Situated down New Zealand's incredible Forgotten World Highway is Omaka Lodge, a 5-star boutique bed and breakfast set amongst several acres of beautiful country gardens. It is a 7-minute drive from Taumarunui and a 1-hour drive from Mount Ruapehu. Omaka Lodge offers free WIFI, an outdoor pool and a tennis court. There are three guest bedrooms and a self-contained luxury suite that are beautifully decorated and air-conditioned. Two of the guest bedrooms have a private ensuite bathroom each, and the third has a private bathroom down the hallway. All rooms have a covered terrace. Guests can use an air-conditioned lounge area that has a flat-screen TV. The one bedroom self-contained luxury suite has an open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The suite boasts garden views. A free continental breakfast is available each day. A 2-course or 3-course dinner can be arranged for an additional charge, and must be requested at least 24 hours prior to arrival.

Happy hosts and a peaceful restful stay in a luxurious lodge”

Our stay felt personal as we were treated like family. We were greeted at the car park and welcomed then led through a beautiful garden to the house entrance where we shown the facilities and our room. We were left to our own requirements, quiet reading time, trips to sights, great Thai restaurant meal then back to the lodge. It was like coming back to a top class hotel. We opened a bottle of wine and asked the hosts to join us and great conversation was had. A perfect and restful stay.

We highly recommend Omaka Lodge as a place to relax and unwind.”

We went for a 60th birthday celebration and Chris and Scott were amazing in making us feel welcome and helping us to celebrate. The grounds are beautiful and we especially enjoyed the outside courtyard and the swimming pool. In the evening we could relax in the lounge. The bedrooms were perfectly air conditioned for a good sleep.
That we only stayed 2 days!

I have never been so well looked after before and the property is worth the walk and visit on its own. The breakfast and home made effort was out standing and worth a return trip. The true English tea and severing, I would also return for after being looked after so well, and that lemon cake was to die for, Yes I didn't need the cream!

From the moment we arrived we knew we’d found a hidden gem. From shared interests with the amazing hosts to all of the personalised and thoughtful touches throughout the property we can honestly say we’ve not experienced anything like it before. The rooms are beautifully presented with gorgeous furniture pieces throughout and the ensuite was amazing! (Heated floors and a rainfall shower that my 6’4 partner got under easily! Not to mentioned to lovely toiletries that are available to use) The included breakfast was lovely and everything about our stay was fantastic. We will be back again many times, we’ve found a place we can go when we visit that part of the country again.
I can’t fault the Omaka Lodge at all.
