        Exceptional”

My wife and I spend six nights at this hotel. Kokays Maldito is a very nice hotel located on the beautiful white sandy beach bay. This hotel has very good restaurant, bar as well as entertainment area, pedicured landscape, friendly helpful stuff not mentioning great location close to scuba dive shop and local market area. In summary Kokays Maldito is a local gem offering relaxing comfortable stay.

Great Hotel with Great Dive Shop!”

This hotel is FAR away from the city so think more before proceed booking. We arrived Cebu airport at 2 PM and went for lunch near the airport (the driver was arranged by hotel and he was very nice), we arrived the Maya Pier at around 7pm and have been told that the waves are too high so we need to stay in Cebu side for 1 night. I have to paid for the night stay in a cute and clean small apartment while for sure the payment i have paid to the hotel will not have any refund. We safely arrived the hotel next day morning with around 1 hour boat ride and went for diving the same afternoon. Great dive shop (hotel dive shop named Dive Society) i have to mention, with great diving master that can take care all your needs. Both of us (2 of us) were holder Advanced Open Water certificates already so booked for guided tour looking for the Thresher Shark and White Tip Reef Shark. Jera, the diving master, was the best we have ever met! He is good at finding good spots and location with a lot to see! we successfully found both sharks and mark an unforgettable experience here in Malapascua!! Anyway, the hotel was also cute and clean. The restaurant served great food which my friend, which is a vegetarian, also enjoyed her stay here! Must try their pizza and the traditional Mango dessert!! To be honest we didnt even walk out the hotel during our stay here (4 days) except the dives!! We were so sad that we needed to leave this beautiful island and hotel and will definitely come back!

        Very Nice Dive Resort”

We book for a week to stay and dive. The staffs are super friendly and all waitresses are very beautiful and cute :). Due to the extension of the previous guest, we were arranged to the top roof room for 2 days in the beginning. It's a huge room with modern facilities, however, the slope shape of the roof, we had to be very careful when we were walking around the room. We hit the head and arms for few times. If the manager could provide some notice or protection would be much better. Also, it is a little bit not convenient for diver as there is no hanging place in/out of the room. Later we moved to the room we booked, it is a lovely room. The food in the resort is remarkably good with the big dish. As it was not the best season to dive, the visibility was not that good for early morning shark dive. Besides, if you are planning to do underwater photographic, it would be better to request a private guild as the DMs has different level. We would love to come back for future trip.

A well located and best sunset in Malapascua”

A convenient and well rounded place to stay in Malapascua. Rooms are good and clode by the beach a restaurant. Special recommendation for the bar/restaurant as it has very good price/value and great place to see the sunset and good crowd Only negative spot is the dive shop they recomend in front hotel that is not up to standards for malapascua

        Wonderful stay ”

We stayed at the resort just after a typhoon had passed over the island and causes a lot of damage to everything. The resort was technically closed temporary but because they could not contact us they we able to get part of the resort up and running for us and did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome. We had a room with a king size bed and lots of room to move around. Great view from the balcony. The only negative part was I felt the AC may have been a little under powered but did its job. Would definitely stay again. Within walking distance to everything and everyone on the island was great.

        Great stay!”

We loved our stay at kokays. The rooms are big and spacious, with nice details and a super comfy bed. The restaurant serves a great breakfast and delicious meals and the private beach is perfect, quiet but still close to everything. The staff is really nice and we would recommend this place to everyone!

        Amazing breakfast.”

        location, breakfast, quiet

We loved our stay there. Each morning we had a breakfast that was second to none and arranged our pickup for island hopping for right out the front. It's right handy to the ferry building too. Malapascua feels a lot more remote than Boracay or somewhere but well worth coming to for water activities. Rooms are cheerful and ideal for getting out of snorkling gear. Would happily return, I hope things are better after the Typhoon which damaged the island/hotel...

