Lovely Staff and Cool Tours”

Stayed here when I first arrived in HCMC, I was impressed by the atmosphere, reasonable price and air conditioning in the rooms. But what impressed me the most were some of the staff, particularly Duy and Nhu. These guys spent plenty of time helping me out when my card got taken by an ATM and giving advice on travel around the city and Vietnam in general. The service they offer is excellent, I never felt reluctant to ask for help; Duy and Nhu were incredibly generous with their time and energy despite dealing with many other tasks and issues at the same time. I really felt welcome and at home at Saigon 1979 Hostel and that is thanks to the wonderful, kind and helpful people who work there!

Very good staff and location”

Location is very good. I just don't like that I am in the rooftop and I need to take the stairs for 7 floors. Very good staff especially Huy. He was able to provide me preview and tips during my 1st day in Ho Chi Minh. The room id quite dark for me but it is fine.

Good Homestay and Vintage Style”

Good location in center of District 1 With vintage and countryside style in hotel which is suitable for any one who like travel with low price and countryside. Receptionist is so friendly and open Oversea tourists will love here....

Exceptional”

It's a 3 min walk to buey vien which is where all the nightlife is. I had a spacious bed but it was on the 4th floor. They're real accommodating to guest. I arrived at 6am and they placed me in a room right away. Rooftop bar that also serves food.i always stay here when I'm in Saigon

The irresponsible reception girl ruined our day”

We booked Cu Chi tannel evening trip by the hotel. The pick-up time was 1PM. We were taking our lunch in a restaurant just beside the hotel. We came back at 12.56. But the reception girl said the tour bus left us. I asked how could they left before 1PM. But the girl didn’t give us any appropriate answer. It was our last day in Ho Chi Minh. So, We tried to go by our own. It was 10 times expensive than the group tour.

Exceptional”

Mobylette is a nice little hostel. I liked the rooftop bar a lot, the beds are so comfy and I loved the blanket. Definitely come back when I'm in Saigon again. If I need to add something that was a bit less is the music choice at the rooftop bar, but everyone has a different taste right?!

Nice room with one problem”

Pros: Main staff member speaks perfect English. Double room was nicely decorated, and breakfast was tasty (although quite standard for Vietnam). The hotel was clean and is a great location for walking to most attractions. The free drink upon check in was a nice gesture which made us feel welcome. Cons: The walls of the double room on the top floor were made of wood and had lots of gaps/holes in them. We discovered several pieces of mouse poo on our bed and even saw a mouse twice in our room. The poo was falling through some cracks in the ceiling, which i think needs to be looked at asap.

Accomodating staffs and good location. ”

We stayed here for 3 days, the Mobylette Saigon staffs were accomodating and friendly during our stay. Also, we do love the breakfast in the rooftop. Ergo, we surely recommend this hostel for travelers, like me.

It was okay”

Location was okay. We never had trouble whenever we will go back to hostel. The drivers easily locate it. Cleanliness was also okay and staff are nice. They would help you with your concerns. We never had a chance to eat breakfast there as they were not yet serving even it was almost 8 and says they will start serving at 7. But there are couple of restaurants outside so it's not a big problem. I am just not comfortable staying in the room as most of the roommates are long term staying there and there was someone who looked at us so badly when we back from outside and we were settling our things. We were just putting some of our plastic bags (from shopping) inside our backpacks as we will leave early the next day. I think it would be better if they would separate long term guests so they would not be bothered much when a traveller who will stay short and very busy and excited make noises besides it is a dormitory they should be more considerate.

Perfect stay”

Staff is super friendly and helpful, clean and comfortable rooms. Had an issue with the locker in my room having a broken lock, since it couldn't be fixed on the fly I was upgraded to a double bed dorm free of charge - most comfortable dorm bed I've ever slept in. Very central, 5min walk from Bui Vien street, close to lots of restaurants and bars. They even exchanged currency on my last day at zero fees.

Too noisy and not safe in the room ”

Every one can go into the room some customers say they are lose some things in the room when he going to the toilet, they are losing his shirt and mobile phone, the staff is not responsive enough when some things happen. Noise is because they staff are always chatting with someone in the room and open music too loud.

Most amazing stay ”

This is a really good hostel. Incredible hospitality and the cleanliness. I will definitely come back! Stay here if you want value for your money

Everything you could evet need ”

Awesome free breakfast + rooftop + kind and helpful staff + not so expensive laundry + huge beds with privacy curtain = what else can you need.

Cheap, good value in HCMC”

We stayed in the King View room for one night which was a great room, all wooden and very airy. Only downside was a used condom in the corner that the cleaners had missed. The fridge was stocked with lots of water and bathroom had soap & some toiletries. We’d have stayed longer but the room was booked the day after so we then moved to the dorm. The double was small for two people but it was cheap and the room was fairly well air conditioned. However the bathroom had no toiletries, not even soap to wash hands after the toilet. Location is good just minutes from Bui Vien walking street and it was one of the cheapest places around. Fine as a base for exploring HCMC.

Decent place in a good location ”

Great location but they put me in a room full of Indians living there long term. Stayed up until 4 am every night. Kinda noisy, I heard a lot of complaints about Bed bugs too! Weak AC

Best place to stay in district 1”

This place has everything you can ask for. Awesome breakfast menu (included, if not only 30k đồng). Clean and nice bathrooms. Very comfortable beds. Privacy curtains. Light and socket. Rooftop bar with 30k beer. Could be 20k as well - I cannot remember very well. There is restaurant right next to family mart, which is like 2 minutes to the hostel, with Obama's face on it and it is delicious. Also close to wet market. Really lively in the morning. Oh and amazing staff. Especially the receptionist lady in the morning. Very kind people. Only thing is that place could do with hand soap in the bathrooms though. Will come back definitely.
