Thank you Mei Hotel for the excellent service which worth beyond the price . Super friendly staff. They help us in every single detail, even offering us to find money changer late at night (with their own motorcycle) when we ran out of MYR. Special thanks to Mr. Chandran. Location is in downtown, just about 100 m from Macalister road, where you can find every kind of food in walking distance 🤤. There’s a dimsum restaurant just in front of Mei Hotel. It just take about MYR 4-8 if using Grab for destination around Georegetown Area. The hotel even have MYR 5 Grab discount coupon code for 2x usage. Room and bathroom is very clean. The room interior is well designed so we can put our things freely. Bed and pillows are very comfy. Beside the basic stuff, Refrigerator, hair dryer, and ironing board are provided. Definitely will stay here again if we visit Penang next time. 👍👍

Clean and Value for Money”

I would like to commend one of the hotel staff Mei Ling who was manning the lobby counter at the time of my arrival. My partner carelessly left his mobile phone on the grab car that we took from the airport. Unfortunately, because of some setting issue, i was unable to directly dial n connect with the grab driver in the app. Thank god Mei Ling gave us her full support, she made calls to find out how to alternatively contact grab help line and thus the driver. She did these calls using her private mobile phone. With her help, we managed to eventually contact the driver and successfully retrieved our phone. It would have otherwise ruined our whole trip at the outset. For this helpful gesture, i give 5 stars to mei hotel. besides that, hotel room was spacious, everything was relatively new and clean (even by my ocd standards). location is ok (within walking distance supermarket giant, and to jalan nagore where the pubs/restaurants/cafes are) there is an okay dimsum place for breakfast just downstairs. Only complain would be that air con seems faulty. woke up in sweat on some of the mornings to find that air con has forced stop. would definitely consider coming back to this hotel should i choose to revisit penang in future.

good hotel, worth the value with it's great location”

We stayed 3 nights and were very satisfied during our stay. Check in was smooth and fast. The room was spacious, clean, comfort and also the bed is very comfortable. It is well located in Georgetown and so many eateries nearby the hotel. They also have promo code if you using grab to/from Penang International Airport to Mei Hotel. All of their staff are very helpful. The minus during our stay are the mainlanders (China Tourist) that speak so loud in the middle of the night and they even play card and get drunk in the hotel. Overall it was a pleasant stay and definitely will come back again in next visit :)

the best accommodation for travellers like us, we travelled from JB to Tganu to Penang with motocycle and we chose Mei Hotel because of on-site parking with lift. Excellent choice, to ensure our motocycle is safe.

Clean & Comfortable Stay”

It is my second time staying in MEI HOTEL. They even upgraded the room for me as it is my second visit. I would definitely come back again. The limited parking space is still one of my concern but they had a new indoor parking space available which I have not give it a try. The breakfast provided is really refreshing and good. Wifi is good as well.

very good service of staff and manager. Family room is really nice, spacious enough for 4 person. Just maybe can add on variety of choices for the breakfast. Will recommend to others and stay in Mei hotel again in future.

Relatively new hotel”

we stay at no-window double room but it is equally as good. clean and good service. location wise, although it is not at the center of the georgetown where most of the tourist attractions are at (blue mansion, wall mural, museum, chew jetty etc), it is near to hot bowl curry mee, famous siam road char kway teow( expect to queue and wait for an hr or more) and walk slightly further can go to new lane hawker center. there is also a hawker center next to the hotel. alot of char kway teow stall there. there is also a shu wellness massage next to the hotel and you can get rm10 off from the hotel tie up with the parlor. we managed to enjoy 2xgrab rm5 off from/to the hotel which is quite a good deal. breakfast is basis but toast is good. will recommend friend to stay definitely.

Good value for money”

This hotel is still new and its only 2 months old however the facilities is very good. Location is perfect if you are looking to eat Penang food around Georgetown. They even have skyview floor but is not at top floor. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Clean and comfy beds in a strategic location! ”

1. New hotel with comfy pillows and beds. Two pillows on a single bed! 2. Parking available as they have a lift. 3. Breakfast provided unlike other 3 stars hotel. 4. They have a viewing deck for smokers to smoke. I think it was nice to look out at night and see stars. Lots of mosquitoes though. 5. Decent WiFi 6. Good location. Around RM3-5 uber ride to Komtar area, Chulia Street, Burma Street. 7. 5 mins walking distance to food outside/mini marts Would definitely go back to the same hotel if I'm visiting Georgetown!

Love this new hotel, even has a Grab promo code (MEIHOTEL) that gets you 5RM off your ride from the airport! (So you should pay about 20RM after that). The rooms are super clean and i LOVE their pillows. Everything was perfect and it's so near to delicious Penang Hawker food and also a 24-hr convenience store is right around the corner. staff are super friendly, there's even a doorman for this 3 star hotel! super value for money, loved everything. will definitely be staying when i come back again,

The parking lot is accessed with a vehicle lift! Such a technological upgrade! Room was large, sparkling clean and nice ambient. Totally perfect and excellent with the price. Will definitely make it my favourite hotel in Penang when I wish you to stay in the city. Staff was wonderful.

Exceptional”

The room we booked had no window, but this was clearly mentioned when we did the booking. Everything else was comfortable, except that one night the new occupants of the room next door tried to open the connecting door. We got around by using Grab, or just walking to the Penang Street area and then catching the CAT bus. There's a mamak restaurant (Pelita) not far from the hotel, where we had breakfast every morning.
