Amazing spot”
We chose Ombak Sunset to have a little luxury after a 2-day camping trek up Mount Rinjani in Lombok and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is situated on a far side of Gili T, away from the the bars and clubs in the more backpacker-esque harbour area and is roughly 15 mins journey on the horse cart (there are no motorised vehicles on Gili T). Fixed price for the journey was 1DR 75,000, which is about £4. The resort itself is simply lovely. We stayed in the one bedroom villa, which had its own patio and was detached from the other rooms. The fixtures and fittings were luxurious and we enjoyed the novelty of the outdoor bathroom. Staff were courteous and attentive, while the food and drinks were all well prepared. We didn't want to leave Gili T on the whole and certainly didn't want to come away from the hotel.

Relaxing location, amazing pool, interesting rooms”
I booked this room the night before I turned up in Lombok and had requested an airport transfer. About 15 hours later, I turned up at the airport and they had the airport transfer all organised, even though I didn't have a chance to confirm it with them as I was travelling. So great service from the staff at the Ombak Sunset Hotel (it was someone waiting outside the arrivals gate at the airport holding a sign with my name on it, a private car to the hotel's own dock, private speedboat over to Gili Trawangan, then horse cart to the Ombak Sunset). The sunset from the hotel is spectacular, the pool is great and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was huge and the bathroom was interesting as it was enclosed, yet the top was open to the environment and they had a garden of sorts on the far side - a sort of inside, but outside room. The only downside to my stay was that because the room was so big, the air con struggled to cool it properly, especially when the power tripped off every now and then (an issue with the island power supply, not the hotel). Also, I may have just been unfortunate, but there were an unknown number of mosquitos in the room that I couldn't find, but would keep attacking me when I tried to sleep. The bed did have a nice, thick, comfortable doona/duvet on it, which was lovely, but as the room was too warm to sleep under it and there was no separate sheet, I was just covered in mosquito bites by the morning. However, overall, it's a nice hotel for just chilling out and my favourite place on the island was in one of the hammocks out the front of this hotel.

When we got to Gili T we had no place booked, and as we got off the boat we sat down to make a reservation and immediately after we went on to the hotel. When we got there we were very well recieved with wet towels and a cool drink which was perfect considering all the dust in the streets of Gili and how hot it can get there at 12h00. We waited for about a half an hour for our room to be ready, which we didn't mind considering we only booked 20min before getting to the hotel. However, the Ombak Sunset Hotel kindly surprised us with an upgrade to a two-bedroom private villa. This place was so perfect that we extended our stay for three more nights, and we we're only sorry we didn't have more time to stay a perfect 'dolce far niente' week there. The staff was always very kind, specially the boys by the pool bar. The whole experience was amazing, and I would definitely stay at Ombak again.

We picked hotel ombak sunset because they looked amazing from the pictures. and that the reviews aren't that bad and that it is one of the nicest hotel in Gili. I'm aware that Gili has many chalet type of hotel and I just wanted something better than a chalet. I'm satisfied with the room and i love the outdoor shower. I love when the birds were chirping outside our room and how the hotel managed to make the scenery around so colorful with flowers and trees. The dull part is to get to hotel ombak sunset is pretty inconvenient especially during peak season. As we all know that in Gili, there's only the horse cart thingie to ride you around and that cost us Rp.75,000 one way trip. It is their fixed price and no negotiation at all. Yes, you can walk to get to the crowded area but it will take maybe 30mins or so depending on your speed AND it is not comfortable to be walking on a ground that has no proper 'road' to walk on. It is very sandy on the road and whenever horses passed by, the sand would scattered around. YES, it is terrible, but we did a lot of walking on our very last night. We requested to have a horse cart on the day we check out but it was again a let down that they told us they didn't have any at that moment. We couldn't walk with big suitcase... My man was pretty unhappy with the service. What if we were late to take our boat back to bali? (For instance). are they going to compensate us? so the hotel managed to get us a horse cart (one that carries goods and not carries human). the ride was bumpy and you can imagine we were in a cube/box behind the horsey and they gave us a bean bag in the cart. I kinda injured my hand during the ride and i still have the mark on my hand , The good side, the ride is free!

when my wife told about the hotels after searched in agoda's webpage, she had faith that ombak sunset would be our greatest place for our family trip at gili trawangan. and she was right.. located at peaceful area, nice room's interiors, great kid's pool (my sons spent 3 hours in the morning and evening just to swim inside it because they liked it a lot), and my wife loves the view of sunset from the beach. also excellent quality service by hotel's employees to customers..

