Our stay was amazing! We were able to enjoy Ho Chi Minh city to our fullest and we have our wonderful friends at the hotel to thank for it!!! We will be back again and will definitely stay at the N.Y Kim Phuong!

Great location - best value”

Centrally located along Hai Ba Trung in the District 1 city-center , it offers ready access to Ben Thanh Market, shopping malls and lots of eateries. Breakfast include choice of Continental Meal - bread and butter, or Vietnam Noodles (soup or fried) and beverage - coffee, tea or juices at a nominal Vietnam Dong 50,000 (abt US$2.50). Strong wifi signals with routers installed in room - which is fairly spacious. Hotel staff is friendly, informative and helpful . It is also arguably the lowest room rate once can get - within the city center... Well recommended to all !

Kim Phuong Hotel : Affordable but service needs improvement”

Kim Phuong is my preferred choice, - for many years- being very centrally located within D.1 . It used to be affordably priced (and still is..) - the afternoon-session receptionist does a great job, interacting with guest with a ready smile. However, other staff's services needs improvement. Breakfast (noodle plus a drink) used to be at VND50,000 but is now separately billed for the food and drink - and at such rates, I'd rather eat out at other nearby outlets.

Exceptional”

For the price and the location, this is a great hotel. The lobby staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, bathroom was wide and the beds comfy. Not so many options for breakfast, but it's doable. Excellent location, within walking distance to the City Hall, Opera House, Notre Dame Church and other attractions.

Basic hotel with central location ”

This hotel is centrally located in Ho Chi Minh. A little dated & inconsistent in terms of hotel amenities. Both rooms that I booked has different things when it comes to amenities. Some are missing & incomplete, some has more. Just don't expect too much for the hotel room.

Nice room, great location and amazing price”

The room is spacious and the hotel locates right in the most beautiful area of Saigon (hochiminh city), it's close to everything, just one step out and you have countless of restaurant and places to drink, and dance. The breakfast is ok. The staffs are helpful. You cannot find another nice place with this reasonable price and location. Definitely I will stay here again.

Affordable hotel with friendly helpful staff.”

I stayed on the top floor which has great views to the river. The young reception staff are really friendly and helpful. They speak very good English. The hotel is in a good part of the city, a short walk to the posh shops if you want or to parks.. Its not a noisy area considering other parts of HCM are overrun with motorbikes..

Great location in the party district”

the staff was very friendly in helping us book local tour to the cu chi tunnels. breakfast is a bit spartan, but enough to get you to lunch. the hotel is also close to many bars in the party district of saigon, but in a quite area so getting good sleep every night is not an issue. air conditioning kept us cool at night, and a nearby cafe that served illy (johnny's wine stop, one block away) made for a great stay!

Enjoyable stay”

I moved to this room after staying in another room for 1 night. The staff was great about making sure things were made right. I really like this hotel and would stay here again. Free wifi, fridge, bathtub, lots of English speaking TV channels, and centrally located for travel to all parts of the city.

Clean hotel, well located”

it is a decent hotel with free internet downstairs (just ask the reception if you can use the computer). breakfast is very average, though. good location in the modern area of ho chi minh.

Extremely impressed with hotel, Will stay again.”

A great hotel for the price, its got a great location very close to many of the shopping malls also the TVs and the showers are extremely good for the price you pay for the hotel, Wifi can tend to be a bit slow and iffy but at least there it works. I'd recommend this hotel for travelers on a budget who are looking for cheap, affordable accomidation that delivers.

Nice cozy hotel ”

Hotel is a bit dated however has good facilities and great location. Backpacker Street is only a 5 min taxi or bike ride away which means you're always close to all the action but when you come back to your room its nice and quiet. A lot bars and restaurants nearby like Apocalypse Now, Blanchy's Tash etc.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the room was big and clean. Easy access from the hotel to the river cruises and other tourist attractions, including night-time entertainment. Great value and well recommended.

Good Location but small clean room.”

Room is reasonably clean but small for family room compared to another hotel which we stayed in 2 days earlier. Zen Lapaz hotel was known by another name, New York Phuong Hotel and the new name was not even put up yet. It was not easy to find and we had to confirm the address with the front desk. We have also been overcharged by Agoda as we found out at the reception that the offer for the family room. We were also not satisfied with the room because the toilet door and main door was jammed. They had to break open the lock. We got our things and changed room. However, the receptionist was helpful and get things done quickily. Hope that the hotel improve their facilities, otherwise it could be a great place.

Great location and friendly staff”

Great location and friendly staff. Booked 2 tours (Meekong river and cu chi tunnels) with them as well which was a lot cheaper than it would have been with the main tourist information centres. Will stay there again.

Budget but good enough of everything ”

Pro... Large clean rooms, good and friendly staff, tour advice counter, good location, generally deserved every cents you paid for. Breakfast for us is OK, surely not for fussy customers. Con... Small lift carrying no more that 3 large adult, paid for drink in hotel fridge that wasn't consumed by us thus check upon check in. Little English spoken. Charged usd 8 per nite for extra kid but dun even provide us with pillow. Maybe can improve on providing checklist of it's in fridge and pillow if charged extra. Generally still worth it.

Great staff”

Very enjoyable stay. The staff was great. Problem with air con resolved quickly. Only problem I had was the shower hose didn't have a mount on the wall. So had to hold it in your hand. The next day I changed to different room and stayed several more days. Location was convenient for travel citywide. See separate review for additional days I stayed.

Noisy and expensive”

In short I just didn't think it was worth the price (about $30/night) for what you get. The location is good and the room was clean, but that's about it. There was very, very loud noise from the street below (even 8 floors up), could hear constant honking into the night. Some say that's just HCMC, but I'm in a different hotel now around the corner and it's far, far better (and cheaper!). I had to play music on my laptop and have my A/C on to drain out the street noise while I slept. The hot water in the room was...cold. I saw this in other reviews here, but didn't think much of it - it's absolutely true. Didn't enjoy the cold shower at all. The staff were friendly.

Affordable Budget Hotel”

This hotel is strategic for me as i enjoy night life so much. It's just 2 minutes walk to the Apocalypse Now club, and 5 minutes taxi (around 1 USD by meter taxi) to the Lush club. It also located nearby the Vincom Center where I can reach there in 15 minutes by walking. Also convenient because the is a Circle K Minimart located just few shops away.
