quiet retreat”

Ca Mau is a remote lightly visited area with not much to do or see. A day trip will take you to the southern tip of the country and it's extensive mangrove forests. The Muong Thanh was a surprise find in such a remote place. Rooms are very spacious. Buffet breakfast is excellent and the hotel restaurant served served excellent food at surprisingly low prices. The huge pool is quiet and empty most of the day and a nice retreat. My main disappointment with the hotel was that the only flight in for the day arrives very early, and they charged us quite a lot of money for an early checkin. probably my fault since I had not researched the flights and found that there is only a single flight a day in and out of the airport! I suppose that if I had requested an early checkin on booking on Agoda I might not have been charged. They wanted cash for half the daily room rate! I would stay here again if I had reason to return to Ca Mau

Affordable & Clean Hotel”

Muong Thanh Luxury Ca Mau hotel is just a stone throw away from many good restaurants and convenient stores in Ca Mau. Staffs are friendly and are always ready to help out if guests are in need of any help. It is a very fine hotel with good spread of breakfast and delicious authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Great hotel, deserves 5 stars & 2 thumbs up”

I’m traveling with family of 5 including 3 kids and stayed at different 5 stars hotel during vacation in Vietnam. To me this hotel is the best equivalent with Rex hotel in Saigon ( I’ve been there for 3 nights ) but price is much more affordable ( $ 150 per night at Rex vs $ 63 per night at Muong Thanh ) I definitely recommend and will be back again whenever have chance.

Best stay in Ca Mau”

Stayed here previously one time prior with my fiancée as she is from Ca Mau and visiting her family Thought we would stay here again and this time take an additional room with 3 beds for her father, sister and brother in law. The next day my wife’s family who lives in Ca Mau was checking out and made them wait in the lobby because apparently there was 1 towel missing. The room should have had 3 towels but was stocked with just 2 and pretty much accused them of taking the towel. My wife who is also from Ca Mau was very angry and said the hotel treated them that way because they are Viet but if was me an American, would have been no problem. First of all, the hotel knows I booked that room on my credit card and if there was a problem they should have called me instead of treating my wife’s family like criminals...this to me sits poorly as the hotel itself and location otherwise is great. This was the downside of our stay. The upside to a great location is the free breakfast buffet .

Better each time”

Our second stay at Muong Thanh and the experience was much better than our first. Staff is friendly and helpful as usual. Hot water at night this time without having to call and complain. Got a room without flaking wall paper and carpet stains. Breakfast is still very local centric. Pool and gym were nice. Mini mart was convenient.

Good stay”

Another good stay but always another surprise when staying here. The flight from HCMC to Ca Mau always arrives at 7am and I always request an early checking. This time, instead of allowing for early check in (as i have with previous stays) , i was told I needed to pay an additional fee for early check in because it was a holiday weekend. Seriously!!! Beyond that everything else was fun. Staff is very good and as long as you insist on a room that is well kept, there are no issues. Otherwise, you may end up with no hot water, dirty carpet , or some other annoying thing that you don't expect in a fairly new hotel that is 5 stars.

Good but a little bit far from downtown”

Good hotel with new facilities. Friendly staff. Breakfast with limited dishes. For dinner you can ask chef for daily special, but wine list is not good enough, limited selection. Far from downtown, approx 3kms but you can trolling down the street because Camau is a small town. There's a supermarket aside the hotel, you can find your needs here and walk down to the pool, there's a coffeeshop by the pool that you can sit there and relax. If you plan a family trip or a couple trip then Muong Thanh is good, but if you are a solo traveler like me, you shouldn't stay here because there's no nightlife activities around here, you must call a cab of motobike to ride you there to the downtown. However, overall, i have good time (02 nights) at Muong Thanh

excellent getaway”

Not much happening in Ca Mau, but this hotel was a surprise. Location is excellent if you want peace and quiet, there is a very nice pool too and the food in the restaurant never disappointed. Very reasonably priced, with excellent service. We would definitely return!

Best in Ca Mau”

Now I know that's not saying much ...but remember....this is Ca Mau. After our third stay, we finally got a room without peeling wallpaper or water leaking around the bathtub....hot water at all hours....and no stains on the carpet. The breakfast is still very localized.....pool and gym are good......typical Vietnamese club....mini mart was good. Will stay here again

another good stay”

Staff makes this place. Always a smile and willing to assist (even when there is a language barrier) Cleanest place you will find in Ca Mau. Rooms are for the most part fine. Hit or miss in terms of getting a room with no hot water, leaky seals, stains on carpet. But the staff is always willing to help....even got a room change cos the issue in my room could not be resolved. Will stay here again

Anyway, this is the best hotel in Ca Mau. I enjoyed the food in the hotel restaurant. Esp. Seafood Hotpot was very delicious w 300,000vnd.

In my opinion, this is the best hotel in Ca Mau, the room is clean, good location, friendly staff but the breakfast doesn't have many courses. We don't have a better choice in Ca Mau.

Nice room but not on par with "luxury" standards”

Maybe it was just my room but it had a big defect: the shower head aimed upwards however I tried to aim it, and the slope of the bathroom was aiming toward the entry way, making the water spill down there. I just took one shower and the entry was soaking wet. Most bathroom fixtures were pretty but defective actually. The joints on the tiles were also very amateurish. HOWEVER.... The hotel is situated in a designated new development area along with the Vincom Center and villas and trendy cafés and you can sense there is a lot of good will to give guests an upscale experience. The staff is really great and do their best to help. But perhaps local suppliers are still learning to provide that upscale touch. I came in this city 5 years ago and I can tell this place is orders of magnitude more classy than whatever was available in Ca Mau back then. So, keep up the good work and you'll get there!

Disappointed new 5 star hotel in Ca mau ”

This is one of the few new hotels in Ca mau city and the only self claimed 5 star hotel! However, I was very disappointed with the facility and service offered! First, it claims to be a five star hotel but still uses the outdated solar energy for heating hot water-the old but inefficient way of heating, popular with mini hotels in Vietnam but not five star establishment! Therefore, it took forever for the water to warm up and even that it's just lukewarm! Then the water jet coming out of the shower head was not strong at all. Room was large, clean and modern but the decoration was of poor taste-it didn't match with the room style at all! Staff at the hotel was nice and helpful but that pretty much all it can offer! The breakfast was terrible with the food quality and the variety of choices. It gave me the impression that the hotel try to cut corners in everything in order to cut cost!

I enjoyed to be here using the hotel installations like the swimming pool, tennis court, karaoke, disco and of course the restaurant. The staff or employees were every time very friendly and available every moment to help me . The breakfast was improved and delicious . The room big enough and I could really sleep and relax. Near here there is a new market place and you find all what you need. Really to recommend . Thank you all the hotel manager, very friendly too and helpful ...

Great accommodation in a small city”

The hotel located in a new residence area so there are not many restaurants surrounding. Check in and out process is efficient. Room is spacious and fully equipped. Bathtub is high to floor, easy to be slippy. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Swimming pool is clean and wide. Gym is great.

Nice hotel”

The hotel may not be 5* as it state but the service are great. Nothing to compliance about the room. The breakfast is just average but it's not a big deal.
