truly 5 star hotel”

Our stay in Marco Polo is quite memorable and nice experience... before we usually stayed in Shangrila Mactan and Hilton... meaning whenever we are at Cebu, we always in the part of Lapu-lapu city.. its our first time in city itself.. we always wondering whats the building on the top of the mountain overlooking cebu city. we found out that its Marco Polo Hotel now but before it was Cebu Plaza Hotel.. one of the most famous and expensive hotel in the Queen City of the South. Now that its Marco Polo... it gives more elegance and charm. The Hotel location is nice.. few minutes drive away to the city, malls, tourist attractions etc... its facilities like pools and gym and spa and restaurants are truly wondrous and relaxing with. the rooms are spacious and quite peaceful. no noise will wake you and you wanted to sleep all day long. The elevators are fast and roomy. The parking is so big. Gardens are quite allusive. The staffs are very courteous and helpful... fast in their actions and firm in their words. I must say we will comeback there again the next time we visit cebu city.

Reliable service and excellent food”

We have stayed at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu multiple times. Service quality is consistent, lobby atmosphere is excellent, and dining is excellent. Spa is limited and atmosphere is lacking. Fitness center is sufficient but a bit lacking at the 5 star level. Pool is nice, but a bit small. Food at the outdoor pool is excellent and not terribly expensive. We appreciate the location of Marco Polo, elevated on a relatively quiet hill overlooking the city with excellent views. The hotel is removed from the desperate squalor and pollution of Cebu. There are excellent restaurants and a good spa 100-300 meters from the hotel entrance. Ayala Mall is 10 minutes down the hill by taxi. Returning to the hotel in a taxi can be a crap shoot, as 30% of the taxis on the road will not be able to make it up the hill. Request a hotel car if traveling with small children and you want to be safe and assured in your travels. Otherwise, have an adventure.

The best”

Myself and my partner stayed in a Grand Deluxe Room on floor 21. Very quiet room no noise from outside. The food in Marco Polo is brilliant! The dessert selections are just unbelievably good (mouth watering) The reason I picked this hotel is to bring my parents here for a treat as they havent been in this hotel in their lives. Before Marco Polo hotel was built the land was owned by my grandfather. My parents met here when Marco Polo was being built. My mother used to have a mini store where the guard house is now and my father works nearby until this day. We stayed at The Grand Hyatt Hongkong and two other hotels in Cebu on this holiday but Marco Polo Plaza Cebu is far better.. One of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. We are definitely coming back... (next year hopefully)

Great location and relax ”

Marco Polo Plaza in Cebu is a retreat from the bustling city life of Cebu. A growing metropolis Cebu is experiencing the same issues like any other pollution, heavy traffic and people packed malls, restaurants and shopping strips. The family spent just an overnight at the hotel but we were impressed with the service, the facilities and the well trained staff. Located atop the hills, one can have a breathtaking view of the skyscapes of the city and at night one will be mesmerised by the beautiful cityscape ablazed with neon and street lights. I had a slight cut and the nurse came with a small band aid for my use. It really feels at home in a grand hotel like Marco Polo in Cebu.

A good stay that could have been great”

I stayed in total 4 days but with a short break after the first two days until I came back. In total I stayed in 3 different, Deluxe, rooms. I've stayed at Marco Polo before in Hong Kong and remembered it as a high-range 4-star och lower end 5-star, but this time in Cebu they offered some promotion so a Deluxe room was very cheap, around 55-60 USD. First two nights were perfect. Great room +30sqm, nicely decorated and clean. Good breakfast (not included), friendly staff and a decent pool area. After visiting other areas of Cebu I came back to stay two more nights at Marco Polo. I then stayed in rooms that felt a little more worn down, that weren't clean enough (found some hair here and there which weren't mine) and one that has a shower that couldn't hold the temperature. So the cleanliness could be improved a little, but overall it was a great stay and I would come back again. (Cebu city is on the other hand not a place to spend too much time in, polluted and not very charming).

