Overall A Good Accommodation with Few Drawbacks ”

We booked the whole apartment option and the house was fantastic. The cookery and beddings were all good. But I still have to point out a few things to improve: 1. At this price range, complimentary wifi with 2 GB bandwidth limit seems a bit penny-pinching. 2. The under-stove oven worked fine but as we preheated it the foul odor from previous cooking fumed the whole living room. I think they should ask the clients while checking out whether they use the oven and arrange cleaning accordingly. 3. The dish washer was absolutely helpful and yet the complimentary cleaner fluid/powder only came with 2 use per stay I suppose. If frequent cooking is to be expected, be careful with the dishes. Despite several things stated above, we all quite enjoyed the stay at the Mantra Lake Tekapo Hotel. I was able to enjoy the starry night with a glass of wine in the backyard, which is a fantastic experience you should definitely try. Cheers!

We had a wonderful stay!”

Me and my friends were very happy with our stay at Tekapo. I would say it's Mantra Apartment made our stay so beautiful and special. When we entered the room, the fireplace was lightened, and ice cubes were ready in the freezer. All these thoughtful details, plus this amazing apartment made our arrival so welcoming. At night, it's walking distance to The Church of Good Shepherd for the famous star watching. Overall, the whole experience at Mantra Lake Tekapo Apartment was overwhelmingly wonderful. I'll definitely recommend to everyone and come back again.

Exceptional”

Lake Tekapo is a beautiful place and a must visit if you are travelling the south island and Mantra is perfectly placed. Not very near to the crowded business area so you won't be bothered by the noise, but within a short walking distance that enables you to trek the most beautiful path the lake has to offer. The 2 storey bungalow is spacious and packed with all amenities that you need to keep your family happy. The dining table inside is functional, but the dining table in the garden was the main treat for us. We had a family lunch in the garden (we came mid April) which everyone enjoyed so much.

Beautiful hotel”

We didn't actually get to stay at the mantra hotel because when we arrived there they had a problem with some rooms being flooded and ours was one of them. So we were upgraded to peppers resort which is the one I've done the review on. We got a free cooked breakfast both mornings and the room was fantastic. Beautiful lake and mountain view and a huge kitchen/ lounge room. Absolutely beautiful, just wished we had booked in for a longer stay. The only bad thing I guess was we ordered room service and it took 2 hours to arrive at our room but was given a 20% discount when we left and our room wasn't cleaned until sometime after 7:00 pm. But not a problem, just unusual. I would definitely stay there again if I could afford it.

Enjoyed Our Stay”

Enjoyed Lake Tekapo and or stay at the Mantra Apartments. Sanjay and the cleaning staff were very helpful and really ensured we had a pleasant stay. The location convenient to the nearby village and quiet. Just a wonderful time for a family. Many thanks to the staff.

Beautiful apartment!”

The apartment was clean and right smack at lake tekapo, just 10mins walk to the lake. Fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, utensils, pots, oven, and a fireplace that kept us warm and cosy. Beds had heating pads, but some were not working. Check in and check out was easy. We had a great stay and will definitely come back to stay if we visit tekapo again!

Luxurious, comfortable and cosy for family”

We are a group of 2 families, one with young child and the other with 2 older kids. We were wowed by the luxurious furnishing and comfortable spaces in the 2 storey house styled apartment. It is so cosy that we decided to buy ingredients and cooked at the apartment for a cosy homey meal at the apartment. The beds are comfortable and the heated bathrooms are superb. We loved our stay here. We even spent time doing a bit of star gazing at the enclosed back yard even when it's really cold outside. A little downside is the dish washer that's not working but tats not an issue for us. We will definitely choose this apartment again and recommend it to any others coming to Lake Tekapo for holiday.

