"Amazing Hotel, My Home Away from Home!"”

Landscaping, views, friendliness of staff

this hotel is strongly recommended, especially for couples and eco-tourists. the hotel grounds are among the most beautiful that i have even seen with views of the bay and landscaping that would make you think you were in a museum! the rooms were quite nice with large, comfortable, and well decorated beds. the staff was extremely helpful and friendly and gave you a personal welcome among arrival. the hotel is about a 15 minute drive from puerto princesa however the hotel has a driver who for a nominal fee will drive you to town in an air-conditioned van or to any tourist site or restaurant and will wait for you. my girlfriend and i strongly recommend this hotel and will gladly stay here again when we return to palawan.

Great Personalized Service”

Scenic view with great service

situated within the rural part of puerto princesa, the hotel provided amazing scenery and service. having stayed just before christmas 2011, we were the only guests for all but one night (where we extended the stay for two more nights). as a result, we received great service. the land yields delicious tree-ripened fruit (e.g., papaya), which was served to guests. being in the rural area meant a bit longer travel times with the return trip by tricycle costing peso from downtown), but cheaper going.

Peaceful oasis for relaxation”

Open restaurant area with a view, wonderful driver

if you enjoy basic but clean, quiet and well-maintained place full of nature and local charm without going too far out of town, you will love mbt (as they call it). take the seaview room if you can, which are small loft-type rooms with small balcony. restaurant area overlooks the small bay where you see local fishermen rowing out in the morning, and stays breezy during the day (mosquito repellent needed in the evening though). food is rather basic but ok and the service "palawan style", i.e., slow and relaxed but very nice and helpful. there are no restaurants/establishments nearby, so arrange to be driven into town for dinners etc., and stash some basic foodstuff (water, snacks, etc.) in your fridge.

the place was quite with spa services and a good enough bar

Since we arrived late into Puerto Princesa the drive to the resort was quite far. It's quite far from the main city although it is still part of puerto princesa. staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was so-so.

Nice Hotel and Staff”

Nice hotel and good food.

it's about a 15 minute drive from the airport area. the cheapest way do travel to and from here is to just rent a motorcycle or scooter. they will pick you up from the airport but they charge way to much. i rented a motorcycle for 6 days for about the same price as 1 ride from the airport from the hotels shuttle. the lady at the front desk did offer her motorbike to me so that i could ride to the city and rent the motorcycle and that was more than nice of her. they try hard but aren't exactly professional. the same lady that let me borrow her motorbike also serves food, runs the front desk, cleans rooms, gives massages, and does the pedi's and mani's. the pedicure was a joke and she burped all through the massage. definetly wouldn't recommend any of the hotel services except the clothes washing service and the food service. the hotel and rooms are also nice but the view is just ok. nothing too great although it is peaceful. i would stay again.

Beautiful hotel but service needs immprovement”

great overall designed resort, very relaxing ambiance and the medi-spa & eco resort to enjoy in palawan

the moment i set eyes on the place, i fell in love with it. first night of our stay, i think me and my partner are the only guests. the staff assigned to assist us was very nice and accommodating. however, on my second night, the last night of our stay in palawan with my group of friends, the service was a lot slower and leaves a lot to want. i was told that there was another group from a tv station from manila and it seems that the place was understaffed to accommodate our group and theirs. it took a long while before our dinner was completely served and the lighting was poor. what we did all enjoy is the whole body scrub and massage plus and the manicure and pedicure which was a real treat.

Quiet and relaxing away from the town.”

If you want a place away from it all this is the place to stay.

Very disappointing. Main reason to to to Puerto Princesa was to go to the underground river. Hotel sent a lovely 4 page letter to give prices for tours and spa service as soon as I booked. I asked to be booked into the underground river. It appears that Manila office did not pass on this information, hense I could not see the underground river. I asked the ladies to book me on a tour so I could see the Butterfly garden. I got the City Tour and they did not go to the Butterfly garden. From pictures the spa services look fantastic, they are not a permanent fixture, they call in the spa ladies when required which means I couldnt slip in and get something done. Food nice but they ran out of drinks which was odd because there was only me and another group of 4 staying. Seaview room should be named riverview, because thats what it looks like.

The room is spacious and clean

The Hotel is clean and the customer service is good. The place is relaxing because the environment is surrounded by plants and trees. You can feel the coolness and calmness of the night when you hear the sound of the night animals. Its really a wonderful experience because the hotel staff and crew are friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious. Lastly, the room is spacious and clean.

Very stylist resort but small rooms”

New and well decorated resort

We stayed here for three nights when we were in Palawan. This is a beautiful looking resort with helpful staff. We had been staying in Puerto Princessa and wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Unfortunately this resort is located too far from civilization which basically means you are stuck there without any transport. There are some negatives to this place which are worth mentioning: 1. There are no shops or restaurants anywhere near the resort. This means that you have to eat at the resort's restaurant. The food here is not that good, small quantities and bad value for money. My shrimp curry consisted of 4 shrimp and some rice. 2. The view from the Mountain(?) is rubbish. Unless of course you like looking at mud and mangroves. 3. There's not much to do at the resort. This is great for relaxing but not any good if you want excitement. 4. The beds are really small and the double bed is more like a 3/4 size. Lucky neither of us are tall.

Quiet hotel with great sea view”

sea views, romantic couple resort, nice staff

we have great experience in this hotel. Staff is nice, the view is great. Just the room size is not as big as we expect. We choose the ocran view room, a loft style. However, the first floor is a bit too small, and the 2nd floor we barely have chance to use it. So if you travel with family, this will be a great choice. For couple, the space is a bit tight. Beside, the location is a bit far and secret from everywhere. Need some patience to find it.

Scenary around the resort is fantastic.

The access to the resort is not great, rough road. Scenery around the hotel is fantastic and quiet as I wanted. The service was great and the people are friendly. However, the bed in the Senior Suite is due for a replacement. The water supply is not great and you feel sticky after a shower. Overall, value for money and a quiet and relaxing environment.

none

My wife, daughter(12) and myself stayed booked Mountain's Bay Touch for 3 nights, but cancelled this to only 2 nights the day after we arrived. Reasons: 1) They say they got a sauna and whirlpool, but it was not working. 2) About half the things on the foodmenu isn't available. 3) The advertise with a nice location, but there is really nothing around but swamp, bumby roads, lots of insects (because of the low water) 4) The staff is slow, its takes them 45 minutes to deliver an ice-tea, while we sat alone in the restaurant. 5) A 'fruitsalad' was delivered with warm sweet(sugar) milk. Perhaps this is a local thing that I was not aware of, but I didn't like it. It also containted canned fruits 6) Small rooms 7) Shower without a curtain (toilet gets wet during showering) 8) Shower gets from cold to warm and back to cold. No fun to take a shower this way. I could continue, but I think this says already enough. I would strongly advise to book another hotel.