Excellent stay at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. Location was convenient, as it was near almost all the good eating places in Cebu. Also no problem hailing a metered cab, as the hotel staff does that for you at no extra charge. The room is spacious and well-maintained - housekeeping staff very warm and pleasant. Breakfast buffet is undoubtedly unrivaled in Cebu! (Try the dimsum basket and the noodle soup.) Recommend booking with Agoda for complimentary internet access and guaranteed late checkout of up to 4pm.

My son lives in Cebu , and I try to visit several times a year. I love staying at this hotel I feel it's my home away from home , the staff here are so so friendly ! Professional and caring . I would recommend anyone staying here , fantastic value for money , there are newer fancier hotels in Cebu , but the Marco Polo shines above the rest. , from the girls on the door. , the beautiful girls at the front desk. , Claire in the buffet the handsome pool boys , joesph my room attendant . The fabulous girls in the spa. !! Everyone of youakee feels like a princess. ! Nothing was ever too much trouble , my every desire was met with a smile. . The rooms where immaculate. ! The food especially the breakfast buffet. As spectacular. As a single woman travelling by myself I found the staff were very protective of me guide ing me as to where to go and making me feel very very welcome ! The position of the hotel a little bit out if the center of town was fine ! Two dollar taxi fare to the big. Malls. ! Taxis are always waiting. ! Can't fault the place. !! For me the only hotel to stay while in Cebu. ! Everyone will enjoy staying here. ! I think it's the staff that make all the difference. ! I can't wait to return ! ,

A Vacation in the Hills”

Marco Polo is the only 5 star hotel in Cebu, and it definitely shows in the service. One neat thing (although I did not use this service) was that they have staff that are of different nationalities. So if a Korean were to visit Marco Polo, the check in would be much easier as they can converse in the language of their country. Marco Polo is isolated, and that does mean that you do not hear the hustle and bustle that you normally hear when you are near the city. However, it also does give you a challenge if you would want to go to a mall, as you would not be able to take a walk. You would either need to commute, or go by scheduled shuttle. However, that is a small thing. Food was great, and so was the room service. The staff know how to converse, and they are positive and very welcoming. It was definitely a relaxing stay!

a top facility with truly excellent service”

i was pleasantly surprised by a several things during my stay at the marco polo hotel in cebu. the first thing was the level of service, from the hotel representative who picked me up at the airport to the quality room service i experienced. the reception staff were very polite and helpful as was the lady who checked me in. all of the hotel staff spoke very good english which i greatly appreciated. the quality of food served in the continental club lounge was also excellent. i thoroughly enjoyed the variety on the breakfast menu and most importantly, the coffee was great! my experience with guest services was also very good. a couple of times i needed to call guest services and the girl was very helpful and also rang back to make sure everything was ok. i have not experienced this in a hotel before and it has made a very good impression. the bathroom was stocked with a good variety of helpful items and the only problem here was that i couldn't work out how to release the plug in the bath. all in all i am a very happy customer and would choose to stay in a marco polo hotel again. thank you.

I had a lovely stay at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu hotel. I made an online reservation and made a last minute request for a Mountain View Room with good lighting as we were conducting a personal photo shoot in my room. The hotel receptionist was kind enough to get me a room with a nice location with good natural light, and a mountain view room at that.

I visited Marco Polo Plaza Cebu with my wife for the first time 13 years ago and the hotel is still keeping the Marco Polo Plaza quality flag high and proud. To be good when everything is new is one thing but to keep that high standard for 13 years that's admirable! I'll recommend Marco Polo Plaza Cebu wholeheartedly to anyone.

First Class Hotel”

As soon as you arrive at the establishment of Marco Polo..you can see it's beautiful place to stay. From the time you get out of taxi..your treated like a very valued guest,doesn't matter how long your stay will be. My wife and I loved our room,had mountain views. The Breakfast menu was exceptional!! Coffee was excellent..(hard to find real latte with fresh milk in Philippines. We will never stay any where else but Marco Polo on our returning visits to Cebu,And we have stayed 10 different hotels in Cebu,so that's really saying something

Best Hotel I've ever been. ”

I've been traveling for years and Marco Polo Plaza Cebu is one of the best hotels I've been. It doesn't have the price tag of Shangri-la or Four Seasons but it definitely surpas other high end hotels in terms of service and food quality. I will stay here again if we were going to Cebu in the future.

