Beyond Expectation and Totally Recommended!”

Enjoyed our stay in the Deluxe King Room. For about RM400++ for 3 nights, I think I’ve hit jackpot. The room size was great for 2 adults and a preschooler. The bed was comfy (with huge and more than enough pillows too). The linen, carpet, furniture, bathroom were really clean. The ambiance of the hotel was topnotch for a pretty cheap hotel. All the staffs there were friendly, and helpful too. I love how they greeted us every time they saw us in the reception area and made conversation especially the malay staff. As for the location, it is located in the heart of Georgetown but parking space is very limited and that was why we preferred to go around Penang with Grab (to save the parking spot 😂). As for nearby food hawkers, a lot of Non-Halal food stalls so for us Muslims it was not an option but to go somewhere further to look for Halal food. But all in all, it was a great experience for us staying in this hotel. Would be our choice if we ever come by Penang again.

Warm hospitality ”

I love boutique hotels like Macalister Hotel because you get that personal touch. The front of desk staff are so kind and friendly. The room was great value for money too. It’s a functional space. Travelling with my parents it was good to have my own room. The people that worked at this separate business, I think bread story or bread history, could have been a bit more flexible. One morning we didn’t have breakfast because the cook had an accident in the morning. My dad asked for a second cup of coffee and they said no because it is only one cup per person,- though we didn’t have breakfast. So some flexibility and open mind ness would have been appreciated. They are a bit slow with food service but on the morning I was leaving and had to be at the airport I did ask them to hurry and they were quite quick. I have to make note that on the morning we couldn’t have breakfast the hotel staff at the hotel were so apologetic and organised a lunch free of charge for us which was great!

King Size Room. New Boutique Hotel”

Design top notch both interior and external. Cleanliness 5 star Room facility so modern from the wall to the bed to the mirror stand and shower room. Even the shower head is of highest quality. Better than some of the 5 star hotels. Location wise inside town. Walk to Komtar n Prangnin Mall 15 mins. Plenty of good food around especially opposite the hotel at night. U can have all famous Penang food in the place. Can GRAB car to travel around Georgetown all cost standard RM5 per ride. Fan take CAT bus which is free but have to wait for 20mins for a bus. To sum up it's hard to find such a new and clean hotel nowadays with that price. Will love to stay again for sure !!

Great Hotel, Great Location”

We had a wonderful stay at this property. We were two adults and one 8 year old child. The property was located in a prime location just on the border of George Town. There is a great breakfast place just across the street at the local food stall. We really enjoyed our spa treatments at Legacy Spa. Please check out Urban Daybreak for a sumptuous breakfast one morning. The Macalister is close to all these great spots in Penang! Note, this hotel did not have a rollaway bed or a pool, so keep that in mind when choosing your hotel with children. We'd stay again for sure.

Great stay and facilities”

I stayed in the Family 2 Bedroom Suite, a great room with a great layout, everything was sparkling clean, the furniture was new. The stay and the stay were all very helpful, polite and very warm. Despite having top-notch service and great rooms, the only flaw of the stay is there is no parking provided. You would need to park at your own risk, note there are not much parking space in front of the hotel, plenty more around the corner. Having to a find a parking spot, you will also need to pay the parking fee of RM6 per day, non refundable. Other than parking, I would recommend this hotel for having such nice ambiance, will definitely come back to try other PHC hotels. Bravo!

Great room and location, not the best service”

Ive stayed here a couple of times already. Personally I really love the room, its not too small, perfect size, good tv channel and comfortable bed. Ive stayed at all phc hotels before and this one is my fav choice when I travel alone. The cons, first are the facilities. They dont have fridge, not even a mini fridge. No laundry room or such. So its just a typical hotel with nothing in it, hence it’s not suitable for long stay. The second one is the staff, as I mentioned, ive stayed here a few times already and have tried other phc hotels, the staff here was by far the most unhelpful. There is one or two that are helpful, but the executive and manager were not. And ive dealt with a rude front desk at hutton phc before, but it’s disappointing here because this place is my fav. Aside from that, this place is good if you travel for a short period of time and esp for solo travelers

However, it seems to be the only problem with this hotel as other room we heard was having the same problem. Hope this hotel management will look into this matter and solve the issue once and for all. Other than that, it was a great stay. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Penang.

