Midtown Hotel: Worth for your money”

We spent three nights at Midtown Hotel. When we arrive from the airport we did the check in very quickly, no more than ten minuits. The hotel is a modern 20 storey building with ample rooms. The desk staff are young and lovely girls and boys with high english level, very efficient and attentive. The buffet breakfast was full and varied, the restaurant has a very good level with reasonable prices . . . and performances at dinner!!, the laundry is excellent. When we leave to Yogyakarta we did the check out very quickly again and they keep our luggage until time to depart to airport. Definetly worth for your money, if we visit again Surabaya for sure we'll come back to Midtown Hotel.

Almost Perfect Stay”

when in a new city, let alone a foreign country it's always good to have a place that you could come back to for assistance if need be and a bit of a respite. midtown was great. staff was very friendly and tri at the front desk helped save my trip. i wanted to travel from surabaya to jakarta by train and when i mentioned that to her on checking in she said that the trains were all booked up because it was a holiday week. uh oh. but, she called up a local travel agent and got me an air ticket to jkt instead. whew! i had originally though of just showing up at the train station on the morning of and getting a ticket. the room itself was in excellent condition, everything in place and it all worked. nothing weird like my jakarta hotel which turned out to have only one plug. it was missing a clothesline but that was missing from my hotel in jakarta too. breakfast was good with a small selection that still managed to hit all the expected points such as cereal, noodles, rice, meat and veggies. do not bother with the a la carte option. the coffee was excellent although i had to go like a beggar with my cup in hand for my first cup. that was probably the lowest point of my stay other than the fact that the front desk was always a zoo. turns out that my stay coincided with some sort of holiday week. location was excellent, as others have pointed out, the biggest mall in surabaya is less than a ten minute walk away and i could see it from my room. wi-fi connectivity was quite good but their network will knock you off if you go inactive. not much else to say other than that i would definitely stay here again. it'll be my choice if and when i try for the bromo area.

new hotel with prime location”

1. A new hotel with prime location, located in the central of Surabaya. within 10min walk to the famous Tunjungan Plaza - for shopping, eating etc. there is a McCafe opposite of Tunjungan Plaza. 2. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and smells nice!! 3. Bluebird taxi is always just right infront of the hotel, there is no problem about getting a taxi to Tunjungan plaza (around Rp5000) or Gubeng Train Station (less than rp25,000) around 20minutes. Cost of the taxi back from Tunjungan Plaza will be "triple" of Rp5000 as it is a one-way road back to midtown hotel. 4. Efficient service from the staff! we stayed 2 different days here. the first night was by walk-in, although the hotel was already full occupied, but the staff were nice enough to try and get us 2 rooms. within half ah hour, we were given 2 rooms(side-by-side), and with special price! 5. Room card are required to access the lift. good and secure. Room are consider quite spacious. 6. Free breakfast comes with the room, but i found that the additional person cost for the breakfast is a little bit costly (Rp97,500). breakfast is consider tasteful, lots of variety to choose from (Western + Asian food available). 7. There is a 10 minutes free massage if you booked an hour massage service. 8. Free wifi available on each room, excellent coverage! 9. Cons: one toiletries kit was given although it is a double room. Last, will definitely stay here agian if i visit Surabaya agian!

Marvelous Room”

Stayed with my hubby and little one at the marvelous room for 3nights. Very affordable price for the biggest room in their hotel. Aircon wasn't strong on day of check in and upon informing them about this, they immdtly send in their maintenance team to look into it and rectified it. It was freezing for the rest of my trip. Good job guys! Good breakfast and daily complimentary snacks for our room. Only thing is no mini fridge in room. And i feel that the towel wasn't changed during the room cleaning. It smelled. Other than that all was very good. Friendly respectful staff. About 5mins walking distance to tunjungan plaza. About 5mins taxi ride to the maritime museum and plaza surabaya. However airport and their theme park was a far taxi ride esp when its peak period. Taxis are available all the time, the reception can get you one whenever you need it. Overall thumbs up Midtown! Only downside is the curtains in the room were very dusty & needs cleaning and washing! And no swimming pool.

Value for Money”

I recommend Midtown Hotel Surabaya if you are looking for a value-for-money stay in Surabaya. It's quite central to everything. I take Uber and it costs me $1 to go to Tunjungan Plaza (the city's biggest mall). The hotel has decent amenities. Pillow is King Koil's, nice and firm (I know this is subjective). For the kind of price you pay, I am not expecting extra mile service but they did pretty well. My wife asked for hair-dryer but the guest service said it is on loan basis and it was currently used by others (my first time experiencing hotel having guests queuing up for hair-dryer). Wall is pretty thin as we can hear vividly the sound of other guests running around, talking along the corridor. Overall a pretty satisfying stay.

New Hotel with Great location.”

I see the advertisement on Airport, and I think this hotel is new, then I try it. I know the street where hotel located is main street of Surabaya. When my client office driver drop me to this hotel, quite surprise for me, since the entrance of the building is quite small, for the driver you must be careful when bring your car to lobby or from parking area to lobby, there is no space for more than 2 cars to stay at front lobby. The receptionist is very kind, bellboy are helpful and skilled, immediately try to taking care all of my bag. I allow him for my luggage. Corridor is quite narrow, only enough space for 2 people, not comfort for more. I found a lady has been hurt by bellboy who bring a luggage wheelbarrow. Room is big enough and clean, WiFi is slow. Breakfast is good enough. The location of hotel is benefit, it is exactly on the center of Surabaya, easy to go anyplace in Surabaya.

