Nice basic accommodation in Malapascua”

A very basic resort. This resort is a bit further away from the main tourist areas of Malapascua Island. We actually enjoyed the walk from the main tourist areas to our accommodation. It was nice to actually explore the island this way. The rooms are very basic, however this is no problem given most of the time you are going to be out anyway. The breakfast was nice but nothing to write home about.

Wonderful staff at Moonlight”

The staff at Moonlight are the best! They have so helpful during our mishap in the island. They went beyond their ways to make sure that we were accommodated and our problem was resolved. Their service went over and beyond our stay. They are people that you can truly count on. As for the resort, it is situated in the middle of Bounty Beach (boat dock) and Langub Beach (Best beach in Malapascua). The resort is a no-frill resort and the basic necessities are available.

Excellent”

This resort is located on the interior part of the island. You will walk for about 10 minutes to get to the beach but you will get the excellent services from the staff that you deserve. They are so accommodating and will address all your needs. For the price you pay, you get more. I will surely recommend if you want to travel and save more.

Although it is a bit of a walk to the beach, I liked staying at the Moonlight Resort..... Anywhere in the island is pretty close to the beach...nice place to stay...

Clean and spatious rooms, in a quiet spot, with super nice staff! ”

The staff is very helpful and sweet; the rooms are very big (I stayed in the deluxe and the standard ones), clean, and because the resort is slightly further north than other places, it is very calm and quiet. I would definitely recommand this place!

Excellent”

We were two couples in that room. The apartment was fine and big, it's hard to find, there are no sign at all and the location in google maps it doesn't match. The owner is friendly, giving u what u need! About the room, there were some cockroaches but i think it is because of the location. Despite that, it's clean, comfy and does the job!

nice, quiet place ”

Situated little outside the village, only 5 min walk, but far enough not to hear karaoke. Very clean room (unfortunately, mosquito net had holes) and great breakfast in the morning. Friendly staff.

Will not recommend this for groups”

This hotel is far from the good beaches in Malapascua, I recommend that you look for other hotels near the beaches because this is like 15 minute away from the boat rides. Also, please beware of the unauthorized tour guides that the staffs are contacting. Someone offered us a boat ride around the island, we were 6 in our group bu according to other guides,the boat can only accommodate 2. We were in the shipwreck area when our boat cap-sized, it is a good thing that my friends have their vest on. Please be careful when booking island hoping tour in the island. Always look for their ID to be sure that they are authorized.

It is not on the Beach”

Very average. Paid more to lessen motorbike road noise. Not close to most popular beach which is Bounty.. The beach nearby is crowded with fishing boats. If your not a diver better off at Bantayan Island much better beach.

Good hotel if small budget”

With my husband we stayer there three nights. The rooms are good and not toi far from the main beach (5-10min walking). The wifi connexion works pretty well. The food at the reception restaurant is expensive but not bad. The breakfast is also good but we asked twice for more toasts and they charged us at the end 100 pesos for it!!! Which is a looooot, you can have a delicious meal (fish curry, chicken tomato etc) for less than 100 pesos at Gin Gin restaurant... Overall if you decide to stay at moonlight it is not a bad option for those with a small buget but I would recommend to not eat there. If we have the chance to come back we will try another place...

So so stay”

We booked in for 6 nights, the staff were polite at first but after we the second night we switched to a fan only room which wasn't what was in agoda description. It was above a road intersection in a tree house setup, in fact it was so bad because there are dirt bikes going day and night, there was no window, the shower was broken(the staff didn't fix it), the was only a stand fan, and our bags weren't transferred. When we asked where they were the resort manager said, "you can either move them now or they'll be moved when we have time." So we lumped our bags around and up to our replacement room. I had to make all kind of threats to get into the VACANT room up the hill. I said I would email agoda, and the manager said, "Go ahead, we don't care it says right in the ad that hour room is above a dirt bike road, we don't care!" She smiled I asked for the owners email address in Austria and it wasn't produced. Finally they refuse to provide a coffee with a second meal as in the menu.

A quiet and secluded place”

It is the perfect place to relax and evade from society for a couple of days. Other hotels in the island are more western styled and can be even noisy at night (for such a place..). The small sacrifice to pay is that it is 10min walking from the beach, but it also makes the experience more authentic for being closer to the old village and sharing the daily activities with the locals.

Close to the main port, spacious room, and perfect price”

10 minuts by walking from the main beach, the room is quite big and clean, and it has wifi. Very friendly!

food are nice and worth the price. if you want peaceful environment this is the place. not beach front. 7mins walk from the port area but far from other resort. Very friendly staff.

We stayed only 2 night but the room was very clean and the staff very friendly and gentle!

AVOID AT ANY COST”

Gave me the room above a road intersection. Argued to blame me and charged me for a coffee included in the breakfast. The shower is damaged and not fixed when requested. There is no overhead fan and no hot water. Night staff tried to blackmail extra cash from me and when I refused there was a huge confrontation. The booking price was the same for myself alone or myself and my spouse. The manager was called and she said, "the customer is always right" So on the 4th night of my booking my trip has been destroyed. My wife will not receive any breakfast. They also said I was not to receive any powdered coffee for my additional meals. Even though the menu says I am to receive that. Then upon leaving on the last day I was extorted by the owners daughter and the thug squad of municipal cops. We couldn't leaving the island without giving them everything we had in in our wallets including credit cards. The municipal police commander forced me to remove the Facebook review of Moonlight Resort because he said "it is illegal to desecrate a business in the Philippines, this isn't your country"

Nice room, good value for money”

Had a nice stay in this resort. Only downsides: it geds hot in the room, for divers its little bit far from the dive shops..

Not Gonna Recommend”

My cousin and I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. On our 2nd day, we ordered a continental breakfast coz I had an early morning dive and needed to eat something before it. We were surprised when it was served to us, it was just 3 sliced of toasted bread with a spoonful of mango jam. They didn’t even give us a service water. We don’t mind actually paying for pricey but it wasn’t worth the price. We end up eating outside the resort most of the time. As for the room condition, it was spacious and the bed was comfy but the room was smelly and there were roaches crawling in the toilet. We needed to spray the room some air freshener or open the window from time to time.

Amazing ”

This place was fantastic! We got a free upgrade and a late check-out, no problem. Room was big, bathroom was clean, little balcony was a nice touch. Halfway between ferry port and dive shops. Definitely recommend!

Very good”

The room was nice, worth it's price. But there was no hot water all weekend. That's a bit disappointing