Ombak Sunset hotel was an amazing experience. The deal on agoda for €35 each a night was incredible value for money. As backpackers, we wanted a bit of comfort for a couple of nights especially with the amazing deal. On arrival we were greeted with wet refreshing towels, followed by a lovely lemonade drink. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating from the get-go. Food in the restaurant was so nice as well. Go for the bbq food on the beach for very good value if you're hungry. I also got a foot reflexology massage in the spa there and I can't recommend it enough. The man did an amazing massage. Only 150,000 rupiah for an hour. The pool in the hotel is incredible. We stayed there for the day and ordered drinks and food from the comfort of our sunbeds. Just before sunset, we walked out 2 minutes to the beach where the iconic swings in the water are located and got unreal sunset pictures on the swings. Downside-it's a bit of a distance from the port/main side of island.

Incredible Beahfront Resort!”
After spending three months in dozens of hotels throughout Southeast Asia, we spoiled ourselves and spent a couple nights at the beautiful Ombak Sunset. It's hard to find words to describe the perfection of this resort. Every aspect of the Ombak Sunset made it a truly 5 star resort. The service was impeccable, with every staff member going above and beyond their duty to provide the best possible service. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and well designed. We were in the deluxe terrace room and the garden area leading to the room was quite nice. The pool is incredible. Just off the beach, it's made up of an Olympic pool and three smaller pools to the side. The complementary afternoon tea at the pool area is a nice touch. The detached restaurant/bar on the beach offers strong cocktails and delectable dining options, I recommend the couples dinner special (a plethora of Indonesian specialties). They also show outdoor movies a few nights a week and we enjoyed a candlelight dinner while watching the new Fast and Furious. I could go on and on about our amazing experience at the Onbak Sunset but it's easier just to tell you that if you're going to the Gili's, you must stay here!

3 days in Paradise”
We arrived on an early morning fast boat and easily found a Horse& Carriage to help get our luggage to Ombak Sunset which is the other side of the island to the harbour. After checking in we were shown to our Sunset Bungalow to find our bungalow directly below a large building site next door, whilst we understand the whole of Gili T has lots of building works taking place the noise was loud. We asked if we could move to a quieter Bungalow & after a few hours wait was moved to a beautiful bungalow with a private pool through a free upgrade. The bungalow with a private garden & pool was stunning & we spent most of our days by our pool. Room service was excellent & good value. Sunsets on the beach are beautiful & they have 2-4-1 happy hour. We chose to eat out every night as it seemed rather quiet at the hotel, Excile which is walking distance is worth a visit otherwise you can get a Horse to the main area by the night market. We loved our stay, and would highly recommend.

the place to be for sunset on gili t. we stayed here two nights and were just delighted with everything. the pool, the food, the staff, the views!! we rented bikes and rode around the island, which i highly recommend doing. it's a little quiet out there on the western side of the isle, but if you want night life, just bike in, or get a cidomo (horse taxi) to take you in and back. on the eastern side of gili trawangan, you'll get all night parties and young folk, backpackers and divers. maybe two nights here and two nights at their sister property, the villa ombak, in the mix near the center of the action.

We had a great stay at Ombak Sunset Hotel for our honeymoon. The hotel was very clean, nice rooms, friendly staff, and a great breakfast buffet each morning. The only downside is that it is about a 40 minute walk from the main village on Gili Trawangan but you can rent bikes from the hotel or pay for a horse carriage ride into the village.

