Not as fun as the other mad monkeys. Its a bit far from the center. But would still recommend this if you want some chill stay! Its just in front of the beach. ♥️

This place is by far one of the nicest party hostels I have stayed in. The hostel is more like a luxury retreat with comfortable 3 bedroom dorms and private accomodation in your own bungalow. Thank you to Sophia who is an amazing rep! Really gathered the crowd together playing drinking games and cycling nights out to the popular bars nearby. All the staff here are so pleasant and friendly the moment you arrive you already feel like you are at home. As a solo traveler its so nice to find a good place to stay with really nice people that are welcoming. Happy hour from 7-730 FREE drinks open bar. The restaurant serves amazing food poke bowl was amazing. Pool is huge with a volleyball net right on the sand right infront if the beach. You can rent out a bike for 50 k which is really good for getting around the island. The location a little far from the harbour but that doesnt matter as this hostel is one of the best places to be at by far ! Forgot to include the litter of cute baby kittens that are all around the hostel that are super cuddly. You will be saying everyday you check out "just one more night!"

Although there's still space for improvements, the place is pretty much awesome. I had lots of fun, staff is so nice and the food is great too. I definitely recommend it, especially to younger travelers.

Good for a social stay”
I enjoyed my time here for 3 nights, I was ready to leave after that though as I was looking for a more chilled vibe. Also they didn’t have Wi-Fi in the rooms so I had to go to reception every time I wanted to message someone, which got annoying. My biggest issue with this hostel is that the bathroom/showers are not attached to the rooms and that feels a little weird, like you’re at a festival and have to carry all your stuff there and back. People wanting to party and socialise will probably love this place, the location is great, just on the beach and the sunsets are to die for.

Being a Solo Traveller - I simply booked this hostel for 2 Nights and if I could do it again, I'd spend atleast a week here. Clean beds, Private room key for safety and very hygienic washrooms. The vibes during the day is Volleyball and snorkelling at the beach and hosts organise lots of Night games for us to meet new people and have a great time! If you're in Gili, you'd have to check this hostel out even for a Night and experience it.

One of my favorite hostel ! The vibe, the staff, the food, everything is nice. Dan & Buddi are amazing, always there to keep the energy good at all time. Also, room and bathroom is clean which is a must. The only down side is that its on the other side of the island so you need to ride a bicycle to get to the center (or take a horse). I actually hate bicycle but i did went back in gili a week after i left and still went to this hostel. So i really recommend it even tho its on the other side. Also you’re on the good side for sunsets ! If it’s possible you should be there for the foam pool party on Friday’s. This is considered a party hostel but you can also not party so much and still enjoy the place since the music stops around 10-11 when everyone is going out. I would recommend staying on the 2nd floor if it’s possible, when on the lower floor you hear pretty much everything going out upstairs.

Worst experience ever! People from the staff is horrible. For the dinner, you will eat bad foods with with your hands!!!! And be careful of your stuff, it’s not safe at all. People from the staff stole what they can get!!!

Mad Monkey is a great place if you're solo traveling and you love to party. Even though I'm not a party person, but I really feel comfortable stayed in Mad Monkey. All the staff is super friendly, Dan, Awan, Tari, Devi, and I forgot his name (but he introduced me to Extra Joss drink 😂).

Nice hostel but not really my thing”
Clean and has good facilities. It is, however, not really my kind of hostel. Good for people who are new to backpacking and just want to drink and party. I don’t mind a bit of that but even at 10am the music is blasting. You could not really escape it either unless you hide away in your room. The place is also very commercial. Other than that the staff are very friendly and the people I met there were nice. I will give it four stars for that, because they do well to cater for the people that this hostel should attract.

Cannot fault Mad Monkey! Staff are all so lovely, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are super cute and clean with comfortable beds. The pool is great with lots of areas to chill.
