Comfortable and Clean”

My stay was pleasant. Seberang Perai is on the mainland and on your first trip to Penang you might like to stay on the island where there are more things to do and places to visit. On another visit, for a different experience, Pearl View Hotel would be a good alternative. The buffet breakfast is great and for your other meals, the hawker food just down the street from the hotel is fabulous. Penang local fare like fried koay teow, lobak, etc is easily available and of a high standard. The hotel is clean, staff members friendly and it's centrally located for the area. The hotel has spacious car parks.

Lovely hotel with pleasant staff”

Pearl View is a very clean and comfortable place to stay. It is well-managed by friendly and efficient staff who are both polite and courteous, both at the reception and also car-park entrance. The hotel is located within walking distance to the food courts and restaurants at Chai Leng Park, so there is no necessity to drive around to look for places to eat. It is a value-for-money hotel.

Pleasant and satisfactory”

My stay at Pearl View Hotel was a pleasant one. We couldn't find a hotel in Penang Island so we had to look for one nearby. The location of this hotel is quite near to the Penang bridge. Just less than 5 minutes drive from the hotel. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory. Mostly are asian food with little western choices.

conveniently located city hotel”

Pearl View is located along the main street in Butterworth, from the shopping mall headed towards the Bus/Train Terminal Complex. Therefore, there is no difficulty in getting a bus or a taxi to travel around town. It is also right next to a commercial area which hosts variety of banks, shops, restaurants, market and so on. The hotel in itself is a bit run down, probably maintenance has not been too great. Quite pricey as compared to other hotels in the vicinity, but the price is well justified by its location. Staff are friendly. Food is average. I would just stay in this hotel, and walk out to the nearby restaurants or stalls for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the famous signature shops such as Asam Pedas Chicken Rice and Pelita Nasi Kandar are within walking distance.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They can speak very well English. The hotel is closed to some hawker centre that are selling very delicious foods. Highly recommend for those travellers who love to try Penang local foods. The room is clean but a bit old, however, I am very such I will book this hotel again in my next visit to Penang.

Great location near ferry terminal”

Nice and clean superior room.Warm welcome by hotel receptionist.A few minutes drive to Penang island across Penang Bridge.At night you can enjoy the best Charles Kuey Tiau mee at Sungai Dua closed at about 2 am.Mee Udang (Prawn mee) also famous here.The hotel under renovation and let enjoy staying here. Hope to come again

All i can says, the hotel gives us comfort with the room that satisfied us. It just, the service by front line need more be friendly. The food when we having breakfast there, nice & delicious. Thank you chef & all the staff for F&B are very diligent & committed. Overall, we do satisfied & will stay there when we go to Penang again. Thank you.

Badly trained front office staff”

No greetings, at least say hi when you check out, no smile or at least show friendly face. They unable to provide the room type that i booked (payment made), telling me the booking is subjected to room availability and yet they refused to cancell my booking. No manager on duty to handle my complain. I received the following msg at 10:30am, could the management use a gentle way or better sentense to remind their guest? Dear guest, This is Pearl View Hotel. Kindly be informed that our official check out time is by 12 noon. If check out after the time, hotel will automatically charge additional RM30 per hour without any further notice. For further assistance please contact hotel again. Thank you.

Staff service was really bad”

The room is clean and I'm pretty much satisfied with the whole ambiance of the room. It's cozy and the king size bed is really comfortable. It's quiet as well which is the most important factor for me. Personally, no complaints for the room. However, the service of the staffs is extremely terrible. They have very poor command of English and difficulty understanding what I needed e.g. room location and view, wifi password for each mobile devices/laptops, and etc. I am a Malaysian btw, and I speak Malay pretty well. But I chose to speak in English to test them. Honestly, the staffs are not well trained from the way they present themselves in both aspects of service and attitude. This is something Pearl View Hotel management needs to look into it seriously.

Ok and comfy”

It's a bit backdated compared to the newest ones... but I do stay in this hotel waaaayy back in 2005-2006. Room is spacious. Nice upper level (5th & 6th Floor) parking lot. Covered. The only drawback is the TV channels and receptions. Food? - You don't complain foods in Penang & Seberang Jaya vicinity. Food is everywhere, anywhere. No joke.

Exceptional”

Value for money considering its the cheapest suite bedroom available in Seberang Jaya. Got problem with the aircond which not too cool even after switching room, but overall if u are looking for large room with the bed plus living area, this is the cheapest and good option.

Room with no window”

I have stayed in Pearl View couple of times but I booked directly. Booking via Agoda, I found out that the room i booked didn't have a window. And if I want a room with window, I will have to pay extra. That was quite a let down. Other than that, the hotel is OK.

Good Hotel at 3-stars”

The good: front desk is efficient and accommodating, cafe service is excellent and friendly, security is friendly and present, rooms are in good condition (3-stars), clean. At 3-stars, this is a good hotel The not so good: hotel was under-renovation so the lovely roof top cafe was not open - this is a highlight of this hotel and during cool evenings the vantage point of this cafe affords quaint views of the less developed mainland of Penang state. Food choices in the lobby cafe is limited. There is also some odd building design in regards to the hotel lifts - 5th floor rooms start with "6". The lifts also open directly to the car-park on most floors which is not classy at all - if one wants to be fussy :)

Convenient location for business traveller ”

It was a pleasant stay where I can get delicious Penang local food just within walking distance. The room is well equipped and you can have a nice view of Penang bridge and Penang island. If you want to go for shopping, 2 shopping malls are within 5 minutes drive away from the hotel.

Hotel clean, good location, near good hawker food”

Hotel room is clean and have a good breakfast. The location of hotel is easy access to industrial area and close to Penang bridge and ferry to Penang island. Nearby have a good hawker food and also close to Seberang Jaya which have a new shopping mall.

Older hotel”

The room was quite old, the bathtub's water spout is missing (there's a hole in the wall where it used to be) and there's hair leftover from previous guest in several places. They put a really dated bed cover on top, but the sheet underneath is clean. I feel that it's better to not have the bed cover there at all. The room has adequate lighting and we had the view to Penang bridge. There are plenty of food options around the hotel, and that is the best part of this hotel.
