Amazing value for money. I read the bad reviews first and here’s my review of the bad reviews: 1/ no soap or towels - this is common for a hostel. Most backpackers will bring their own toiletries and towels. Just remember to prepare for this 2/ dirty - It is very clean for an old building. It’s a beautiful building but naturally it won’t be as clean as a new build. I felt it was as clean as it could get. Also keep in mind it is a hostel, not a hotel 3/ staff were unkind - I interacted with three staff members and all were very polite. Remember to say Bonjour/bonsoir, be kind to people and they’ll be kind to you. 4/ they have multiple buildings which causes confusion - this is normal for Europe. Much like universities, a campus is North America is completely enclosed whereas the top poli sci school in Paris has classrooms in multiple buildings spread across an area. They are not hard to find. Overall I am so impressed by my stay. Really amazing location and friendly staff. They have a baggage locker in case you want to leave your bags somewhere after checkout. I felt very safe as a single female traveller and there is a great bar just outside! My only complaint would be the breakfast food - I recommend going out and buying a croissant. It’s all about value for money though. I’m glad they offer a mediocre breakfast to keep prices low for travellers.
