very nice large spacious rooms...”
la mirada is not a hotel but a block of condos, with a fitness centre downstairs, it has no restaurant but does share and have use of the 2 hotels that are right next door to this condo, it is in very quite part of cebu called new mactan in this area there seems to be a lot of building going on new hotels malls getting built, for me for 3 nights it was a nice quiet place to be I was with my gf and it was very romantic there, you can use the 4 other pools in the 2 hotels next door also their restaurants, staff and sercurity are very polite and will help you with anything or any problem... condo is in gated complex with lots of sercurity....ideal for family's and couples....the only downside is the lack of places you eat apart from the 2 restaurants in the 2 neibouring hotels, you will have to get a taxi which are very cheap to either Ayala mall or sm mall or mango square, the only other problem is taxis, because of location you have to wait for a taxi to drop someone at hotel then you can jump into that taxi, or reception will ask sercurity to walk up to the main rd to get you a taxi.... if you don't mind eating in every night then it's ok, it is a lovely place in lovely land scraped area very safe inside complex and great pools, the guests here are mostly Chinese and Japanese, breakfast was dissapinting unless you like rice and noodles every morning at 8 am ... I would stay again definitely, I think when the other malls and hotels in the area are built it will be a lot better... overall a great stay...

Value for money”
I invited my Filipino friend & her 2 boys (8&9) to stay with me for 4 nights holiday. We swam, & swam & went to the gym.The staff were outstanding, even agreeing to make up our room after noon! I rate them 11 out of 10! The only disappointment was the "dirty" beach that closed at 5pm daily. We did not go there when it was open. Also La Mirada is in a "complex" of 3 motels. Transport is only by taxi. (They are cheap) The surroundings are very pleasant & quiet. Great value for money (for 3 star motel). Again WONDERFUL staff. I would stay there again. (Didn't use dining facilities)

Excellent Staff”
I have stayed in this hotel many times and in fact have made a few reviews. I want to write this one to commend the staff for their excellent service. On the day of my departure, I had to take a 06:00 flight. I set my alarm on my ipad for 04:00. Unbeknown to me then, somehow the clock on the ipad was on Chicago time (this I found out later when I had the time). It didn't go off of course. I was only waken up when my friends came to fetch me downstairs at 04:18. We rushed to check out. While waiting for the lift, we saw a housekeeping guy going by (presumably going to our room to check). When the lift door opened, the doorman was waiting there to take our trolleys to the waiting van. The receptionist at the counter just asked me did I take anything in the room, and asked me to sign. We managed to finish checkout and drove off in less than 30 seconds. We made it to the airport in good time. This is excellent service! The staff's efforts are also shown in trying to arrange transport for guests. Because the hotel is somewhat away from the main roads, it is extremely difficult to get a taxi. Usually front desk will try to call a taxi, and there will be a 50 peso surcharge. On Saturday night, I waited almost an hour for a taxi. I have made repeated suggestion to the management (not only of La Mirada, but also Sotogrande, and Vista Mar, as they are all under one group - Sta Lucia) to arrange a shuttle service to get guests to the main road or Mactan Newtown where guests could get transport. All they need is a small car. And they can charge guests for the service. The 50 peso surcharge to taxi-drivers can be paid to the hotel for the shuttle service instead. I am sure it is a viable side-business. But more importantly, it is a valuable service to guests. I have booked my January and February trips to stay in Sotogrande. But I want the staff in La Mirada to know I truly appreciate their help.

very nice operation but isolated”
The buildings (La Mirada and Soto Grande) are virtually identical and share the same beautiful pool (watch out for the very strict pool staff, who love to blow the whistle if you get too boisterous!) The restaurant and wifi are at Soto Grande, and guests are also welcome at the third hotel in the clump (Vista Mar), which has two nice but smaller pools including an infinity pool at the beach. There is a small beach and an area for swimming which has a lot of seagrass but seems clean. There's a little shop at Vista Mar and this is the only place to buy snacks or little items - otherwise you have to order a taxi and leave the entire area to get anything. The downsides are definitely the remote location with having to call special taxis to go anywhere, and the lack of general wifi. Also a creepy number of centipedes everywhere on the grounds, but that is nature! The pros are lovely buildings and cheerful, helpful staff. Also, there is a dry sauna as well as a hot tub in the change room of the gym in LaMirada that you can use if you ask the staff in advance.

Great place but very far away”
La Mirada is a nice condo (instead of hotel) with new room, which is clean & comfortable. The staff are super friendly. There is a balcony overlooking the sea & also mactan cebu airport runway. It also has LCD TV with lots of channels & almost all the basic requirements. Unfortunately the fridge is not working. The only disadvantages are the location is too far away, located in a very secluded area, and also there is no internet connection. You have to go Sotogrande hotel lobby to get the Wifi, which is very troublesome. Overall it is a nice stay if you dont mind the secluded location & to spend extra cost to pay for taxi, which has to be called by receptionist every time you are going out.

