      Perfect vacation escapade”

Inviting location, very private, lush tropical setting, staff is beyond helpful

Pearl farm resort is nestled in Samal island Davao city. From Manila. From the Marina, we took a 45-minute boat ride to reach the resort. Upon arrival at the resort’s private dock, u will be greeted by beautiful houses on stilts and the very famous Parola house. The resort is truly picturesque as you approach the resort. We were greeted by a welcome drink (tropical drink of fresh orange-pineapple concoction) The entire landscape of the resort is truly amazing and I would say that it is really a place to relax and unwin. Our Mandaya house no.18 is on the southern part of the resort facing two swimming pools and a stone throw away to the beach!! Very private and very serene. From the dock, we took the resort’s golf cart and was assisted to our room. I would recommend this area for honeymooners or couples who would love to have some peace and quiet. Or even an entire family for that matter. There is another island owned by the resort – the Malipanao island , resort guests are allowed to tour in this island for free. Just ask assistance from the front desk and they will arrange a boat ride from Pearl Farm to Malipanao island. Another great way to experience the other side of the island. Overall, Iam truly happy that I was given the chance to visit this beautiful place and having to enjoy it with my wonderful mom!! A very memorable experience that would last me a lifetime.

      A Paradise ”

Months ago, I was planning on our itinerary for Davao city and one of my options is to go to Samal Island. When I was choosing which resort to spend a night at, I was not sure if I really want to spend a lot of money just for one night. But Pearl Farm Resort is one of the famous resort in Samal Island. So why not give it a go! Arriving at Pearl Farm is really a jaw dropping experience. We were welcomed by the friendly staffs and a very relaxing ambiance. I love their infinity pool and their clear sea. I can even spot star fishes from their Parola. Pearl Farm Resort is definitely a paradise. But if you are on a tight budget, then this place is surely not an option. I might not go back here again if budget will be an issue.

well managed, friendly staff, great place to relax, great value for money with agoda
only one restaurant and the food is ok but nothing special

30 mins plane ride from Cebu to Davao. from Davao airport, just take a metered taxi and tell the driver to get you to pearl farm marina, its that easy as its a known resort in Davao. when you arrive, you are greeted by friendly guest relations officers and you are checked-in and provided a boat pass in their nicely decorated marina waiting area. the boat ride is 45 mins, and offers a nice view of the surrounding islands. its a grand entrance to the resort, complete with native (taped) music and welcome drinks. you see the Samal suites and houses by the water, and crystal clear water with colorful marine fishes! We knew would have a great time. We stayed in one of the Mandaya houses. its a bit small, sparsely decorated. i saw one of the Mandaya houses which are more roomier then the Samal houses - not to be confused with the Samal suites. Food is ok, but not really spectacular. the grilled items a bit dry, and overcooked. nice breakfast though. the staff are very accommodating and friendly. There's a free boat ride to a nearby Malipano island, which has a spectacular beach and beautiful gardens to relax in. Spa is a bit expensive.

      Awesome service resort, excellent amenities”

Great service from the staff, beautiful infinity pool, fresh seafood on the menu, very nice beddings in the room, spectacular views from Samal House, quick response for maintenance issues

We loved Pearl Farm! The staff members are always smiling and seem eager to please, and the amenities and facilities were awesome. The only "issue" we had was when the airconditioner in the room we stayed in, Samal House 3, broke down after dinnertime. The Front Office quickly sent someone to check on it; the unit turned on again, but turned off by itself after a few minutes. The Front Office then called us to say that they will have to transfer us to another Samal House (#1) - good thing it was available and they weren't fully booked that time. Samal House 1 was smaller, but that was perfectly fine because the amenities were almost the same. I just noticed that the toilet/bathroom area had one or two small cockroaches - maybe they need to beef up the extermination services a bit. The food in the restaurant was awesome, especially the seafood items! The ebi tempura was the freshest (and sweetest) I've tasted in my life; same with the squid tempura. Service staff are very courteous, always smiling and are very knowledgeable about their resort. We will definitely go back to Pearl Farm, and highly recommend it to others who are planning to go to Samal Island, Davao!

