Salty water, no hot water”
Very small room, old, and dirty. The water is salty maybe it's because of its location that is on the coastline. The hot water was not working so you have to shower with freezing cold water. The distance between the elevator to my room was really far. It's like working out every time I want to go out or back to my room. One thing that I like from this hotel is the breakfast. It's okay!

Many shortcomings- very brackish shower water (salt content unacceptable) is high on the list. Surround area is in partial ruin and garbage litters the surrounding grounds.

Photos are deceiving, the dirties hotel in Town!”
I booked my stay due to the beautiful panoramic photos post on the website. We I got to the Hotel, I was shocked to see how dirty the room was. The bed sheet were stained, toilet does not looked as it has been cleaned for years, head shower was rusty, mould everywhere, but the worst part of the hotel was the towels, they were ripped on the edges, hole and stained. How the hell did this hotel gets the 4 stars rating,. Lion Hotel is no more that 2 stars Hotel. One more thing, this Hotel does not have a private swimming pool. The swimming pool is outside the hotel with no security barrier so it's on public view. It is located in public area where street vendors are behind the hotel. To get to the pool you must walk pass the empty, dark and deserted mall (no longer operated) approximately 5 minute walk from the Hotel Lobby.

Not Well Maintained, Not Worth The Money Spent”
Bed Sheet has stain on it, room is dusty, wallpaper is tearing apart, glass door in the toilet is filled with water spots (they dont clean the glass maybe?), toilet floor is dirty, cleanliness is definitely a problem in this hotel. staffs arent helpful at all, when i checked in there is only one staff standing by at the reception, while a group is waiting to check in, thus causing long waits (they seriously need to employ more staffs). Hallway is dark and creepy (they dont turn on most lights, saving electricty bill?) i definitely wont go back, prefer choosing other hotel which has better aspect in almost all.

Trust me just don’t. Before we decide to stay at this hotel. We were staying at way more cheap hotel because all of the hotel in manado was full. But the quality of the cheap hotel is much much better than this lion hotel. The room of lion hotel was stink, the bed full of stain. Its dirty, everything’s negative. The furniture are broken.

Friendly and attentive staff.”
I enjoyed my stay at Lion Hotel. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. They were always willing to please. Overall the breakfast was good but I wish it had more choices. The dining room could be nicer. My view of the city wasn't great but I didn't stay there for the view. Also, the internet connection was poor. I had good wifi but I think because of the floods in Manado the infrastructure was suffering.

Good Hotel. No less. No more.”
Overall my stayed at Lion Hotel was good. Room is perfect on interior decoration, beautiful sea view from the room, breakfast is also good, they served traditional Manado porridge, but some corners are dusty, and at my room the hot water from the shower is not work. So i should took a bath with only cold water :( Location is near from the mall, some restaurant that provide Manado food, and the dock to go to the Bunaken Island.

The hotel was close to the city center. It's a new building and plenty of rooms however although it is managed by Lion Group there was no check in facility for the Lion Group flight.

Almost there but not quite”
We want to like our stay but there was a lack of hot water in our room. We did get luke warm water but never as hot as we would like. We complained to the staff and they sent their engineering staff and all the could do is ask us to run the water longer, which we did but without much success. There's also no pool at the hotel and the hotel is situated in an unfinished complex so a bit too quiet for our taste. Apart from that, the staff were lovely and the breakfast is not bad but we had to wait a while as it seemed not only the guests eat there but the locals as well. We really want to like this hotel but the lack of consistent hot water and swimming pool make it not convenient when travelling with children.

Hotel managers getFront desk managers ,staff spoke excellent english. They were patient problem solvers. All major us chains could learn. Some rooms are tired. Some are extraordinary. All receive a top quality breakfast buffet with 20 or more dishes and multiple fresh prep stations and that amazing strong fresh brewed sulawesi coffee.

Lion Group has evidently bought this hotel and mall cheaply from a bankrupt. My assumption. The problems: nice room with peeling wallpaper, weird frosted view window out to sea, pointless little balcony, disastrously unstable WiFi with snail slow internet, small grey (white) towels, pool not part of hotel building, ordinary breakfast at price point. Good things: upmarket redecoration in halls and lobbies floors 5 and 6, balcony bar, excellent fitness centre. As per title: I cannot justify the cost of the seaview room and etc. at the price point. The location is at the western edge of the city centre precinct. Near to a mall but far from nighttime activity, although one can travel be angkutan kota, cheaply.