I have an one night stay at this hotel with friends. Hotel located at the central which can reach the shooping mall within a walking distance. It is very convenient. Nice and clean hotel room with a good service and friendly staff.have an pleasure stay there. Midtown hotel is highly recommended to those who travel to Surabaya. Will stay here again for my second visit.

great location very small room”

Midtown is a new hotel in surabaya. the location is great especially if you dont have a car to drive around. for those with a car, they have valet service that do not demand any tips, so it is also very nice. the only problem i have is with the room. i use the groovy unit, which turned out to be the smallest. we met the beds immediately after opening the door. even the table for writing is very limited. The bathroom, fortunately, is not that small but no shampoo, comb, soap like othe rhotels with the same class. The room is clean, the tv is good, the channels are nice and close to everywhere such as bookstore, restaurant.

Really Good Hotel ”

I always try to book Midtown Hotel when I visit Surabaya - it is a pleasant hotel and the rooms are a nice size and I really enjoy the breakfast because the Dining Room is so pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in Surabaya.

Nice and friendly hotel”

I reserved 4 rooms for myself and friends at the Midtown Hotel and paid thru internet. When we arrived at the hotel all my friends thanked me for choosing a nice and good hotel,the room was clean and comfortable. We had a good breakfast with a variety of food and fruits. Our trip to Surabaya was a success.

Acceptable Business Hotel”

You can tell that Midtown is a new hotel by the look of lobby and rooms. Everything is in good condition and hopefully will remain so with good up-keeping. The hotel provides all the basic amenities required for the business or leisure traveller. The size of room and bathroom was just right, not too small to feel budget. Quality of bed linen and towels just pass and you can't complain for the price paid. There are surprisingly numerous TV channels so you won't get bored in the room. Wifi internet is also readily available but don't expect the fastest speeds. The breakfast was alright, although the place was very full and I had to share a table. The problem is the staff just let me in without bringing me to a table, so I had to ask to share. There is a major shopping mall just 10mins walk away from the hotel. Convenient to relax and for some food. All in all, keeping in mind the budget price, Midtown Hotel is a worthwhile option for visitors to Surabaya.

Value for money, good location”

We spent New Year's Eve at Hotel Midtown, Marvelous / Fabulous room. Several things we like: - Marvelous Room / Fabulous has two wide window side, so that we have two alternative for city sights eeing. - Fast checkin - Value for money - Strategic location. Right next to the hotel there is a "Dapur Desa" restaurant serving Indonesian culinary. Just +/- 5 minute walk we will see Tunjungan Plaza one of the largest mall in Surabaya. Midtown hotel is located in a wide crowded city main road so easy to find a taxi Some things we did not like: - Cramped parking. Parking area is small. - Valley parking wait too long - There are no facilities for families (pool, recreation room), because the hotel is intended for businesses

Comfortable and centrally located hotel”

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay at the Midtown Hotel in Surabaya. The staff were very welcoming. We arrived quite late at night and the hotel had run out of non smoking rooms, even though I had requested a non smoking room. The staff apologized and promised to change the room in the morning. The smell of cigarette smoke was quite strong, but we had no other option than to put up with it for a night. The receptionist, as promised, called us in the morning and offered a non smoking room. The breakfast was good, we particularly enjoyed omelets. The hotel is located near the Surabaya zoo, it was great to see Komodo dragons. Also, it's close to a large shopping mall and restaurants. Overall, we're pleased with our stay and will certainly consider staying at the Midtown Hotel if we ever visit Surabaya again.

Nice Hotel in Tunjungan Area”

Overall very satisfied with this hotel. Hotel located in Tunjungan area in Surabaya City Centre, near from Tunjungan Plaza just 5 minutes walk. Also very near to Embong Belimbing road which there are lots of stall selling fried rice, fried noodle, noodle soup and soto ayam. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were spacious and very clean,also both room lightning really satisfying. We get twin room in 15th floor, the window was quite big and we get beautiful city view of Surabaya during day and night. The staff performance also really excellent, they always serve us very well.

great value, location and new furnishings”

We used Surabaya has an entry point for visits to Yogyakarta and Mt Bromo. Would highly recommend Midtown as a base in Surabaya for these side trips. Clean and comfortable and the staff works hard to assure a nice stay. Taxis are at the door. Big mall just a walk down the road. Lots of budget friendly promotions offered.

midtown hotel has very best location, it is at the downtown surabaya. There is supermarket nearby and tunjungan plaza is very near , around 5 minutes walking. Staffs are friendly and helpfull i am super satisfy stay in this hotel

New Hotel on The Block”

Located near Tunjungan Plaza, this hotel literally lives up to its name - Midtown. At first I was quite stunned with their room rate, which is cheaper during weekend, because it's very affordable for that level of quality. This hotel is relatively new, but can keep up with the competition due to its low price, strategic location, and great service. The lobby was super small, but nicely decorated, and so was the room. Check-in was fast and the staffs were really helpful. The breakfast was also nice, although the food selections were limited. Oh, and the dining area was pleasant. Overall, this is a perfect hotel for business trip in Surabaya, but don't expect anything other than that (swimming pool, spa, etc.)

Comfortable business hotel”

The Groovy room equipped with a king sized bed is cozy with the view of the bustling streets of basuki rahmat, and the hotel itself is within 10 mins walk to Tunjungan plaza, big shopping mall that caters for every needs. McD and KFS are only opposite the Tunjungan mall. Taxi are available all the time in front of the hotel, just tell the hotel staff and they will flag down one for you. Customer service is great, and they provide welcome drinks to all guests. They even lend us a hairdryer, some power adapters when requested. TV provided in the room can access many international channels, so you won't get bored! It was a very pleasant stay at Midtown hotel.