      Truly a dream destination”

Great service in a serene island, with a majestic view of Mount Apo right outside of our room

This is our first time to stay in Pearl Farm. It was an unforgettable stay or should I say experience. The time we set put at the "MARINA" Pearl Farm, the lady from the reception already made my day. She informed me that the resort upgraded my room from Hilltop house to Samal house. We were very delighted to know that. The resort has a great way of welcoming their guests. They have a huge parola which serves as a welcome venue wherein they play "beautiful (folkloric) welcoming music" the time the chartered boat approach the resort, making us guests wants to dive out of the boat to get in to the resort faster. As I've said, we stayed in Samal house as a complimentary upgrade which boast of a GRAND VIEW of Mount Apo and Malipano Island. The room is very clean, the bed is divine and very comfortable. Our stay was perfect due to the hospitable service made by their staff. A little problem was posed by the defective rainshower in our room but we totally forgot about it once we made a grand tour of the resort. This is true because I didnt even bother to complain about it at the FO. It was too petty that I forgot about it. Also, we cant complain about their complimentary breakfast---ITS BUFFET! We are very happy that we stayed at Pearl Farm.

Best in the area by far!”

Acivities, Water Sports, Attenntive and Super Polite/Competent Staff

Highly recommended! There was a slight any problem in the Samal House we stayed in, however, the staff was already aware and were spraying to try to take care of the problem without interrupting our stay. This is not the cheapest in the Davao / Samal Island area, however, I saw the rest while on the ferry to Pearl Farm. You don't even quite get what you pay for with those others, and at Pearl, you get so much more. The Kayak is a very inexpensive and fun option. My girlfriend and I spent a day Kayaking between the islands and had so much fun. The waters are netted resulting in some of the cleanest and clearest beach water around. Pay the extra money for Pearl Farm and enjoy your stay. ! night is NOT enough time, so I will be back soon!

      Same Amazing Pearl Farm”

Relaxing Area, American/International standards, High Degree of Service

this is our second time staying at the pearl farm. we love the service and the smiles. we always stay in the samal houses. we enjoy the view of the sunset and watching the fishes. the staff never asked when to clean our room. they would always know when we were out swimming or eating. then when we came back the room was cleaned. that was pretty cool as we never had to worry about asking/and thinking someone would knock. the staff even remembered us from the last trip over 6 months ago. (we remembered some of them as well.) all good people. the resturant food was amazing as always. my wife tells me it's a little high priced, but no biggy for anyone staying there. the service is amazing, and they always take care of me. i walk away pleased, and sometimes that's hard to do. the downsides of the hotel.. the hotel does have a small beach. there are not that many people at the pearl farm, so it wasn't that big of a deal, but if you enjoy "long walks on the beach" this hotel is not for you. their isn't a whole lot of hot water in the samal houses. if your showers last more than about 10 minutes, you'll find that you'll be taking a cold shower. the internet is only available in the common areas around the main pool, resturaunt, etc.. you won't be able to have internet in your room. i hope they fix this in the future. i wish agoda would book more rooms for this hotel, as they can run out pretty quick. i had a wonderful time at the pearl farm, and will be returning on my next trip to the philippines.

      Remarkable Island Paradise Experience”

Very beautiful resort with great service

The staffs were all courteous. The service was great from PF Marina Wharf to the Resort. They were very prompt at every requests you ask. It was very relaxing staying here. We stayed at the Samal House and I was amazed how clear the water below. Great view especially in the morning where you can see school of fishes swimming around. You can even see the ocean floor. And it was fun seeing flying fish moving and floating around. Room was great and very beautiful. You can't hear any noise outside and waking up up with a very picturesque view of the island across was truly amazing! Food was great too! The package I have purchased with Agoda includes breakfast so we only have to spend for dinner. I find it too costly compare to other buffets I have been but overall I enjoyed everything I have eaten especially the tempura and the desserts. The breakfast was great too! Overall, the stay here at Pearl Farm Beach Resort is truly remarkable and I would surely bring my family here over and over again!

