay a little more for much better!”

On arrivel you get a whole tour where you can find what, such a nice host! Good room a big shower where you need to cleen the floor after the shower.. I had a person in front of me who didn't clean it. That was my only bad experience... Where the host nothing on can do.

Comfortable”

Very clean...comfortable bed....good value...our room was at the end next to the highway so it was a bit noisy. Continental breakfast very basic but fine. Overall exactly what you pay for so no problems.

I love the vibe in this hostel, very nice deco and clean bathroom with heating available WOW! I fall in love with the cute parrot dancing to any song it likes and yummy breakfast!

Nightmare !!!”

Before I book this place, I already mentioned in agoda that I will be check in late. However, My ferry has delayed. At the first moment I entered the lobby, the owner said that I SHOULD NOT LET YOU IN ! He said his wife has emailed me that they reject my stay. But I didn’t receive it at all. I just receive the booking confirmation from agoda. Ok fine. My booking through agoda is only nzd 28.80. But he want me to pay nzd 35 because I’m late !!! I was staying in 5 person mixed dorm. In their official website, this 5 person mixed dorm only nzd 32. Ok that’s fine too. After I make payment, he pointed on me said that is me insist want to stay here and told me that I cannot shower. That’s so funny. I paid so much money just for a bed? I rather to sleep on the car. Please avoid this place if you plan to check in late. Plus, the owner is so rude! I feel so sad about this place.

주인분들 친절하셨고 픽톤근처였는데 깔끔하고 괜찮았어요 다만 혼자 방을 써서 괜찮았던 거 같고 방이 작은편이었어요 샤워실에 뜨거운 물도 잘나왔습니다 다만 조식이 포함이어서 약간 기대했는데 우유 시리얼 머핀 크루아상 식빵 이렇게 나왔어요 단촐했어요 머핀크기도 좀 작았는데 맛은 있었어요