Getting In and Out ”
I have been coming to La Mirada and Sotogrande for years. I have made suggestions for improving the transportation quite a few times. Now that Mactan Newtown is up and running, running a shuttle service to Mactan Newtown seems to be a viable option. There are three hotels in the clusters all run by the same company. How much are the costs for running a 1/2 hour shuttle to MNT? The alternative is calling taxi, and the surcharge is 50 pesos to 100 pesos, a large sum in comparison to the fare. This trip I had a very unpleasant experience when we asked for a cab. We asked the front desk to call a cab and sat down and waited. It was shortly after 5 p.m. (on Sunday May 1, 2016). After about 15 minutes a cab pulled up and a couple got off. I asked could we take that cab. The receptionist stopped us suggesting that one of the hotel staffs was getting one for us at the gate. We appreciated the effort but thought that it would be such non-sense for the staff to flag down this empty cab (there is only one gate) and come back. The cab never came back. Either the staff was useless or the cab was taken by someone else (in another building, with or without calling for one). We eventually waited for over an hour to get into one. WHY STOPPED US? She said what if we got on this one and the staff got another one. It would seem so easy to just call the staff out at the gate to stop trying. I was thinking the staff would come back with this one. I was wrong. It just shows there were others waiting too, and we were penalized for calling for a cab. Anyway, the transportation issue must be solved. There are other minor management issues too. We were in Room 5115, the toilet board cannot stay up, the door to the balcony cannot be locked (a splash of WD40 might be needed), the split type air con on top of the bed is dripping water. These things should have been picked up by housekeeping without our input.

The hotel was clean and well appointed good views ”
I really enjoyed my stay here at La Mirada, it is affiliated with Vista Mar beach resort next door. I had several meals at vista mar and found it a nice plac ..Both La mirada and vista mar have nice pools. La mira also has a great gym which I used during my stay. I was also happy with the breakfast on offer each morning.

Transport is an issue”
I have been staying at this hotel many times. And I have commented on the transportation issue many times. It used to be that we jave to pay 50 pesos extra to call a cab to the hotel, because the hotel is far away from the main roads. Starting in November, the surcharge increases to 100 pesos. To put things in perspective, the costs of the meter charge from the hotel to the biggest mall on Mactan Island is about 130 pesos, whereas from the Hotel to Ayala Mall in Cebu is less than 300 pesos. The 100 pesos surcharge is really outrageous. But guests have no alternatives! There is no shuttle bus (which I have literally advocated for years) or any form of transport. Plus the taxis are not always available. I had to wait more than 1/2 hours on Saturday night. So plan your activities with that in mind. Again I ask the management to consider orgainizing a shuttle service, even for a charge. Otherwise I need really seriously think about the alternatives.

Relaxing ambiance”
I enjoyed our stay at La Mirada Hotel. The room is very spacious and clean, swimming pool is big, clean and not crowded. Hotel staff are courteous. Very nice surroundings.

Very good”
La mirada is in a key position with access to beach, The only major issue we had was the food and the prices, The food was 3 out of 10 at best The prices of the food was expensive, and on top of the prices was a 12% vatt charge and then to add insult to injury a 10% surcharge So infact the prices shown on the menu had a 22% extra charge on top, I know the Philippines has a 12% duty but an extra 10% on top of an expensive menu was just plain and simple price gouging for a 3 star hotel,

No Surprises ”
It was a nice stay. No surprises. The breakfast arrangement has been changed so that you leave the breakfast menu card on the door handle the night before and go to Sotogrande (another hotel/apartment in the same group next door) at the appointed time to have breakfast. The quality of breakfast has improved as well. So as far as breakfast is concerned, it is much better than previously. There is still one (big) issue which is transport. Again, you need a taxi to go anywhere. And if it is weekend, it may be difficult to get one. Again I urge the management to organize a shuttle service to Mactan Newtown which is 5 minutes from the hotel and a traffic hub. Together with Vista Mar and Sotogrande, there should be sufficient traffic to justify the service. Charge the passenger 20 pesos per ride. It is cheaper than 50 pesos extra for ordering a cab, and there is additional income for the hotels. I am sure it will cover costs. If not, treat it as part of the costs of running of the hotels and raise the price. For one, I am willing to pay a bit extra for the shuttle service.

New Clean Hotel close to a small quaint port”
Apart from the hotel being new and clean as you expect, there were teething problems also expected...in my room was an electric stove and sink, none of them were actually plumbed in.. so no use, not sure why they were there actually. Plumbing was a little suspicious... it was blocked, and so flooded the whole bathroom and nearly went into the bedroom Views across to Cebu city amazing as you have a balcony...

not satisfied but enough.”
The hotel has a beautiful pool and view. The room was wide and quite clean. Furthermore, good point is located at near the airport. However, They didn't provide wi-fi in the room. It was a bad point. If you stay this hotel, you should call a taxi every time when you go out. It is far from every places except Mactan airport.

Really great!”
With Soto-grande hotel and vistamar resort, this hotel is the best reasonable hotel. Those 3 hotels share their swimming pool, restaurant and others.. Big pool is awsome! But If u want connecting room, I recommand Soto-grande hotel next to this hotel.

good but far away”
Overall a good stay as we were just looking for somewhere to relax. Its about a 25min drive to mactan airport and very far from city. Driving to the area it looks like a ghetto area but the hotel area is surrounded by large fences with security at the entrance. The only places to eat are the two hotels next door so expect to pay hotel prices. The staff here were excellent and the gym was a real highlight the hotel also has a large swimming pool. This place has some good points but is very isolated so it depends on what you are looking for.

The room & staff are so good. There are swiming pool & gym. It's next to the beach & near the sea port where you can catch boat to islands. The only problem is restaurant × 1.22 after meal. It's too high
