Had an awesome time at Ocean Bay Beach Resort with my family”

Choosing Ocean Bay was primarily due to its accessibility to my daughter's workplace with LandBank Dalaguete. We didn't expected much because some baseless assumption of the place suggested we choose other place to stay, but out of curiosity, we chose Ocean Bay, anyway. We did online booking but called through phone for onset information. The very good attitude/regard of the resort information employee over the phone was so courteous & impressive. I called 2 times (evening &daytime), the 2 incharge were consistently kind and welcoming each time I call. Anyway, after our 3 days and 2 nights stay, I would stay, the resort is under-rated. It's much better than what you read on the reviews. I would say impressive clean rooms & surrounding, warm & competent personnel, large comfortable yard/grounds to roam, interesting beach to explore. Value of charge/cost reasonable. Needs improvement aspects: 1. TV sets in our 3 bedrooms, malfunctioning 2. No room phone to contact front desk

A Little Piece of Paradise at a Bargain Price”

This is a wonderful resort at a truly bargain price. The staff are superb - extremely friendly and helpful. Drinks by the sea, a beautiful pool, friendly locals who love to welcome foreigners. WiFi in your room, good air conditioning - a little piece of paradise at a bargain price. Folks should be aware that the resort is two hours out of Cebu City. For me that is not a minus, because the city seemed a little rough for my taste. Dalaguete, on the other hand, is a sweet city with all the flavor of the Philippines, but you feel safe walking at night. Also, the hot water pressure leaves something to be desired, but for this price you can't go wrong. I stayed two weeks and I hated to leave. I will definitely return when I am in Cebu.

Good, Relaxing time”

The stay there was pleasant. What I didn't realize was the distance of the resort (located in Dalaguete) from the airport in Cebu. It took over 2 hours to get there and cost 2000 pesos. The important point is that there's a bus at the main bus terminal that takes you directly in front of the hotel for about 100 pesos. However, once there I enjoyed myself. The view of the ocean from the restaurant was fantastic. There is also Wi-Fi in the restaurant for those with laptops and there's a computer there for use as well. The staff was great and the place is front gate of the hotel is manned by a security guard. Unfortunately, the lock to the door of your room is shabby and there's no place to store your valuables. The town of Dalaguete was great. The people are friendly and warm and I never felt in any danger even when walking alone. I met a few friends there so I will return and will stay at the Ocean Bay Resort again due to the internet access and the friendly staff.

Great location for a quiet weekend”

Ocean Bay Resort of the Municipality of Dalaguete, Province of Cebu is located two and a half hours away by car from Cebu City or about 3 hours away by car from Mactan Cebu International Airport. It is a nice resort abutting a sea (Bohol Strait) with a swimming pool and picnic area. The general atmosphere of the resort is nice and clean. Although the kitchen in their studio rooms only contain the sink and a counter top guests can borrow utensils from the front desk people, especially Judy, who is very accommodating and helpful. Besides, when you want them to clean or tidy up your room, just ask them to do so. They will not open your room to clean when you are not around because some guests get upset when housekeeping people open their rooms to tidy it up without prior permission. The toilet area, however, needs a drainage to keep from being flooded because the drainage is only in the bath area. I also suggest that a small window in every toilet and bath be installed to help let some fresh air in because there is no exhaust. Finally, I suggest that Agoda and Ocean Bay work together to properly differentiate Standard Room A from Standard Room B because I gather it from the boy in the front desk that there is always a confusion as regards the “standard” room booked thru the internet. The resort was well lighted at night during the 5 nights we stayed (February 7 to 12). When I sleep at 3 to 4 in the morning, the lights are still on which is a treat for a night owl like me. For those who love to barbeque, there is a barbeque area; and the resort can even heat your leftover food for you, free of charge, if you just ask them nicely.

Beautiful Ocean Resort”

My Girlfriend and I enjoyed 6 nights at the Ocean Bay Resort. The staff were all friendly. Boat rides and Snorkeling were awesome. Rooms have air conditioning and TV. The location is 2 hour bus ride from Cebu city ($80 Php) or you can have the resort arrange a driver to pick you up at the Cebu airport for about $1,600.00 Php. The owner is a foreigner and is a valuable resource for any persons thinking of relocating to Philippines.

Dalaguete is only 2 hrs busride away from cebu city around 120 php . I stayed for 10 days and the owner is a dutchman . The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is great , also there is a possibility to have some scuba diving . You also can rent a motorcycle for a budget price so you can explore the neighbourhood .I will come back .

