"after my disappointing stay at ritz hotel in capetown, my arrival at tropicana was a breathe of fresh air. the staff were very helpful and always smiling (i like that--it makes your day). and most of all, they wree accommodating. the hotel is clean and comfortable. i got lucky to have a room facing the ocean. the beach is just right across the street. and right across the street are the local vendors for arts and crafts (rows and rows of them) where you can get good deals on souvenier items. you can be easily entertained by shopping or just laying out in the sun by the beach. durban is definitely great as a last stop to your travel in south africa. here, you can relax and the local people are much friendlier--really.