      Amazing resort, excellent service”

great view, lots of activities, excellent customer service

Pearl Farm is truly a dream vacation. From the wharf going to the resort until you get to the Airport, Pearl Farm staff will take care of you and treat you like a VIP. Service was seamless and staff were very friendly. From the wharf, staff assisted us with our baggage, gave us cold water during the travel from the wharf to the resort (approx 45 mins). Orientation was given once you arrive at the resort (stuff you can do during your stay, who to contact if you need anything, etc). Lots of things to do (water activities, fish feeding, etc), there's another island that you can explore, but limited if the owners are around. Stayed at one of the samal houses and the view was spectacular. Movie night at around 8PM at the Parola bar, or you can stroll along the road or near the pool. You can swim with the fishes in the morning, snorkel, swim at their gorgeous infinity pool, etc. Pearl farm staff will help you on your way back to the wharf, they'll give you the same courtesy when you first arrive. Our flight was 330PM and we almost didn't make it at the check in counter, but they have staff who will assist you inside the airport and process the check in for you. Amazing! Pearl farm's facilities, accomodation, and most especially the service is way beyond excellent.

      Picture-perfect Resort”

The best feature of Pearl Farm is its picture-perfect look

The best feature of Pearl Farm is its picture-perfect look – from the native huts gingerly tip-toeing on the beach to the infinity pool extending its view to the sea. The iconic parola which is like a Buddhist pagoda adds to the relaxing ambiance of Pearl Farm. The Malipano Island, a 5-minute speed boat ride from Samal, the main island of Pearl Farm, is an extra treat. The small Malipano Island boasts of luxury huts for rent right beside the owner’s villa. Beach sand is white and the water is emerald green both at Samal Island and Malipano Island. In Samal Island, one can feed fishes by just walking for a few meters to the sea. The breakfast buffet may be improved to have more selections on seafood and vegetarian dishes. The Samal Room where we stayed is a little worn down. Finishing of the room may be better maintained. So as not to disappoint guests who expect a “pearl farm”, maybe a small pearl farm may be put up. Out of three groups of Filipino overseas guests we met, two expected to find a pearl farm in the resort.

Great place to relax away from the city

First time visit to Samal Island Pearl Farm, but definately will go again and stay longer. The resort is very clean and modern and the staff makes you feel like they are happy you are there. The resort is worth paying full price, but with Agoda's deals, makes it even more worth going. The food is excellent along with the drinks. The Samal House is a great place to stay, and the a/c works very well. It was the best sleep I had while on vacation in Davao. One night is not long enough, have to stay at least two nights next time.

      Stunning! Lovely! ”

friendly staff/great customer service, clean & quiet resort, very nice room

Booked this resort with Agoda with ease...airport transfers and breakfast included in the cost. Took the 8AM boat trip and after some orientation, we left for the island on time. Cold towel and refreshing pineapple juice were served upon our arrival. Our room was not yet available but we were allowed to explore the island. It was beautiful, serene, clean and well-maintained. Pearl Farm has two large pools, the Maranao and Mandaya pools and both are lovely. Around 11AM, we were given the keys to our room. Absolutely loved our room -- Samal Room 20 built on stilts on the water. Tropical fruits were on the table! Every room has a balcony and with a stunning view of the sunset! Food at the resort's only restaurant was great although a bit expensive. Bought souvenir items at the boutique store and we were told that they're changing the logo/design of the shirts so most sizes were out of stock. We also explored the nearby Malipano Island with its wonderful beach with white sand. It was close to a perfect vacation for me and my husband. Would love to come back and bring my kids the next time! :-) Kudos to the management of this resort!

Quiet and secluded hotel for relaxation”

      Great view, good service, relaxing

Pearl Farm was a nice and relaxing treat. It was very easy getting to the resort via their private boat. The rooms are very nice and overlook the ocean and mountain. Since this is more of a relaxation retreat, there isn't much to do except relax, go to the spa, swim at the pool/beach, eat, or take a boat tour and snorkel. If you want more adventure you can book transportation and see more of the island. One of the restaurants/bars and pool was under renovation while I was there so I didn't get the full Pearl Farm experience, but it was still nice. The WiFi also didn't work too well anywhere so I just used my phone's 3G, which was fine because I didn't come here to sit online all day. The food at the restaurant is good, but definitely has resort pricing, so plan to spend more than you are used to elsewhere. I went with my friend and his wife, and we booked a snorkeling trip for just the 3 of us. Our private boat took us around a few hot spots and we even got to go to the Clam Farm where they have the famous giant clams. This was a lot of fun and I would recommend taking this trip. Since this is mostly a family and couples type of resort, there isn't much socializing. I wouldn't recommend coming here alone unless you wanted to get away from it all and keep to yourself.

