Pattra Vill Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Lamai,Lamai - View on map
"We extended our stay to a total 3 weeks. Our room ( Deluxe Room) was on the second floor and has very high ceilings, excellent air conditioning and a veranda that was large enough for two people to do yoga comfortably. The room was cleaned and prepared well every day. The pool here is SALT so very comfortable if you dont like chlorine. The pool is long enough to swim laps and still has a natural shape to fit in with the beautiful well kept gardens. The pool and garden provide a very relaxing hide away from the street which is only a few seconds away. The resort is separated from the main street of Lamai by a short drive way and a security desk so no trespassers like the beach resorts and its easy to forget the busy streets outside while in the hotel grounds. The feel here is much more relaxed than Lamai Beach and the water is flat which is nice if you dont like the waves at the Lamai beach. The Beach is only 3-5 mins walk !!! The pool area sun chairs dont feel over crowded like the beach resorts and the area feels very clean, new and well maintained. There is also a fitness room to exercise again with good air con - the Sauna and massage room is not opened yet... its there just not operating. There is so much food and massage starting only 30 seconds away on the street. The Hotel only serves breakfast but local food is so easy with so many local shops and market. As a couple we were very happy here.... there is many families visiting Lamai and many staying at this hotel enjoying the pool. The only concern for some people is the Deluxe rooms do get a bit of noise from town in the late night. It was no problem for us and we woke up early every morning to do Yoga on the veranda. If you have babies or are a light sleeper perhaps book the other rooms or villas. The families staying here seemed mostly very happy especially the kids!! . We would like to stay here for a few more months - maybe next holiday. My wife really liked the service here, the staff arranged rose p"

Ammatara Pura Pool Villa (SHA Extra Plus)
Lamai,Lamai - View on map
"My wife and I just returned from one of the best holidays we have ever had, and a major contributing factor was our stay at Ammatara Pura Pool Villa. The hotel is absolutely stunning. With only 18 pool villas on expansive and immaculate grounds, the feeling of exclusivity and peaceful luxury is pervasive. The units are beautifully and tastefully decorated, are very spacious and comfortable, and have all of the amenities you could possibly need. The private infinity splash pool with built in jacuzzi seats was the perfect size, and our unit provided a high level of privacy on our private deck and pool. The semi-outdoor rain shower in the private entry courtyard was unbelievable, with natural light and the sound of the waves in the background. Because the resort is large compared to the number of units, there was never a problem getting lounge chairs by the pool or on the beach, and it was always extremely quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and all spoke good English, so we had no communication problems at all. We had one small problem with the room, which is not even significant enough to mention in this review, and the Resident Manager, Mr. Arijit Ghosh, showed great concern and took great efforts to ensure that we were completely satisfied with our stay. The beach is absolutely stunning, and having walked up and down most of Lamai Beach, Ammatara Pura Pool Villa was clearly the most luxurious resort on the beach. Every passerby walking along the beach stopped to look at the hotel, and many came off the beach to walk the grounds and take photos, such is the beauty of the hotel. The hotel is only a fifteen minute walk (along the beach or roadway) from Lamai village, but the hotel has a Tuk Tuk that can run you into town for free in five minutes. My wife and I will definitely return to Ammatara Pura Pool Villas in the future, and cannot recommend the hotel highly enough for those looking for a luxurious and peaceful retrea"

Sandalwood Luxury Villas (SHA Extra Plus)
Lamai,Lamai - View on map
"We stayed as a group of three in the Jasmine Villa. We had two king size beds on two floors, a large bathroom and a big balcony with a stunning view on the island and ocean. The hotel consists of a few villas that are placed over the hill. I really liked the facilities. Everything is done with love for detail. The staff is very friendly and always assists, if you need help with anything. We booked our ferry and a scooter via the reception with no additional costs. The Villas are located between Chaweng and Lamai Beach on top of a hill. It is very exhausting to walk up the hill, but there is always a shuttle that will pick you up at any time from the bottom of the hill at the main road. Also there is a free shuttle to either Chaweng or Lamai Beach at certain times during the day. And the cars will bring you to the close-by beaches at any time during day. The only negative aspect about our stay was the breakfast. It was a very small buffet, that leaked of any variety."

Rocky's Boutique Resort - Veranda Collection Samui (SHA Extra Plus)
Lamai,Lamai - View on map
"We ordered 2 Deluxe Thai Villa in advance of 6 months with a good price. We arranged 5 persons in each villa. It is big enough for Maxium 6 persons to live in. It is very convenient for the family that there is a kitchen inside. The resort location is a little bit far from Lamai Town, but it is very quiet for relaxing. The hotel beach is very clean and lovely. The taste of the breakfast is so good although there are not so many choices. You could enjoy the breakfast buffet + order some dishes. Hotel provided the shuttle bus to Lamai and Chaweng so that we could enjoy the shopping there easily. The resort employees are so freindly and helpful. Not far away from the resort you could find two good Thai Food Restaurants. We spent 4 fantastic days in Rocky's. If possible, we would choose it for next time."

Weekender Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Lamai,Lamai - View on map
"My wife and I stayed at the weekender for 4 nights in October 2012. The Weekender has many room types from very budget to upper class. We stayed in a Deluxe room. There are big, beautiful and clean. There is a large building at the back of the resort right near the road where the standard rooms are these were all getting a make over with a lot of building work going on at this block. The Deluxe rooms over look the pool area and the beach. There is 1 big pool and 2 smaller spa type pools below it. They are beautiful and over look the beach. As we visited in Low season they didnt have the full buffet breakfast every morning, we were able to order off a small list what we wanted. But breakfast was enough to start the day. The grounds and garden is very well kept and clean. The staff were very helpfull and Nide arranged our transfers to Koh Phangan and we were picked up at the hotel and taken straight to the pier for our boat all tickets etc all arranged and I could not have done it any cheaper myself so it saved me a lot of time. So well done Nide it all went really smooth. The hotel is in the perfect position in Lamai, there are so many shops and restaurants surrounding it that you never have to eat at the hotel if you dont want. There are night food stalls set up just a short walk from the hotel and they are amazing. The best and cheapest food we ate whilst in Samui. Make sure you eat there, you wont be let down. Lamai is nice and quite compared to Chaweng its perfect for a relaxing holiday.Would stay here again if in Lamai."

Three Trees Samui Resort
Lamai,Lamai - View on map
"Pros: The owner very took care of us. They help us find affordable rental car and book taxi that give good price to us. Breakfast was ok. The room very clean and we booked beach front room which we get very spectacular view. The place is quite far from the Lamai town. But it is ok for us. But still have family mart and makro within walking distance. (Family mart about 600m and Makro about 1.4km). The swimming pool a bit small but my kids still enjoy it. Overall i satisfied with my stay. Cons: The resort should have phone in every room so that if anything we want to ask is easy. It is because the room and the reception is quite far. The staffs also lack in communicating in english. There are a situation when i asked for extra laundry bag but the staff gave me plastic bin. Hahahaha... "

Colorize Boutique Hotel

"Lamai Central Hotel is in a great location, 1km to the beach in either direction. The room was small but comfortable, the room nicely decorated with all the modern amenities - a flat screen, small fridge, and a sparkling pool - unbeatable for what you pay. Inexpensive eateries are close by, 7-11 across the street, and a shopping mall close by. At times during the day the local road/temple next door can be on the loud side but no complaints here. Would recommend this place, and would stay again here if we are in the area."