Amazing hotel”

Nestled in the most perfect location in Penang town. Clean and very spacious modern room. Very happy with my stay in this hotel. Definitely will stay at this hotel in my next visit to Penang. I highly recommend this hotel. If you drove down to Penang, parking may be a slight issue as parking bays are at the liberty of what's available by the roadside - but a non-issue for me as the hotel is simply amazing.

The suite was excellent and exactly like how it was pictured. Afiefy, the hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you to the hotel staff and the management, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel. We would love to stay again at the Macalister Hotel.

Exceptional”

Spent a night at this hotel during my stay in Penang. Have to say, overall, i was very impressed. Check in was in a breeze, but do take note that the check in time is 3pm. Hotel location is very convenient and its near many popular eatery. The room was really spacious but at the same time very cosy. It is definitely one of the better hotel that I have stayed in. The hotel has its own place for breakfast, just right beside the lobby. highly recommend place for accommodation while in Penang!

New hotel”

New hotel, very sleek and stylish yet cosy. The family room for 2 adults and 2 children was spacious enough for a few nights. The master bedroom’s high ceiling had a wow factor. Confortable beds, nice bathroom with excellent water pressure, AC, kitchenette and toiletries supplied. There’s a nice western style coffee shop by the lobby and across the road there’s a tasty local food court. Staff friendly and helpful. Only slight disturbance was very loud music around midnight for a couple of hours... the hotel should have a word about this with the next door venue.

Satisfied with hospitality of the staffs there. ”

I was delighted by the friendliness of the staffs there, speaks well and explained all of the rules and regulations of the hotel patiently. Checking in and out of the hotel was smooth. The rooms are pretty much the same as what you see from the photos on the listings. Rooms are clean. However, if i am not wrong, they only provide the toothbrush kit only when requested. So do feel free to request from them. There a few places to eat nearby the hotel and even massage places. About 5-10mins walk to New Lane. I would love to stay here again for my next trip.

Convenient, Clean and Comfortable ”

Stayed for 3 nights. Convenient to eateries just in front and all over the vicinity. To get around, we took grab. Didn't have a drop off / pick up point since it is small hotel. Was a little inconvenient when it was raining outside. The road just in front was a busy one. Very clean and comfortable, like the design and decor of the room which makes the stay very pleasant. The staff were very helpful and friendly, am very satisfied with what Penang Hotel Collection had to offer.

Wonderful stay”

Clean and neat hotel located at Macalister Street. Surrounding by lost of street food. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Will definitely coming back.

Perfect stay with good location in Georgetown, ”

1. Excellent interior designed and renovated new hotel, cosy and pleasant room 2. Friendly and helpful staffs, with good services and big smiles on faces 3. Good amenities provided, best cleanliness 4. Good location with walking distance to New Land night market, food centre right at the doorstep, most of the famous food places and attractions are within walking distance 5. Very cosy and great location”

The hotel was very new and clean, the rooms were cosy and the hotel itself is well located in Georgetown, close to many delicious food joints that are the main attractions of Penang.

Great Stay”

Stayed here for two nights, worth it! The hotel is in newly renovated building and come with very contemporary design (I wish all old buildings in Penang are well managed this way). The hotel don’t have much facilities but I guess that’s why it’s rated 3 stars. The staff was nice, very professional and good hospitality services. The only downside during my stay was poor WiFi spec, no slippers, shavers, tooth brush(upon request). At least they could have made some notes in the room that these items are upon requests. Aside, I find the room & bedsheet has unwelcoming smells.

Value for money with modern design”

The hotel has just been opened for a month plus so everything was very new and clean. The size of the hotel room was bigger than I expected so the whole stay was very comfortable for me. I particularly love the modern design of the rooms (we're talking black basins and black showers here. My favourite color 🤩). The hospitality which we received there was great as well. All the staff were very helpful! Definitely recommend this hotel to holiday goers.
