our stay at Manor 38 could not have been better: the house and room were very stylish and comfortable and the service of Wendy and her team was simply wonderful. Breakfast was an absolute treat and there are nice restaurants in the area for lunch or dinner. The fact that the airport is just a 10 minute drive away from the guest lodge is another asset when using Port Elisabeth to start or end your garden route holidays. But also for a longer stay Manor 38 is defintiely the place to be!

What a fabulous find”
Fantastic. Both Wendy and Chris are so helpful and friendly. The place is beautifully furnished and really felt like a home from home. The pool is a great size and lovely to relax by even if you don't want to swim. The Hotel is close to the airport but we heard no noise at all. It is also a 5 minute walk from a beautiful beach. We would not hesitate to recommend Manor 38 and wish we had booked to stay longer.

Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had room 1 it was large and well furnished. Arrange were made to add a additional single bed to the room for my daughter. Breakfast was fantastic. Manor 38 is well situated during our stay we hired a car for 2 days. The rest of the time we walked and used Uber to get around.

Outstanding Stay”
Our family of 4 selected this as an overnight stay. We flew into Port Elizabeth late at night and it was close to the airport. It was a wonderful place to overnight. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was outstanding too! If you stay here you won’t forget it!

because of very good ratings we booked 1 night at manor 38. we rang the bell for entry into the building and introduced ourselves so we could be let into the building. the first response we got was no hello etc. i tried to explain that we were aware that we were early but would like to store our luggage and head to the boardwalk. she let us in and once we got out of the car, she again said all this while i still tried to explain we were aware and just needed to store our bags. that evening when we returned our room had been cleaned. we had taken a shower earlier and put a used towel on the floor. we came back to find that same towel hung for reuse.

Lovely bead and breakfast hotel near promenade, short drive to airport. Nice pool area ( although pool needed a clean). Rooms small but adequate for a night or two and an exceptionally good price for all of this including a hot breakfast!

Very nice”
This guesthouse was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay very much. My only gripe is that breakfast was not included. I hadn;t noticed when I booked. I felt the price for breakfast was too expensive although it was a very tasty breakfast. We travelled all along the garden route and this was our last stop. I guess it was a city but I thought it lacked the personal touch of the previous geusthouses. The room was very comfortable however and we did enjoy our stay.

We had a nice table just outside our room to have our drinks near the pool. Cosy and warm house with two big living areas and dining area. Having access to these areas to watch TV and relax. Feels just like home away from home, with a friendly dog to snuggle up too!

Very good”
We were left quite disappointed after our stay. The location is perfect, the staff friendly and the venue is beautiful and clean. However breakfast is served very early and as a result we went to eat elsewhere . I was informed that there would be a surcharge of R300 for the additional person (my partner) staying in the double room with me. This could have been an oversight whilst booking but I was surprised as I assumed it was meant to cover the additional breakfast- which neither of us had. The room while comfortable was located in close proximity to the pool and dinning area resulting in us being woken up by the other guests during the serving and prep of breakfast. We would have also preferred to have been asked if we would like the turn down service as we were bewildered arriving back to the room with none of our things packed away to find out that someone had been there to turn on the lights.
