Deserves to be recommended”

my place @ surat hotel i believe deserves recommendation. if you have to stay overnight in surat thani for whatever reasons, then i would advice to seriously think about staying in here. like others, we opted to spend 1 night in surat thani to catch a flight the next day. given what we paid for (aud $18 for 2 pax), we weren't expecting much. we chose this place because of the general positive feedback it has been given. upon arrival, the front facade of the place looks nice and clean, the staff greated us warmly with a nice welcome drinks and on their counter was a little board with our name written down to say "welcome" with our country's flag (australia)right above it. nice touch. the room we were given was big, very clean, had bottled water for free, fridge, new air-con, en-suite bathroom, free wi-fi, and t.v that had a lot of english channel/shows! after a week of watching al jazeera news (only thing in english where we were), this was exciting around the corner from the place was a night market that starts around 4 p.m. and "no. there were hardly any insects for sale". seriously, there were a number of great food to eat for sale which were cheap and you will not get sick e.g. barbecued pork, corn on the cob, pad thai, if you see the girl doing little pikelets with pandan spread inside (green looking paste) do yourself a favour and give it a try. it is delish!! the staff speaks little english but they will do their best to make sure that you are comfortable and that you don't get rip off. when you first get to surat thani e.g. if you arrive there by bus, where you get off, you will be pounced on by taxi drivers etc. trying to get you to commit into pre-booking them. don't!! just wait till you get to my place as they will tell you the different, really cheap and easy options of getting to the airport for example.

My Place @ Surat Hotel is a top notch budget hotel with welcoming staff nestled in a bustling yet quiet area of Surat Thani. Hotel is nicely decorated, room was super clean, bathroom in our room was well maintained, and services exceptional. Night market, shopping center, restaurants, and river ar a short walk. The coffee shop next door is convenient and reasonably priced, which also has a simple breakfast/lunch menu. Internet and cell service are a little slow in this location for whatever reason however going to the coffee shop and using internet there is a better option. Would definitely stay here again if we're in this area. Recommended!

Perfect ”

We stayed at My Place @ Surat after being on Koh Samui and before a flight the next day. The hotel is situated on a main road, just 5 minutes walk from malls, a bustling and large night market and surrounded by shops. The rooms are large, clean and tidy with a fridge, tv and wifi. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional and were able to help us out with things to see in the area as well as arranging for us to get to the airport. We paid 450 baht for a private taxi transfer, however you can walk to a bus stop close by and get a bus for 100baht each. The hotel staff are able to let you know what time to get the bus depending on which flight you are on. Upon checkout we were presented with a postcard with a personalised message on the back which was a nice personal touch. This is definitely the place to stay in Surat Thani town.

need a proper route map for transit travellers”

We only stay for one night on our transit back to Malaysia through surat thani airport. I should suggest a proper location map of this hotel for first time travellers so that you would not be over charged by the tuk-tuk (local taxi) driver to send you from the town bus station to this hotel which is just one street behind the bus station. we arrived from Krabi by last bus at night and it was raining. On the bus there was one Germany lady tourist who also look for My Place hotel. When we alight from the bus all tuk-tuk drivers were dishonest (not good to tourism development)they told us that the hotel was very far and charge each of us 50B. Our Germany friend told the driver that it was very near from our tourism map and why charge us so high. we went to ask other people around and one who speak a little english also said it was far away. As it was dark and raining, we later decided to cut the price of another tuk tuk driver to 20B each and he sent us to the hotel hopefully we will chartered his taxi to the airport near morning. In fact the route to the hotel was a short walking distance. When coming out from the Talat Kasat 2 bus station, it is the Talad Mai main road,cross the road and turn left, walk along the street, then turn right at the first junction (at the temple) and walk through the lane. Then you will see the Namuang Road. Turn left and walk a short distance, there on the right side is My Place Hotel after the night market area. Hopefully this is usefull to those first time traveller to this hotel.No complain on this hotel as we stay one night only.

Exceptional”

We stayed at My Place @ Surat Hotel on 3 different occasions in the last 2 months. Each stay was great. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the shower is warm, we had water bottles in the room at the start of each of our stays. We never took advantage of the cleaning of the room while there, but we always arrived to a clean room! The location was great for us (walking distance to buy mini bus/boat tickets, to the mall and to our friend’s shop). We had a wonderful stays and would definitely stay again when we find ourselves in Surat Thani!

Perfect stopover hotel”

We chose My Place based on these reviews for a one night stopver between Samui and a northbound train the next day. We were completely satisfied with the location, comfort and size of the room, and friendliness of the staff. It is quiet inside despite being in the center of everything- including a fantastic night market 2 blocks away where you can find anything Thai to eat you could desire. Past experiences in Surat Thani for us haven't always been so great, but My Place changed that and we would be happy to stay there again if we were passing through. Hghly recommended!

My Place @ Surat Hotel is a fantastic value for the price. The location is right in the middle of Surat Thani, just blocks from the night market. The staff are friendly and great at helping arrange transportation and give you information. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have everything you need. If you're passing through Surat Thani, this place is a great option.

