Internationl Drive's Best Hotel Deal In Orlando, Florida”

The Monumental Movieland Hotel is just that. It's a very convenient location, more than fair pricing, though the restaurant is pricey, it's good food. Everything and any thing you want or need to do, can be done within walking distance to the Monumental Movieland Hotel. The property is well kept and employees are very attentive to make sure that your stay is going well and always offer help or if there is anything they can do for you. I have stayed there twice within 6 months. I was impressed the first time and even more impressed duringthe second stay.

Great budget friendly hotel”

I stayed at the Monumental Movieland hotel for 4 nights and I must say that it exceeded my expectations. The staff were helpful, room and facilities adequate and clean, and most importantly GREAT LOCATION on International drive. The only cons were the wifi wasn't reliable and the room had a musty odor. But for what we paid and the service we got, I would recommend this hotel.

Will Definitely Go Back”

We really enjoyed our stay at Monumental Movieland. It was really affordable and we were expecting a seedy hotel but it's not. It's kid and family friendly. A lot of shops, eat all you can buffet, restaurants, and fast food around it.

We would stay again...location - location - location!!!”

My husband and I loved the location of this hotel, only 15-20 minute walk to the two Universal Parks where you will also find the bus stops including the free bus to Volcano Bay. There is a bus stop right outside for the i-drive hopper also very close are the lynx bus stops which we used for getting to the airport. The hotel itself was excellent for the price and star rating. I would definitely stay again. The front of house staff were friendly and helpful. It was clean and tidy. The room attendants did a great job (but I would have preferred they left the clean towels earlier in the day) The swimming pool was much needed after a long hot day sightseeing or theme parking! I had it to myself most of our stay. Overall the hotel was great but I would have liked the window to open even just a tiny bit - I understand why they don't open but it would have been nice for a bit of fresh air to come in.

Decent for the Price”

I have stayed here a few times before. Literally minutes from Universal (just cross bridge going over I4 and turn right into the parking area). It isn't fancy. There is a $100 deposit they take at the start of stay and return back at the end. Rooms is decent size. They all have fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel. Only have had the $7.99 breakfast buffet-nothing to write home about. MANY tourist shops and restaurants down the road that can be walked to. This is one of my go to hotels for a cheap couple day getaway to FL.

Cheap place to stay very close to parks ”

I was nervous going to this hotel because of so many mixed reviews but I’m glad I did. Super affordable price if you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep while you’re in the theme parks! Excellent location minutes from Magic kingdom and Universal. I will say the hotel is a bit outdated but very well kept. Friendly staff and check in was super quick and easy, they even let us check in hours before check in time ! Will be visiting again next vacation

Good bang for your dollar ”

I booked at the monumental Movieland because of the price and location . Both did not disappoint. Read a lot of other reviews and was apprehensive of my choice Rooms were large basically clean a little out dated but for what you pay you shouldn’t expect a five star Hilton suite Staff wasn’t very accommodating Didn’t even have a bandaid when I accidentally cut my finger Just a quick no and turned their back Asked about shuttle service same thing quick no and nothing else If motel could do one thing to make it better Work on the staff to be friendly and helpful you are in the hospitality industry

Better Than Just Nice”

A very nice place to stay. The staff are very nice and friendly and helpful. And for the area that it is located, is perfect for folks from out of town and want to see some sites and enjoy good food all around you. I strongly recommend the extended stay option. The price is more than reasonable, the Hotel makes for a good origin point for anything around Orlando, if you care to venture farther out. It felt very "homey".

perfect location”

perfect location for one night on International Drive before travelling further afield. Had microwave and fridge in room which is perfect if you are staying for a longer time and don't want to eat out constantly. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. rooms were nice a spacious and free car parking.

Helpful staff and excellent location”

If you want to stay close to the Universal Studios parks, this is the place to stay in! It's fairly cheap and the rooms are good for the price. You can actually walk to Universal Studios (20 min). Staff is super friendly and very helpful! There are plenty of restaurants around so you will never go hungry. There is also a Walgreens just nearby so you can do some snacks shopping if you would like to before going to the parks.

I have stayed at Monumental Movieland Hotel three times and it is a nice place for the price they charge you. Location is excellent, practically next to Universal Studios. The rooms are ok, although I think the bathrooms should be cleaned better for new guests. Other than that it's a place that is perfect if you want to just have a nice, small room to sleep in while you are having fun as a tourist.

Cheap super close to Universal”

The place was great super cheap and super close to Universal Orlando. It was okey for our group since we only use it to sleep because we spent the entire day at the park.

Monumental mixup”

Booked this place in error.... meant to book monumental hotel NOT movieland. There were bugs crawling on my bathroom counter and a tiny lizard was on the table every morning. Had to go to front desk twice to get my key cards to work. Every morning the entrance nearest to my room was the smokers gathering within 3 feet of the doorway so I went way around to the other doors after being stuck on one occasion in the smoke when my key card was not working properly. The floor in my room was very dirty. I had to keep a wet washcloth at my bedside to clean my feet upon getting into bed. Beds were NOT comfy. Room smelled like wet dish rags. Dehumidifier in the room was full to capacity. I emptied it but was surprised that housekeeping didn’t do this. The curtains on the window were very dusty/ dirty. The parking scene at night was creepy and felt a bit unsafe. The neighboring restaurants were a big plus., but for my purpose of work, the location was inconvenient.

A convenient place to stay when visiting Disney and Universal. Good restaurants, carnival sites, city bus us routs are very near. To price we paid rooms are with all necessities and clean.

Monumental Movieland Hotel”

Great location.20 min walking to Universal. Food market nearby. There is bus stop right outside the hotel, esay to get to Outlets. Has shuttle bus to Disneyland. However, it took me 30 min to check in and ran up and down twice for the room key.

Exceptional”

great access several doors for you to get to your apartment without the need to go through the main entrance I really enjoyed recommending it to anyone who wants to know Orlando staying in this very pleasant environment.

Was across the rd from wet n wild and a 15 min walk from Universal so was great! Would go again, staff were friendly and helpful and rooms had good amenities like microwave.

Great Hotel for the price”

The Location of this hotel is amazing is 15 min walking from the universal parks. The rooms have a fridge, coffee maker and microwave that comes it handing if you buy your own food and want to keep it for later. The pool looked great even when we didn't have time to use it.

Sadly gone downhill”

I have stayed at this hotel 15-20 times. Originally the Best Western Movieland Hotel. Although this is a very basic hotel I have always said ‘you get what you pay for’ this time however, I didn’t pay for Roaches but, I got them anyway. This hasn’t happened before so, on morning of Day 2 I reported it. Noe sign of them again that day but day 4 & 5 of my five day stay I had roaches again. I was told each time that it would be sorted. It is sad that this hotel has been allowed to deteriorate. A brand new budget Universal hotel is opening soon right across the road (on the site of the old Wet n Wild). It would be a good idea if Monumental Movieland hotel invested some money into their property to accommodate any overspill from the new hotel. On the good side, the bar downstairs is very good and the Black Angus Steakhouse is excellent value for money.

If visiting the Universal Parks this hotel is in the midst of it all. Also, many restaurants close by. It does have some remodeling projects going on but it was worth the inexpensive stay.
