Fantastic, amazing, breathtaking”

We had 6 nights at Kupu Kupu Koh Phangan. Everything, from the small things like bed sheets, night snacks with a little story, every little detail was well thought threw. The staff was amazing. Always very helpfull and kind, always smiling and saying hello/see wa dee. It is pricey, but it definantly is the best hotel on the entire island. I’ve been a lot of places, hotels/resorts. And this is, by far, the best and most luxurious place i’ve ever been. They are so attentive of their gusets. We rented a scooter threw the hotel, same price as everywhere else, but the scooter comes straight to the lobby. You pay when you are done (1, 2, 3, or more days) just call the lobby from 8am and they’ll come and pick the scooter and the money for the days you’ve used the scooter. Breakfast is AMAZING! The egg station, makes an amazing omelet. The croissants tastes so good. They have a really good salami. Fruit is delicious. When i go back to Koh Phangan, i’ll with no doubt, stay at Kupu Kupu.

Amazing stay!”

We stayed at Kupu Kupu for three nights. The sunset villa was gorgeous, beautiful decor and a great view over the ocean. Everything was clean and functional. Quiet resort, beautiful pool and a small 'beach' area close to the ocean (though no actual beach access). Food and drink at the restaurant was a bit pricy but very good, and the location is ideal. What made our stay most memorable was the staff, everyone was friendly and really went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant holiday here. Would absolutely stay again, and highly recommend!

Great stay even in cloudy days!”

Me and my wife were at Kupu Kupu on the monsoon season, but even with rainy days we had a great time! The hotel is just espetacular! Every room has its private pool and a great bathtub! Even the common area is cousy and the pool is awesome with a great sea view! The beach in front of the hotel looks like a private beach and the water is warm and blue! The staff is pretty friendly and the restaurant food is very good! The hotel is a bit far from the “city” or any restaurants/coffee (25min walking)! The food and drinks are not so cheap but totally worth it! You’re in Thailand and supposed to be on holidays! So enjoy it!

Beautiful resort, beautiful beach, amazing room and lovely staff. ”

We stayed at Kupu Kupu for 1 night for the Full Moon Party, as soon as we arrived we got a free upgrade, they gave us cottage with a personal mini pool looking into the sea. The cottage was simply beautiful, with all facilities kept in mind for a luxurious stay. The beach outside was a highlight, isolated and pristine turquoise water. Overall its a tasteful resort. The staff takes effort to look into details, while we were leaving they wrapped our luggage to save it from rain, along with giving us a free drop to the pier. A great option to stay if you are looking for a couple alone time at a isolated beach.

We've stayed for 6 nights in the sunset villa on the hill. Nice balineese house with plunge pool,tasty breakfasts, lovely beach. To see the iseland, you must rent a bike Koh Phangan has very easy navigation and few roads

Luxury Villas With Pools”

Amazing place to stay, no where else like it on Phangan. Bali style villas, comfortable, great views of the beach/pool & amazing sunset. Staff very friendly. Stunning location. The beach is clean and staff removed any trash washed up, though left the piles of seaweed that float there, it was low season so perhaps not a priority.

Beautiful Resort”

Fantastic location on a beautiful part of the island and the hotel layout is superb. All rooms appear to have water views and with the reception and restaurant centrally located also providing amazing views of the resort and ocean. Would happily recommend this place to anyone going to Koh Phangan.

I had a wonderful stay in Kupu-Kupu. The place is absolutely stunning and made me feel so relaxed and calm. Staffs were friendly and attentive.

Disappointed”

We stayed here just before New Years. The hotel rooms and accommodations were nice, but we had a major problem with the resort's transportation. We coordinated with the hotel to pick us up from the airport in Koh Samui at 5:30pm to take us to the ferry. Unfortunately we missed the last ferry out because our flight was delayed. The hotel offered to charter a boat for us, but tried to charge us 16,000 baht, which is outrageously expensive. We said no. Then the driver, who works with Kupu Kupu, tried to charter us a boat for that same amount as well. Again we refused and negotiated a boat for 8,000 baht, still very high, but half of what the hotel tried to charge us originally. When you spend thousands of dollars at a resort, you would think, or hope, that the hotel staff would look out for their customers and try to keep them from getting overcharged or ripped off. But the staff here did not look out for us-- they tried to price gouge us by only offering one extremely overpriced option. The fact that I was able to charter a boat at half the price that the resort (and its driver) tried to charge us shows a complete lack of customer service. Also the driver who dropped us off at the boat also said he would arrange a cab to pick us up upon arrival to Koh Phangan. When we arrived at the pier there was no taxi there to pick us up. After waiting a while in the dark for a taxi that didn't show up, we were forced to walk and find our own transportation to the resort. This was not a good way to start our stay here. To add insult to injury, when arrived and notified the woman at the front desk about our travel problems, there was not even an apology. She couldn't have cared less. We were really looking forward to Kupu Kupu. Of the 6 resorts we stayed at during our Thailand trip, this was the most expensive resort, but our least favorite. In the future I'll stay at Santhiya, which had a far more helpful staff.

