Great stay! ”

We stayed 3 nights at Mr.Kwizz. The hotel is off the beach but the beach is only a 2 minute walk. The staff are really lovely as it is a family run business. The room is simple and bright, all you really need as you don't spend a lot if time in the room. The only downside are the chickens/roosters which keep you up all night but that can't be helped as its a very small island. It's part of the culture so you just need to embrace it. Malapascua is mainly a diving island so hotels along the beach are expensive. Mr.Kwizz offers great value for money which leaves you with more the spend on diving. I recommended staying here as its super laid back and affordable.

Very enjoyable ”

I was expecting what I saw on the pics, but that was not to be, I actually really liked it here, very basic cold showers, no internet, but I loved it , very nice island, some really good places to eat around the island, quite don't even think I heard a cockerall, which I was amazed by, as they are everywere, met some really good people here, the staff arranged a boat for us to go around the island snorkelling which was good fun. If you want to enjoy island life defo come here.

Better than expected- budget room”

Room was good size with a comfortable and clean bed, many shelves to store your stuff. Bathroom was not very clean, toilet was dirty from previous guest, many hair in the shower and the sink was not clean either. Water pressure is funny sometimes, but it is not a big deal if you ok with the bucket, for us it was fine. Wifi is very slow and only available at the restaurant. Food is good price and very delicious. There is also a swimming pool to use, but it does not have any filteration system, so it gets dirty very quick. Overall good stay. Would stay here again.

Mr Kwizz is a nice place hide from the big hotel, close to the beach, has a good cuisine and nice rooms. Familiar place and the staff very friendly

Yes just like the other reviews our shower and toilet wasn't working as you would expect but all good with the pale and water from the tap in the bathroom.room was clean and bed was comfortable definitely would stay again as it was a short stroll to any beach.most affordable restaurant on the island...

We did not stay in this resort”

We booked this resort but we did not stay here because we decided to find another resort because of the bad reviews about the cleanliness and their staff. But if those things wont matter to you, you can stay at this resort since it is cheap and near the restaurants in Malapascua.

About 100m back from the end of the beach behind Evolution resort so fairly easy to find. Rooms are basic and need a good airing as they are musty. We had numerous water cuts during our stay, when asking at the eating area the water came back on after a few minutes... for some reason they turn the water off often. Currently some construction work going on in the restaurant area, building new walls etc. A new pool has been built but it is a mosquito breeding area as there is no filter or water circulation or chlorine in the water. WIFI is only available in the eating area and is extremely slow. Breakfast is from 0730 but the place was plagued with flies, I didn't experience flies in other parts of the island. I walked around and found several pigs and a rubbish dump at the back of the eating building. Be aware you need to ask about the breakfast that is included in the room rate as they don't tell you what is included and then present you with a bill when checking out.. I saw this about 4 times so it appears to be bit of a scam. As normal within village areas there are lots of barking dogs, crowing cocks and squealing pigs. Air con in the room hardly worked and resulted in shrugged shoulders from the people working there. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to people I like.

Below average Accom”

The guesthouse is located in the back of the beach 5 min walk. Overall the guesthouse provides below average rooms for above average charges. After one day i found a room close to the beach for half the price. The rooms at Mr. Kwiiz are very basic as there is no waste disposal system in place on the island a lot of waste is everywhere and the smell comes out of many holes. Also the rooms in this resort have a very distinctive smell coming from below or from the fires around in the area.

Great Stay”

Excellent value and incredibly kind host. We loved our fan room bungalo. All the basic essentials and more. The lady was even nice enough to hold our bag for us while we motorbiked the rest of Bohol.

The location of the hotel from the beach is a bit far, night without light some hard to find, but the room health is good, no hot water, bundled breakfast is very good.

Very nice stay”

We had a very nice stay. The food served in the restaurant was very good. The hotel is only 200m from the beach. Everyone was very friendly.

DON'T GO THERE”

Even though the price is cheap, you should run away from this place. The rooms are disgusting (floor, walls, bedsheets, toilet), both my girlfriend and I got food poisoning from eating to the restaurant, the staff was all but helpful and nice, the place is full of flies and they have 5-6 chained dogs that constantly bark day and night. The room they put us in had a sink but no faucet, therefor no water... After the first night in this rathole being sick (without proper sick and NO toilet paper), we ask to be upgraded in a better room (it was low saison, so lots of room available) and we were really the negotiate a price accordingly to the upgrade. However, the manager wouldn't recognize any fault, wouldn't hear anything and just ignored us. She finally told us that if we wanted a good room we just had to go see elsewhere... I have never been so shocked and we have never seen a hotel care less about there clients than Mr. Kwiiz! We had already paid for 4 nights and after this first horrible experience, even though I hate wasting money for nothing, we decided to leave. So I repeat, even though it's cheap, do yourself a favour and pay a little bit more in order to have a good time!

Nice people in a so so location and facilities ”

I liked the staff who were very helpful even before I was checked in. The malls were pretty good with decent prices. There was too much sand in the yard and it kept getting into my room. There were too many dogs at this hotel and next for so there was a lot of baking in the morning. Great location for diving at Exotic divers shop.

Very good”

Great location- a short walk to the beach + dive shops (Evolution and Exotic); good food for a decent price; friendly dogs and cats on the property; roosters in the surrounding area which crow early and often; our shower had light pressure or sometimes didn’t work . Overall, happy with our stay. Would stay there again since the location was good and it was cheap.

Lovely staff”

The hotel is just off the beach and the budget rooms are very basic but the people running this little guesthouse are so welcoming and friendly that you don't mind the basic standard.

The island is not so big so this hotel is located inside of the island but it was not so problem. We ordered some food and it was nice.

Great Food”

Most of their meals were great! With the location it's quite far from the beach you will need to walk the narrow streets. The facilities will be great with some improvements i would suggest concrete pathways going to the rooms so guest won't directly to the soil imagine if it's raining it would be muddy & slippery. Also regular maintenance of their pool. Provide towels equals to the number guests in the room. Staffs are accommodating. Overall still had a great time and will recommend this place.

Can't expect much for cheap price”

I can understand that this place is cheap comparing to other places at this island, but at least could be a little bit more cleaner! Seriously. Even for little money guests deserve to sleep in a clean bed and take a shower in a clean bathroom. I am not even sure if somebody cleaned the room after previous guest because I found some garbage and stains on the bed sheets.