Exceptional”

The studio room that we stayed on is noticeably a bit old, but recently restored and newly painted. Air-conditioning works great. The staff is very accommodating and restaurant breakfast is great and served fast. Pool is clean, but I think they put too much chlorine into it during the time of our stay. Beach however is not so nice, we instead went swimming in another beach (Dalaguete Beach Park) around 10mins away. All in, it is a great place to stay.

Quiet getaway in quaint little Guiwanon”

we enjoyed our stay at ocean bay beach resort. the staff we're no trouble at all and always obliging. the resort is not the prettiest place, but if you aim your camera shots right you'll have a very pretty album to show off. the beach had a lot of seaweed trown onto the sand, but they do clean it away...its just that more seaweed is trown back up onto the sand eventually. the pool was nice and our choice for swimming over the actual beach. if u want beach swimming, a short motorbike-and-sidecart ride into alkoy for 15p per person will take u to clear water and fine-white sand. note- the wifi does not reach the cheapest 'standard room a' rooms. all other rooms and public areas have wifi access.

Superb”

Just such a Lovely place. Staff are wonderful. Maintenance do a great job keeping the beach , pool etc. So clean. If you are staying in Deleguate there is no better place. Have stayed many times and will stay again in the future. Looking forward to my next visit. Thanks to all Ocean Bay staff

A really nice place to stay in Dalaguete! Has wonderful snorkeling in front of the resort, good food, comfortable rooms, near to town, beautiful sunsets! And a great location if you want to explore the Osmena Peak Hills!

Time to relax”

My overall stay at the Ocean Bay Beach Resort in Cebu was favorable. I was looking for a place to chill, read a good book, watch the ocean and recoup; and the Resort is perfect for that. However, the beach is smaller than I'm used to (being from California) and the extreme low tide during the morning was a bit overwhelming. It did make finding local sea life easy. I think my favorite thing was getting to know the staff and spending time reading in the gazebo. If you're looking for a quiet get away, then get yourself here.

Nice, comfortable resort”

I like this resort. It is located 2 ½ hours south by car from Cebu City and is along the national highway so finding it is easy. It is near everything that Dalaguete has – the municipal hall, public market, church, school, hospital – and transportation within the town is by pedicab. The resort has a nice swimming pool and is well-lighted at night. It has a restaurant near the entrance and it is open until 10 PM. The rooms have a ref, hot and cold shower, and aircon. If you need anything more, like drinking glasses, you just have to ask the front desk for it. They can lend you grilling or kitchen stuff. The bathrooms are okay, except that an additional drainage at the toilet area is needed to keep it from flooding. There is also a need to differentiate which type of “standard” room is being offered to agoda because it has 2 types of standard rooms – A or B.

Modest but comfortable hotel”

I wasn't expecting luxury in Dalaguete and so was not disappointed. The grounds of hte hotel are nice and as we arrived there was a wedding going on. The view of the ocean is well worth it. The room was modest but for the modest price it was fine. The restaurant is also very simple but pleasant and the service was good.

Ocean Bay Beach Resort”

I was totally delighted to discover this out of the way Ocean paradise. A gazebo restaurant jut out over the water to create a sense of floating. The staff was friendly and their service superb. An on site dive shop provided for snorkling or diving directly from the hotel. The food service was tasty and the service friendly.

nice place..crazy policy”

Generally really good place to stay. No beach swimming possible water too shallow always. Relaxing peaceful place. Fantastic menu and bruschetta! But an incredible policy of the room price is good for one person only. You have to pay more after arriving if your a married couple.. or a dad with a kid etc. Never ever come across this in 20 years travelling philippines. Astounding policy.. the double beds are perfectly good for two. Be aware.. the price you paid online when reserving... you have to pay extra when u checkout if your with a companion.

Great Small Hotel With Excellent Food ”

This hotel while far from a luxury resort is quite pleasantly nice and also very self contained. If you are looking to get away for some easy going relaxation you can have the pool, the beach and all your meal without leaving the hotel. If you want to venture out the village is very small and does not have too much to do or see but is very nice and the people are great. I think this hotel is a great option if you want a place to rest relax and have all your meals on site. The staff tries very hard to please and are very nice.

Well, not all rooms of the same type are the same. Our original room had no view, just a bed, TV and coffee table. But we were able to get a nicer room of the same type with a view and a divider which allowed us to hang our clothes. No hot and cold shower. Food was good at their resto, it's expensive but it has large serving portions and tastes good. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Pool was okay. But location wise, the resort is nice.

Had the wifi worked; had there been (electric kettle) hot water for my baby's feeding bottles in room; and rice meals for breakfast... our stay could have been perfect! =) Still, thank you Ocean Bay! ^^,