Amazing Resort, located on a beautiful beach (not really suitable for swimming) The service is wonderful . We stayed at the standard room and they upgraded us to a pool villa Standard room is a beet Disappointing, The pressure in the shower is very weak and there is not hot water all the time. There is an extra bad that takes much space, we didn’t complained because we were upgraded to a pool villa due to toilet flash. That was very nice of them! I recommend the resort to improve the standard room because it have a big potential. The pool villa is amazing!!! Big and cozy room with beautiful bath The location is perfect! Close to everything! I recommend you to rent a scooter and go and explore the island, the beaches near bay is amazing !!!WE LOVED THE RESORT

The best place to stay at koh phangan. We will definitely come back again. We came there for a romantic stay (honeymoon) and was more than sattisfied! Very recommended!

Amazing view, lovely place, nice staff”

Enjoyed this place very much. Nice villas, with a large bed and nice bath tub behind. Good size shower. Nice and clean and amazing view across the little beach to the bay beyond. The pool is quite small , a strip down the middle of the garden. But is very nice. You can lounge on some recliners in the water at the end of the pool and watch the sunset. Very nice. Breakfast was also nice (served from a menu). Easy to rent a moped at the hotel. My only issue was some noise during the day because they were still building one villa. I do think that should be noted/flagged by Agoda at time of booking.

Need a renovation ”

By named Spa by L’Occitane definitely attracts a lot clients. We booked the hotel through Agoda, at the check in was told we had double booking. Because the hotel only has contract with Booking.com, not Agoda. The receptionist handle the situation well for us on the phone. On top of my other review, that the restaurant staff won't allow us to return two can of coke at the check out, because it's already entered into the computer. He was quite rude, made us had bad tasty when leaving. The mini bar price is definitely one of the most expensive 5 stars hotel I've stayed at, even more expensive than some of the top five stars. I would recommend the hotel look into your pricing. 130Baht for a can a coke, when can buy form convenient store for less than 10baht. this is a 13 times higher markup which is really a rip off!

Our best hotel in Thailand!”

This hotel is very exclusively. The rooms are very big and the own pool is just luxury. But also the restaurant and pool area outside is wonderful. The beach is clean and very beautiful! I am the third time in Thailand at many places but this was the most beautiful hotel I have been. But it was also the most expensive one. I consider to think about if you really need this luxury if you also can have a nice beachfront bungalow at Koh Pangan somewhere else.

Friendly staff”

The hotel has an Indonesian theme. The rooms are huge and nicely decorated, and most have their own little pool, which are private and romantic. There's a nice sunset view. The hotel is on a busy stretch of the island, but feels remote because there isn't much in the immediate vicinity. So the hotel has a free shuttle to Tong Sala, the main town, which was handy. The beach (while we were there) wasn't that good on this western stretch of the island, so we kept mostly to our little villa's pool. Unfortunately there wasn't much of a view from our room, but the foliage and trees were really awesome. The breakfast was very good. Like one of the other reviewers, we found that the room seemed to be too big for the air-conditioning units, and so took quite a while to cool down.

+ : We got a room that was far from what we imagined and the staff was so patient and helpful finding us a new room. Eventualy we upgraded (with discount) to the beach front villa which was AMAZING - very recommanded. The staff is so nice and friendly, the view of the sunset, quiet, very good restaurant and pool bar, reliable bike rental service. - : Only one toilet at the restaurant and not so clean.

This hotel was a highlight of our trip. We had a private villa with our own plunge pool. The room was spectacular and the staff were so professional and helpful. The pool area was fantastic and the beach was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Amazing Time, highly recommended ”

We had a fantastic time at Kupa Kupa. Booked the sunset villa and were upgraded to the sea view villa. The accommodation is very comfortable and the staff are both friendly and attentative. The location is amazing for sunset and walkable to thongsala. It is worth getting transport while you are here to explore some of the island though. Would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful hotel with some room for improvements”

We enjoyed our stay here. Very nice beach front villa. Possibility to rent a Motorbike or Car directly from the hotel incl. insurance = Great Service ! Only the breakfast buffet leaves some room for improvements (breakfast presentation ath the buffet table and quality of coffee is very poor) no need to stay hungry but there's room for improvements. Very nice & helpful breakfast staff by the way, they do what they can. All in all we had a good time there

Great resort very efficient and friendly staff”

Fantastic rooms and one of the most beautiful, quietest beaches you will see anywhere in the world. The only complaint we had was, despite having such an amazing room, the shower was terrible. For such a high end resort with a lovely design and quality fittings, someone bought the cheapest shower money could buy. Its poorly fitted and it looks totally out of place. Should have had a rain shower! Otherwise, an amazing experience but its not cheap!
