Very clean”
My room (Superior) was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though English is not widely spoken/understood. There is a young lady that speaks fluent English though. It's a bit far from the centre of town (about 30 minutes walking) but you can easily take cheap transportation from and to the hotel. There are supermarkets and many places to eat right next to the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel provided me with free transportation to the harbour (free transportation to the airport is also available). I would definitely stay at the Mars Hotel again.

Reasonable price and staff kind”
Price is fit for equipment. Air Conditoner is ok, hot water is not so warm, but no problem. In the morning, I could enjoy Aceh food.Staffs were friendly enough.

A below average one-nighter”
This hotel pretty much epitomizes nothing special. The room was tiny and badly painted but clean enough, so it seemed fine for a one night stop-over with an early morning checkout... but then other people started to arrive in the hotel and we discovered just how thin the walls were. Other people's conversations came through the walls, not to mention the presumably drunk woman loudly karaoke-ing Bon Jovi. Oh, and at some point in the night they turned off the power to the rooms (except to the AC, which still ran), meaning we woke up to find our phones uncharged. I wouldn't go back.

Mars Hotel Review”
I booked 1 week earlier for 1 night on 30th April 2017. But when I arrived at the hotel, the registration staff said the hotel is fully booked. I was shocked that the hotel is overbooked as I said to the hotel staff that I booked from Agoda 1 week early. I think their booking / agoda booking system is a messed up. Luckily the hotel staff contact nearby hotel to accommodate us for another hotel.

Nothing wrong with it”
It's a bit for out of town if you want to be near the restaurants and get a beer. However, it is clean and pleasant. The staff are helpful despite limited English, and we felt very welcome. What can I say? It's a hotel. I would stay again, but I wish it was closer to a Western eatery. I do like a cold beer with my food...

Smelly, no wifi, bad location, unhelpful staff”
Mars Hotel is actually a fitting name if you just push the words together and take off the "otel". It's a waterlogged musty place - the second floor hallway smells like piss. They advertise wifi as in each room - lies! There's no in-room wifi. There aren't any good restaurants within walking distance. The staff is astoundingly unhelpful, giving me nothing but blank stares when I asked about a good place to eat on the city or basic timetables for ferries and such. Skip this place.

The hotel is OK, but we found a better hotel to move to. Small rooms, doesn't seem as nice as the pictures. Reasonably clean, common areas open and full of mosquitos.

It plaques with minor problems on my 2 days stay at 2 different rooms.”
The electricity gets cut every now and then. Problem was the air conditioning will not restart automatically. This is super irritating during my sleep. On the 2nd day at another room, the discharge pipe from the shower was clogged. Water from shower seep through to the entrance area. Plus there was a broken floor tile just waiting for an accident to happen.

Not a place for tourist”
It's suppose to be fairly new but still looked a little run down. A decent place to stay for 1 night but it's not the middle of town. Food is still ample so if one is not particular, it's still an acceptable place. Staff were really helpful.