Nice Short Quiet Stay in Davao”

Away from the bustle and hustle of the city but still so accessible

I had a wonderful stay in Pearl Farm. After going around Davao City, I decided to stay somewhere calm, quiet and near the sea. I first decided to just avail of the day tour package but after calculating the cost, I found out that it was better to just stay overnight. Thanks to agoda.com, I was able to book a room for three pax at the last minute. We were picked up at the marina on-time for our over an hour ferry trip to Pearl Farm. The check-in was swift and easy. After the usual orientation over a glass of cold pineapple juice as welcome drink, we were given the key to the room. Our Samal room was complete with the usual amenities though I think it is about time that they update the rooms. Still, it was a great room. I like the fact that room service is available 24 hours though the food prices are a bit expensive. The Maranao restaurant serves good food. The buffet breakfast included in the package was great. The buffet, though expensive, is reasonable given its wide variety of dishes. My parents ordered club house and tuna melt sandwiches and they were happy with big servings and generous serving of french fries. The airport transfer included in the package was also nice. Overall, it was a value-for-money package offered by Agoda.

      A really good deal”

      Excellent service

the last time i visited pearl farm was in 2003 (if i'm not mistaken, it was then managed by barcelo) so i knew what to expect. but time around(being managed by fuego), it surpassed my expectations, not to mention the ridiculously good deal i got from agoda! i booked the room only 1 day in advance so i was worried about the hotel not getting my reservation. i didn't expect a hotel pick up, but when i got out of the airport, i saw a man holding the pearl farm sign and i asked if we could be taken to the jetty. my name was on his list and he got us a private sedan to take us to the marina at no extra cost. we had to wait for 1.5 hours for the first ferry so we decided to have our breakfast - it was a bit pricey -but i was amazed at their staff spoke english very well! we got to the resort at 9am so our room wasn't ready, but we were offered a "wash-up" room. it would have been okay for us to stay there but there was renovation going on next door so they though it would be inconvenient for us. on the way back to the city, it rained and they were ready with umbrellas and a shuttle to take us back to the marina (which was only about 100 meters from the dock). there's a lot more to rave about, but in the interest of space i just wrote about the little details that made a big difference.great job pearl farm. i had a so-so experience 8 years ago, but this time around, it has just become my top notch destination!

Location, beautiful views, great staff, great food

This is our 4th visit to Pearl Farm, this time we brought our young baby daughter. There's a reason why we keep coming back. Pearl Farm has always been our all-time favorite resort to stay out. The food is terrific, the scenary, beach, water is crystal clear and just the boat ride alone to the island takes all the stress out of your body. The staff is friendly, helpful, rooms are not 5-star level, but clean, quaint and fits in well with the surroundings. We stayed in the Mandaya House cottage (due to having a young child), because it has more room and an extra single bed. . . but don't miss out if you're a couple and stay in the Samal House, overlooking the water. It's a little smaller, but absolutely beautiful.

Great location but a accomodation disapointing”

      Island haven

Bad news first: We were very much looking forward to our stay at Pearl Farm but were disapointed with the Samal House. Being a high end resort we expected more than the Samal House offered - we found our accomodation to be in a poor state of repair with rotting wood and the place looked more than a bit jaded around the edges - there were no personal touches like dressing gowns in the room which we had had in cheaper, kless commercial places. Good news: The staff were great and were extremely helpful - we paid to upgrade to a suite which was a world away in terms of upkeep and style and rescued our sinking mood. The view from Pearl Farm is breathtaking and the swimming pool and communal areas are clean and well maintained. Food is delicious and not too pricey considering visitors are a captive audience. The cocktails, I can say, after some research, are the best I have had to date in the whole of the Philipinnes!
