Good hostel”

Phoenix 74 is located in backpacker's area therefore a lot of cheap food nearby. The room is clean and in good condition. Near minimarts. It has a lift. However during our stay, the hot water didnot work

Old hotel”

phoenix hotel is very conveniently located in the backpacker district. lots of bars and restaurants just outside the hotel. the noise doesn't bother me, but the hotel itself does. elevator is really old and i think it has been years since it was swept clean. worst thing is the bathroom; it stank even though i didn't use it yet. the smell seemed to come from the pipes. their wifi also didn't work, even though i emphasized to the staff that it's my number 1 consideration. will not stay here again despite the cheap price.

Right where the action is”

You are in the middle of the busiest block in HCM. Surprisingly the room blocked out most of the noise from the festivities happening below. Will say the room doesn't match the picture but for price its a good deal if you want your own room and aren't too fussy.

Ok ”

its ok for that price and convenient location with a lot of bars and clubs. The hotel is 7 mins from the bus station to the airport. I was on the 4th floor. it was quite noisy outside at night however if you close all windows it is not a big deal. I'm not sure how it is on another floor. Besides, the room was humid that made me a little bit uncomfortable. The wall was slight stained at some corners. There wasnt enough hot water for us. If you are looking for cheap place to stay during short time with a good and interesting location it is recommended

Party hotel at party street”

This small hotel is only suitable for party animals, the loud music from the surrounding pub can last until 5am. I am ok with it even loud music, i sleep without any problems for 4 nights, no facilities, just a basic room with air con. Good enough for a good night rest. If you like sound proof type of environment, please stay away from this party street, most hotel in this street will be the same.. Loud musuc throughout the night.

Solo Traveler”

This place is definetly better than many other places. There's a little cute cafe/lounge in the lobby area of the hotel. It's a very different atmosphere compared to the other restaurant/ hotels. If you're passing through for a few days and would prefer to have a single room, I'd recommend this place.

The single room wasn't bad”

This place is probably better than most places, especially for the location and price. I stayed there twice. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through for 2-3 days.

We stayed at this hotel many times during the five last years. It's perfectly situated in the middle of the Pham ngu Lao backpackerarea. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are large and clean. The breakfast is nothing to write home about but I guess it's the same in all the hotels around this area. Better to have a pho on the roadside

Hotel is directly on the party street so... extremely loud. Normal sleep is possible first after 2.30am Perfect place for party travelers

Good Location”

This budget hotel is nice to stay in if you think that the only thing that matters is location and cleanliness. It's a little run down as most of the hotels in this area but the staff is friendly and helpful.

hotel with a good position nothing else more”

when i arrived in the hotel at 11am i thought nice position, later they gave me the bedroom that wasn't cleaned. For me wasn't a problem because i wanted just leave the luggage and go around. The guy said me that they clean it later. I came back at 4pm and the bedroom was ready and another one guy, said me we will clean it. When i came back at 6 he told me sorry but i can't clean it because the housekeeper was go home at 3pm and so we clean it gain tomorrow. I said that i understand that they had a mistake but the dirty wasn't mine so if they change the towel and the blankets and the pillow it's ok. he need 1/2 hour to change it. In that time i thought , maybe i lucky and in so much time he clean a bit too. When i receive the key and i gone in the bedroom i saw that maybe he have change the bedding but he leaved 3 empty bottle and a dirty ashtray that if he done it, just in 1 minutes could change the happeal of the bedroom. The bedroom was not to bed also if too much noise arrive from the street nightlife but the service was bad.

small hotel with great location and easy to go anywhere,was perfect to stay as backpaker and couple, the street attraction and shop were never sleep, crowded place especially evening! Not recommended for who loved quite place!

Why the owners and managers of this hotel are neglecting the basic hotel facilities and services, I cannot understand. The young staff personnel are very helpful, but the basic facilities and services, towels, soap, linen, air-conditioning, cleanliness and general appearance of the rooms are noticeably neglected by the owners or managers.

Good location, dirty room”

on arrival the room seemed nice and clean. after a couple of hours the bathroom smelled so bad of mold. there were tiny black ants crawling all over the walls, floor and beds! and my sister was "attacked" by the largest cockroach i have ever seen. other than that the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was in a great location.

Value for money, just noisy because of the clubs and pubs ”

If you're looking to live in the heart of the liveliest street, look no further. Clean and value for money. They even have a lift! The only downside was that our water heater wasn't working. Otherwise it'd have been perfect!

Phoenix 74 no intention of staying there again”

I rate this hotel a 4.0 out of 10. Was greeted by a desk clerk who was wrongly of the opinion that I had no reservation. Arrived at approximately 5:45 PM, room was not ready. Staff friendly but not always helpful. Room did not have the cable TV it was supposed to have. I requested it on admission when we went to the room. No TV ever provided. Stool lid and seat not securely fastened to the base. Upon checkout desk clerk was of the opinion (wrongly) that I had been there 8 days instead of 7. My deporture delayed while he figured out I had only been there 7 days. I have stayed in 7 hotels in the HCMC area. I rate this one as the lowest quaility of the 7. I have no intention of staying in this lodging place again.

Reasonable price , good location and easy to go for sightseeing in the centre
