Fabulous hotel close to the airport”

d'oreale grande @empoerors palace hotel is sensational. take the courtesy shuttle bus from the hotel and in 5-10 mins you are being dropped off at the hotel. we were there this christmas. the hotel had made the hotel's grounds into a magical wonderland for family's to celebrate christmas. staff were brilliant, food was fabulous, location next to the airport & everything you want in a hotel. if you like casino's, there is one next door.

Excellent customer Service”

We had a great stay at the hotel. Great customer service, starting with a free upgrade to the 5th floor with a pool view without even requesting such an upgrade. Attentive staff, super clean rooms, good security and great breakfast. We just stayed in a 5 star hotel in Hamburg Germany and I must say we were proud of the standard of D'oreale Grande which in fact were even better.

Fabulous ”

We were looking for a hotel near OR Tambo airport and were really pleased we chose here. Everything was splendid and I don't think I could reasonably find anything to grumble about. The facilities and staff were of the highest calibre, especially the staff. I will certainly stay here again when next in Johannesburg. (This was our first visit to South Africa and I hope to return fairly soon, maybe to watch the rugby)

D'Oreale Grande, JNB”

The D'Oreale Grande is a five star hotel with a swimming pool, SPA, lounge area and good restaurant. The staff are courteous and knowledage and go out of their way to assist. I would liken it to a casino resort since it is attached to a casino which has a wide variety of gaming facilities such as roulette, blackjack and slot machines. It also has a cigar and cocktail bar called Marc Anthonys which has an excellent range of cigars that can be smoked in the bar. The best rate was offered by Agoda and I used this service twice over the past 3 weeks.

5-star hotel nearest to Tambo airport ”

This hotel is clean and the breakfast spread is sumptuous and delicious. Many dining and entertainment options as this hotel is located within Emperor Palace premises which is a huge casino and entertainment complex. Will stay in this hotel again when I’m back in J’burg.

Fantastic!”

We wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the high quality of the hotel. The decoration is fantastic. The service is anything and everything we could expect from a 5 stars hotel. The bedroom made us feel at home away from home, it is very nice. And the best of all the members of the staff were friendly, helpful and always tried their best to please our needs and expectations. The food and service at the restaurant are simply wonderful. To top it up there is the straight access to the casino from the hotel. We will recommend this hotel to any one going to Johannesburg, no doubt. Congratulations!!!

Airline conference”

Stayed at the hotel for a week around an airline conference help at the nearby convention center. Great place. Small but very nice and clean rooms. Nice pool. Gym is kind of small and not very well equipped though. Very convenient shuttle to/from airport every 20'. My favorite place at OR Tambo airport.

Excellent from start to finish”

The breakfast is as good as we have had anywhere and we are very well travelled. The room was adequate for the price as was the bathroom. Complimentary wi-fi was a great bonus. The hotel is trying very hard to improve its rating on internet hotel review sites. The extremely helpful and pleasant staff will ensure that occurs. A casino, bearing a remarkable resemblance to Caesars palace in Las Vegas, with 18 eating places is a 100 metre stroll from the foyer. We couldn't fault this hotel during two one night stays.

Good hotel in a nice resort”

One of the hotels located inside the Emperors Palace Resort. From the hotel you can walk to the nearby food court, that includes several types of cuisine (international, seafood, US, African, Portuguese, etc.). Also includes a huge casino. The Aurelia restaurant of the hotel proposes a very nice buffet breakfast. The staff is helpful, competent and smiling. No security issue inside this resort. The airport shuttle leaves every 20 minutes, and reaches the airport in a few minutes only, as the resort is quite close from the airport, which is convenient.

Very good facility but systematic problems”

I would stay at the D'oreale again but I must caution that the hotel is not ell run. The staff, generally speaking is very thoughtful and helpful, but there is a lack of management guidance. The outdoor swimming pool is the best in Joburg and possibly South Africa but suffered from severe under staffing. Once guests left their chaise lounges, towels were never replaced which left guests sitting sideways on loungers trying to wave down non existent pool staff. There are literally no plugs (with or without adapters) for computer or chargers in the rooms with the exception of one on the bottom corner by the bed that housekeeping uses for hovering. The rooms are nicely decorated but the plug situation is bad. I have an American adapter that would not fit in any outlet should I decide to unplug a lamp, the exception being the one on thf floor board by the bed.

Lovely Hotel, Nice sized Rooms and Great Service, ”

Stayed over for one night. Great Location near the airport. casino right next door for entertainment. Great relaxing spa treatment at an affordable price. Staff friendly and helpfull. Lovely relaxing ambience around the pool area, makes you feel that you away from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg. Overall great stay.

A nice spot to rest up during transit”

Great stay with my wife while transiting on the way to Mozambique. We always stay at one of the Emperors Palace hotels when we travel thru Jnb

Perfect , enjoyed ourselves ”

This our 2nd time in D'Oreale Grande and we had a pleasurable time. The service was of high standard with friendly staff. Room Service was quick and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of entertainment and restaurants within the hotel compound and we felt really safe. Next time we visit SA we will choose the same hotel again.

SUNNY,HAPPY AND AMAZING”

I loved the idea of being fasttracked to my room booking via the clubroom on the 5th floor.Having all my needs seen to made me feel so special and I realised and appreciated that at Emperors all are treated in this way,no matter their wealth status.My dream is to one day treat my grandsons to a stay in one of the executive suites.

Opulent rooms but disappointing service”

Though the hotel impresses at first glance, both the nights that I stayed at the D'oreale Grande were rife with being let down by the staff. Far from courteous, they were slow to respond, unwilling to accommodate even the smallest requests such as getting the room ready for check in by 1:30 PM (official time is 2). Water that should've been complimentary was provided after repeated requests at 6 PM. What saves the hotel from its staff is the sheer grandeur of the hotel as well as the attached 'Emporium' that includes the casino and the theatre spaces.

Good Airport Hotel”

The D'Oreale is a good option for anyone staying near the airport that just needs a place to stay for the night. The rooms are clean and new feeling, the staff was friendly and there are a number of restaurants within the hotel/casino complex. If you have more time to spend than just an overnight by the airport however, I would recommend you go elsewhere.

HIGH QUALITY HOTEL IN THE AIRPORT AREA”

THIS WAS MY SECOND STAY AT THIS FIVE STARS HOTEL. THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD (BREAKFAST AND DINING), AS WELL AS THE CASINO NIGHTLIFE MAKE IT A PERFECT LOCATION FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE IN TRANSIT FOR A FEW NIGHTS. VERY CONFORTABLE WITH A FRIENDLY STAFF. IN GENERAL THE PRICE IS MUCH LOWER THAN ANY OTHER HOTEL OF THE SAME CLASS IN JOHANNESBURG.

True 5 Star Luxury”

On the 24th April 2014 we checked in and to our surprise we were very kindly upgraded by Mr Sabelo Tywakadi to the Club Room Floor! When I thanked him and told him it was our 33rd wedding anniversary he orchestrated another surprise for us, on our return to the room we were greeted with champagne and rose petals! In the club room we were also treated with champagne and a R200 gambling voucher - wow! A memorable stay - thank you to the Grande and Sabelo!