        Very Pleasant stay”

I and my husband really enjoyed our stay here last November 19-20, 2016. We particularly loved our room and our small veranda fronting the beach. The facilities are high standards and the beach fronting the resort was calm. The location of the resort was quiet, away from the parties on the other side of the island, which is ideal for some peace and quiet . We had a great time eating our breakfast at the beach front .. The food at their restaurant was also very very good specially the pizza. We really had a great time and we would like to go back here in the near future..

        Good choice ”

Although at first I didn't like the turmeric coloured building, the resort really grew on me. The rooms are very quirkily decorated but actually they are rather cute. We had room 11 upstairs in the corner, which had a small but good beach view. The only thing with the layout is that the downstairs level is super exposed to the restaurant and bar area (plus the divers continually walking thru from the beach to the dive shop Dive Society). I think it would be good to put in some type of wall or separation to give more privacy. The hotel's restaurant is very good with an extensive menu. It gets pretty crowded in the evenings, although the sound didn't carry too much which was a relief. The breakfast (which was included) was fantastic. The love heart sun lounges although a bit cheesy were great to chill on in between dives. The staff were all very lovely and accomodating. The service in the restaurant was pretty good compared to what we experienced else where

we stayed there for 5 days and didn't want to eat anywhere else as the resort restaurant was the best. Staff are very nice and including the staff at their in house dive center.

        Supreme room, tasty food”

I've stayed here for 5 nights. Both the resort and dive shop are managed by a Swizterland company. Staffs are beautiful and friendly. Facility of room are new, but few chargers.

The resort provide abundant food, and good wifi signal.but I don't recommend the Dive shop, even there are less divers than others. I had a terrible morning waiting outside door at 4:45am, but the dive shop's girl with key didn't show.

Resort was very nice. My expensive room was not worth the money”

Good location right on the beach. The beach had good sand and was good for swimming (during high tide). Restaurant and the food was good. Staff was mostly good. They have a dive center across the street which was also good. What wasn't good (at least for the money you pay) was the penthouse room we had. It was room 14. As others have said, the rooms are decorated in a quirky fashion which is cool. However, the ceiling in this penthouse room is angled in such a way that basically the only place you can actually walk upright is between the front door and the shower (which is in the middle of the room). Everywhere else you have to bend over or hit your head on the ceiling. So while the footprint is large, the usable footprint is quite small. The overhead shower is nice but it's definitely not private. Don't book this if you're sharing a room with someone that you're not comfortable being naked in front of. There's no balcony to sit on, or place to hang wet clothes like every other room had. If you want sunshine you need to go out to the beach. It's an interesting room but it's not worth anywhere near the $175 USD per night I paid. Wish a smaller room with a balcony would have been available. That might be worth the price...

Nice room, nice location but too expensive for what you get and worms in the sink!”

Let‘s Start positive: the room was big, the bed comfortable, the staff kind, the fact that they offer „beds“ at the beach was great, and the eggs and bacon at breakfast were delicious. Negative: I am not sure how this resort can be rated at 8,8. First of all our bed sheets were humid to wet everyday. Even after mentioning it to the manager. The drain of our sink was clogged from day 2. We assumed the staff would notice while cleaning it but either they did not clean it or they did not want to notice...as I wanted to brush my teeth in the evening of day 5 the water was still in the sink not as the days before when it did go down the drain after about 10 minutes. That evening there were tiny WORMS (!!!) in the sink swimming around. I have to credit the manager here for getting someone to remove the disaster after telling her about the worms. No apology though. Aside from that everything seemed clean. All in all I would not recommend the resort, at least not at this price point!!

        Basic Island resort”

The place is off the bounty beach. Resort has the best view of the sunset but Beach infront of resort is dirty since the resort is in a populated area where local floks are residing.

This place is amazing. Great staff, great hotel room (premium) and very good food which wasn't too pricey. Ritchel helped us with a private van and boat transfer, and she made it possible for us to arrive very late at night... We really appreciate. Gernerlly, we have been very satisfied with our stay and have absolutely nothing to complain about. We hope to come back one day. Warm greetings from Rune & Rikke