Hi , my son lives in Cebu and I like to visit him a few times a year , I usually travel by myself so safety is important to me ! Staying at the Marco Polo is like staying at a good friends home !! I feel welcome and very safe. ! The staff ALL are wonderful kind and genuinely friendly ! I could not fault them. ! The hotel is a little older than some , but beautifully maintained . The rooms are very comfortable with top quality linens , they are serviced each day , my room attendant Joesph was a gem , I looked forward to seeing him every day ! Nothing was ever too much trouble ! The pool guys were friendly as were the buffet attendants Claire was there most mornings always with a smile. ! And remembered that I like a latte ! Great service ! The pool bar is fantastic as is the roof top bar ! Two for one cocktails , yum! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys the good things in life , for an excellent price. !! I will be returning next month and can't wait. !!

Excellence at Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu City”

Marco Polo Plaza can compete and will surpass the so-called "5-star hotels" in the United States in all categories, with the staff's courteousness and expediency of excellent service topping the list. The hotel lobby is decorated and designed very intelligently yet gives off a feeling of being welcomed. The sea view room on the 11th floor offers a spectacular sunrise view, is amply-sized, spick and span especially the bathroom, comfy beds with down pillows and blankets and with very functional floor layout. The restaurant staff at the Marco Cafe greet and sit the guest to a table and address the individual by title and NAME !The breakfast buffet is an event not to be missed for it offers a wide variety of local and international cuisine prepared to perfection. After a busy day schedule, the Lobby Lounge offers a good variety of libation in a warm and cozy atmosphere where local talents soothe frayed nerves with soft sounds. The individual will feel the personalized service showered by the hotel and not the usual "one of the hotel guest's face" treatment one may encounter even on a "5-star" establishment.

It was a great experience to stay at the Marco Polo Plaza hotel .The hotel is within the city proper and very close to all good restaurants and shops. It was our first trip to Cebu and we enjoyed it. We want to come back and experienced the sinulog festival and will surely stay at Marco Polo Plaza...

This is our 3rd time in Cebu. It is our first time at the Marco Polo. It will not be our last. We have decided that this is the hotel we will stay in every time we visit Cebu. The hotel is bevy clean. The staff very friendly. The Rooms are large . The room service is superb. The all you can eat buffet is one the best that we have ever had. The buffet had an extensive salad bar, soup and then several main selections , had a section for chinese , a section for japanese, had american and filipino selections. This was topped off with a large desert section. My only complaint is tht I ate too much. The pool is large and clean. We highly recommend this hotel. They have shuttle to take guest to Ayala or Sm.

Verygood but a little far from the business center”

marco polo is a world class hotel. it's very expensive but you get what you paid for. if you want to have a good view of cebu city, this is the perfect hotel for you. but as a world class hotel, i was expecting massage services for 24 hours. i badly needed a massage and i was very disappointed when i was informed that they're only open until midnight. when i called for therapists from the outside, the different spas refused to go to marco polo because of its location

top class hotel, but location a bit out of the way”

the rooms were quite nice (nicer than the pictures online, in my opinion) and the beds were very comfortable. we had the mountain-view and we personally liked it a lot more than the sea-view (which costs a bit more). we really enjoyed going to the breakfast buffet each morning. the food was quite good with many different selections. we especially liked the fruit corner where you could choose your own fruit which the staff would cut for you. we enjoyed relaxing by the pool, but ordering poolside drinks was quite expensive. the food at the italian restaurant by the pool was nice too. actually the pizza wasn't as great as i thought it would be but the appetizers (scallops and tuna) were very very good. there was a live band by the pool which was very entertaining and the cafe in the lobby also had great live music in the evening. the staff were friendly and quite helpful. we had to stop by the souvenir shop in the lobby for a couple of last-minute postcards, and even though the shop was closed, the staff on duty called the shop owner and had her open it just for us. also, our flight back home was quite late in the evening and the hotel let us check-out at 2 o'clock for no extra charge. it's 1000 pesos extra for 6 o'clock check-out, by the way. the location was a bit out of the way, was quite a long taxi ride to almost any attraction, but it didn't bother us much. overall, our stay at the marco polo plaza cebu was nice, would stay here again.