I stayed in Surat Thani for one night as a staging point to the Thai Islands. I cannot recommend My Place highly enough. I arrived at 1 in the morning and there were still polite members of staff to greet and take care of me. The room itself was very pleasant and ticked all the boxes: very comfortable bed; good shower; all the usual conveniences. The staff really set the hotel apart though, helping me with suggestions for things to do in Surat Thani. I was especially impressed by their ability to arrange an onwards ferry for me to the islands on the same day. In short an exceptionally friendly hotel and a great place to put your feet up!

A very relaxing and comforting place to stay”

I travelled with a couple of my girlfriends passing through Suratthani on our way back from Koh Phangnan. We weren't sure what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a quaint and cute hotel in the heart of the city. The rooms were better than we were expecting - very clean and quite comfortable. The staff were very helpful in guiding and directing us to places of interests and things we wanted to see. A definite must if you live here, is check out the SPA down the road (recommended by the staff). It was a fabulous experience for a very low price.

An Ideal Hotel in Surat Thani”

I definitely wouldn't ask for more. This is definitely the most ideal hotel in Surat Thani town for a stop over either you're on the way or coming back from the island. We just stayed for a night to catch a morning flight to Kuala Lumpur. It have everything that we need from a clean and comfortable room, near to a night market and etc. We even received a warm welcome on a small blackboard upon check in and a postcard as a thank you note once check out. Not to mentioned that they even provide us a map to guide you to the nearest eating place and other attraction around Surat Thani. Do ask them about the airport shuttle services which is within a walking distances (400m) from hotel with a price of 100 baht.

Solid Hotel option, great price”

This was my second stay in a week at My Place@ Surat Thani. Just like the first time, I was welcomed and given my key. This time was on the 2nd floor but again it wasn't too noisy, even though it faced the side street. How water worked great, so did Air-conditioning. Tons of TV channels; WiFi was in and out but staff re-set it a few times and it improved. Great price for this place. They really try hard. I'd think it might not cost too much for the hotel to put hot water kettles in rooms; still, they have a big kettle at the front desk area to come down and get your own, which I did each morning.

the staffs are friendly. good location, city center, not far from the airport link bus station, very near to night market, and nearby got departmental store, shopping complex all. convenient to get food. nearby got temple also. from there go to airport is just about 40 minutes journey. room is quite clean, no carpet in the room. i just stayed for 1 night, but found that is a quite nice hotel, good price, and good location. will come back to stay again, if i come to suratthani again.

Best Value”

Hotel was just in the city center,surrounded by many local food whereby night market, or hawker stall behind hotel, along the river side. Hotel provide a map give good guide and direction. Is also near to the transportation hub (bus,ferry,etc..) Staff are very helpful & friendly also feel warm that they prepare a greeting board on the front desk for welcome and your name in the room you booked. Further,a small gift when you are leaving. Would stay again same hotel if a plan to Suratthani.

Great location ”

My Place @ Surat Hotel was a truly enjoyable experience. The hotel is centrally located. Close to everything. Food courts, shopping malls, transportation, places must see and more. The staff are so accommodating and corteous. The rooms are clean,1 minute walk to the nightly markets for food and shopping, about half way down on the left hand side is a lady that sells strawberry shakes (theses are a must) Its my first time staying here and will do so on my next trip.

Family friendly with professional touch of class”

We truly loved it and that is no exaggeration. The room was quaint and clean. The services from staff were above average for a small hotel and the area was very much central to everything in the area. We chose to stay an extra day here in Surat Thani due to the fact that it was well worth the time to explore such a small community where the people were so friendly and helpful. I've read a many traveller's blog saying 'there's no need to stop in Surat Thani', but I beg to differ because it has something that other, more touristy places doesn't and that is bargains at the markets, malls and even street foods. Excellent service and warm, friendly locals that will go out of their way to help. Perhaps the future development of such small towns only come from truly appreciating these experiences even if was only an extra day off your travel calendar.

Great room at budget price.”

From start to finish, my stay at this hotel was very pleasant. A sign welcoming me, an early check-in and a glass of fruit juice was a nice introduction to the hotel. The room was big and clean with lots of amenities. The hotel is located not too far from the river and close to shopping and lots of local markets. The staff was very helpful throughout my stay. I had an evening train on the day of checkout and I was able to extend my stay for a few more hours for a reasonable fee. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting Suratthani.

My name has been displayed on a welcome board on the day I check in.Makes feel so warm.I booked a King Bed room. It's very spacious and room is clean.The hotel is very caring. They provides a city map and guide for restaurant nearby.Staff is very helpful although they can speak limited English but they give their best to answer our query. I only stayed one night whilst waiting for my early morning flight. I hope to return and spend more time in Surat Thani town and at My Place hotel. Very close to a great night market, pity it poured down on the night I was there, but still manages to try the district delicacies. The town looks interesting enough for a few days and the prices are right.

Excellent homestyle hotel”

For the price, this is an excellent place to stay. Everything is spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. Beds provide a great nights sleep, staff are all kind, attentive and helpful, and it feels much like staying as a guest in somebody's home. Bus transfers from the front door, night market next door, the rooms have nice little touches like fresh flowers and welcome cards and good linen. Don't hesitate to stay here for a calm, comfortable night in Surat city.
