Mermaid dive shop is owned and operated by the Mermaid Resort. It’s a short walk from the main resort to the waterfront dive shop. The dive operation is exceptional! High quality equipment. They have their own NITROX equipment for filling tanks. They have 3 speedboats at the dive center. 2 are twin engine speedboats. The also have large tops on the boats to keep you in the shade. Most dive operators there in sabang using old wooden slow boats. Don’t miss doing the full day diving trip to Isla Verde. Isla Verde is a short boat ride and has greater amounts of wild life. The surface interval at Isla Verde is spent on the beach enjoying a fresh BBQ cooked by the boat captain and dive instructor. We had chicken, pork and fresh fish. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Great swimming pool designed for both relaxing and teaching the new divers. Mermaid resort restaurant has great food too. The staff will help you with any needs such as transportation/ transfer. The staff is very friendly!

Mermaid is the best”
Have been coming to PG regularly since 2015 and have always stay at the Mermaids. The father-son owners team are awesome, always on hand to help out if need. The staffs are well trained and just great to work with. The hotel is superbly well maintained and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. I also dive through the Mermaid divers and I got nothing but great thing to say about their diving instructors team. Highly recommend any travelers to stay at the Mermaids.

I love every aspect of my stay at The Mermaid Resort. It is a steal for the price we paid. Facilities are great, staff are friendly, location is great and a stone throw away from grocery stores, the market, and restaurants, plus it comes with a Billiard Table for free, and the pool is great and always warm and clear and clean. What else can I say but I would have given it a 5 star plus if I could 😊. You will not regret it.

OMG Yes this is the place in Sabang!”
I've been going to Sabang to dive for years now and always stayed at a bit 'cheaper' place that had it's issues. I've been diving all over Asia and really don't have an issue going native as long as its clean and has air. I was 'forced' to stay at Mermaid as my wife was coming with me and is a bit less open to my level of living standards while 'roughing' it on dive trips. She also was going to get her PADI Open Water certificate and I wanted it to be at a place where she would fully learn. Needless to say Turbin and the staff at Mermaid has turned me and with the cheaper (yet just as modern, clean and fully functional) rooms above the dive shop this will be my place to rest my head between dives on all my future trips to Sabang. FYI: The dive shop and their staff were truly professional and their equipment (we brought our own) new and is well maintained. I still might take a few dive at the 'old place' however I'll be resting my head at Mermaid. WiFi is great too!

All facilities including rooms and restaurant are nice and clean, and staffs are so kind. The shower booth is a little bit small but the water pressure was good enough. The hotel is placed near by main street, market, and many restaurants.

Second Time To Sabang!”
I always enjoy my stay at the Mermaid Resort; and Sabang is a great place to visit for diving, water sports, beaches, etc. However, be aware of the scammers that will jack up the prices for foreigners.

Our room is big and clean , the stuff not talk much but they always smile to you and get the things you need , most amazing thing is , I forgot my hand bag in the room after check out , the stuff name Linda got the lost call and found it for me very quick! For foreigners - scuba diving”
The place is best for foreigners who want to go scuba diving. The place is not beachfront but it's a 5-minute walk. If you want to swim on the beach this place is not for you.

Everything has a price and a value. I paid $54 USD a night and felt this was a good value for the price. The facility is very nice and clean. More so than most in this area. So, for the price I would stay here again. But if the price is much more, I would not. The issues I ran into was that the bed was typical Filipino foam on a wooden frame, no hot and cold drinking water despencer in the room, most hotels offer an electric kettle in the room at the very least, not this place. They make you pay Php55 for hot water from the kitchen. My wife wanted to iron her dress and not only did they not have one in the room, they would not loan us one. Instead they offered an ironing service for Php 50! The thing that irritated me the most was the non caring attitude of Nilo the waiter in the restaurant. This review would not let me explaine why (word count limit). What was really good about the place was the power was on most of the time and it had fantastic water pressure and HOT was available.