Hotel location is far from the central and port. You need to rent horse carriege if you bring lots of baggage, it cost Rp.150.000 one way. Also the horse carriege maximum for 3 person only. But you can rent bicycle in the hotel. It cost Rp. 75.000 for 24 hours. If you bring kids, the hotel provide bicycle with kids seat (maximum for 6 yo), and still same price. It's around 30 minutes ride bike from the hotel to central (one way). The hotel feels old, but still good. The room is very big, and the bathroom is open air. It a little bit surprised me though just afraid a squirrel can see me in the shower. I do love the concept of the building with a lot of plants and flowers. So fresh. The pool are great, there are 2 pools for kids and atlethic format pool for adults. Also, there is bar on the pool. Cool! Ombak sunset also have semi-private beach. And the iconic swing. The view is great! Best sunset spot in Gili, while you can sit and enjoying it with good drinks from hotels. The staffs are polite and kind. I give 5 stars score for the food, it cooked so well and taste really good, but still in affordable price. Even the breakfast buffet are great. Loves the food very much.

Sunset view is priceless!”
Stayed in Ombak because it is remote and quiet. Situated away from where most of the resorts and restaurants in Gili T are, you can enjoy just lounging in the pool or the beach bed the whole day then cap it off with a spectacular sunset view! You can also rent a bike and see the entire island within an hour. It's a total of 7km bike ride, the entire stretch with the sea as your backdrop. Overall, we're very happy we chose to stay in this resort where we get our share of peace and quiet, and when we wanted "chaos", we just take a bike ride to the port / night market area where everything you need is accessible. Stayed in Island Sunset Bungalow for 5 days which is amazing! Hat tip to the staff of the resort, they actually upgraded our booking because the aircon in the De Luxe room that we booked is not working and not cooling the room properly. After moving and trying out 3 De Luxe rooms, they finally awarded us the premium villa. Downside: Although they have 3 available restaurants in the resort, food lacks flavour and variety. We feel their menu is very limited, and quality of food is not commensurate to its price.

We had a great holiday there, enjoying snorkling and biking along the island, its was a wonderful time being @ Gili Trawangan... for the Ombak Sunset Hotel... room is big.. we book a family room, the breakfast is just fine.. the sunset view was very lovely here...

Perfect spot for the sunset”
Stay here for the iconic Gili swing and sunset view. Room was of good size. Outdoor bathroom was an interesting concept. This is a luxury resort and service from staff was top notch too. Location's a bit far from the harbour, around 30 mins walk or you can just rent a bicycle to get around the whole island. Room service/restaurant food was good, though a bit pricey but what do you expect from a luxury resort. The pool is a winner too. I would come back again just for the view for sunset. Although, the waters isn't really suitable for swimming. But other than that, thumbs up to Ombak Sunset.

Nice quiet hotel on the other side of busy island”
It was generally a nice experience staying at the Ombak Sunset Hotel. The hotel has a private beach and a very nice pool and is very much up to international 4 or 5 star standard. The only bad thing is that it is located on the other side of the Gili T Island and it costs about 20 mins and US$8 to get in and out by these horse-tuk-tuks per ride. The hotel is ideal for honeymoon couples, but for business travellers or party-goers it is not near the busy area of the island.

The best Hotel in Gili Trawagan !!!”
in my opinion ombak sunset hotel is the best hotel in gili trawagan island. the staff, hotel villas and restaurant are superb. it could be on a long distance from the heart of gili but we were looking for relax... and it's only costs 10$ to go to the city center... there are no cars or moto so that only transport available were bikes and cart with horse..

Outstanding resort hotel in beautiful Gili T”
Staying at the Ombak Gili Sunset resort, provided a truly memorable 12 day holiday. The quality of the accommodation was exceptional, the location, breathtaking. The only very small negatives were poor internet connection in your room, Ok in lobby area. Staff whilst being very friendly were a bit slow and sometimes confused about your requests or drinks order. Some managed English better than others. Neither of these issues impacted on our great stay at this little piece of Paradise. Only disappointment was that we booked a 14 day stay, but realised before arriving that we could only stay 12 days, due to other commitments. They said "tough luck" there's no refund for the two lost days, or any other form of compensation. Not even a free beer!! This could have been handled better by the Management. We'll be back to the Ombak for sure.

The absulote place to be come sunset”
It's aptly named for the perfect location come sunset. People from all around the island came here for exactly that purpose. Watching the sun slowly sinking behind the silhouette of Mt Agung in Bali across the sea, was priceless. It was a steal getting the experience and facilities for the price we paid. A Lombok-native friend mentioned that there weren't many places on the island serving good food, but Ombak Sunset was one of them, and we proved him right, the food was great.