This is one of our fav place to stay during our visit to Lake Tekapo. The location was strategic as it is near to lake tekapo where we can enjoy the view of the Lake and stargazing during night time. Aparmtnet was nicely decorated with a nice fire place. The bed was so comfortable and the apartment was extremely clean. Highly recommended

Comfordable like lovely home, value for money”

We love their design of room, lovely, beautiful, comfortable and spacious room suitable for family. Actually we will be stay 1 night only in Tekapo and check out tomorrow morning. Heavy snow happened since last night and we informed we should stay 1 more night because all the road are closing. Oh My God! It will influence our coming schedule, no choice because we can't go out, so we just waiting and playing in the snow. Their staff are very nice, they bought us some bread and egg for us without charge us any fee. They also give us discount for second day. We will choose them again when we come back Tekapo.

Badly planned rooms, or just unlucky??”

We reached Lake Tekapo on a brilliant day in December. Clear day - 22 degrees. The location of the hotel is awesome, and lake tekapo is a must see!! The unit in Mantra was great, and the manager was also quite accommodating and helped fit in our child in the best manner possible, without raising a fuss. however, as in the whole of the South Island, there is no aircon (or fan) in the units. The windows in the bedroom and the living areas were in the direct path of the sun, and it became extremely hot and unpleasant in the unit. Couldn't really sleep till about 2am, when it eventually became bearable in the rooms! Not ideal if you're on a long trip and have to head out early the next morning!! Per the manager, this apparently happens on 10 days in the year at Lake Tekapo, and we just managed to be there on one of those days!!

Totally worth the money ”

- no lake view but very close to the Tekapo lake and the restaurant area - it's not just a room or hotel suit we expectec. Its a family house with living room, open kitchen and 2 rooms on 2nd floor.

Beautiful place”

The room is huge, with full equipments and very comfortable. They provide almost everything in the room. You can see lake Tekapo from the backyard. Within 5 minutes to restaurants, and staff is very helpful.

Cosy. Overall, good Stay!”

Good Location. Very near to Lake Tekapo. Can only walk for few minutes. Clean and well equipped apartment ideal for Family or group. We loved to stay here again when we get back.

Perfect Stay”

We went to Tekapo at the end of Winter. The house is warm and cozy. All facilities are in good condition. Very near to the lake and church, we spent both nights there for stargazing. Highly recommended.

Really liked it”

Surprisingly spacious 2 bed house with large bathroom and well laid out dining/living area. Well equipped and clean. Includes garage/own parking lot. No lake view but only minutes away from Village Centre and shore. Only stayed one night and it wasn't the season to make use of outdoor pool area, but would certainly come back - and much better value than Peppers nearby where we stayed when we returned to Tekapo a few days later (part of the same group) and which was thoroughly disappointing in comparison.

Lovely hotel with great service”

The apartments were very spacious and comfortable. All apartments were two story apartments. The bottom is the living, dining, kitchen and a toilet. Upstairs is where all the rooms were and also bathroom/toilet. There is also a backyard and front porch with tables. The apartment is less than 5 minutes drive to the lake. The place is very spacious and well organised. Rooms were clean. The only disadvantage of this apartment is no wifi or internet available.

Fairy new unit with good equipments”

the apartment is beautiful, clean, compete and good amenitiies. one of the best apartments we stayed at on this trip. great location within walking distance to lake tekapo and town centre for food and activities. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the outdoor pool was closed which is understandable due to cold weather and temperature of the location.

Wonderful stay and best service”

Four of us stayed in Mantra in December 2012, we did a week travel in South Island, this is the best apartment we ever stayed I reckon. Luxury room, downstair is kitchen and living room with all modern furnitures, like a designer's terrace house. Upstair is bathroom and bedrooms, we only booked two rooms for four adults but kindly owner opened the third bedroom so we can use the bacony. The master room has ensuit bathroom. Everything is so lovely, you have everything you need there, just pack yourself! Totally worth the money!

We unfortunately only had 1 night at Manta Lake Tekapo Apartments, and wished we had longer to enjoy the facilities and the stunning location.
