our stay in villa 1 (2 bedrooms max 8 persons) is quite nice although our AC did not work properly but the staff is very helpful and promise to fix the ac problem for our next stay..... great pool, great location, great beach...

The Getaway Destination ”
Located on the southern beach of West Java, Pelabuhan Ratu is one of the tourist destinations on the region that isn’t so well known by many people. The somewhat quite rural community combined with a great view makes this a hidden gem for those who seek for a getaway from the well known beaches up in the northern area (Anyer, which also is a famous spot for beach goers). The Ketapang Resort is located at the far end of the Pelabuhan Ratu area, takes a very scenic route that overlook the entire bay and the view both on the way and within the resort is nonetheless spectacular and stunningly breathtaking. The resort was recently build and reside within Cikembang Beach, a local fishermen area that also offers fresh seafood that is caught daily from the ocean. You can bought the products straight from the fishermen and the resort provides cooking services to process the seafood for you to enjoy during your stay. Overall, the services and facilities within the resort is definitely on the great side as they truly provide you with a great services, courteous and very friendly staffs. However, it is a newly build resort and one of the problematic aspect of the place is the location and how to access the area. Different than most of the places that resides on the beachside of Pelabuhan Ratu, the resort location can be quite challenging for some since the access point takes quite a climb with your car and the access road to the resort is still under development by local authorities. Travelers with personal cars are advised to be extremely cautious as the road can be very narrow and winding to get to and I personally advise to drive on day time since there are few lightning on the road during the night. Also, first timers that are using online maps to get to the resort , please do call the resort for guidance as the online maps is using an old access point that is too dangerous to be traveled with and are limited to off-road capable vehicles. It was a so so stay for me & my boyfriend, the staff was great & the room was nice. Just a suggestion pls setup a mosquito net above the bed for tree house bcs some ants & bugs kept falling to the bed. For the location wise abit too far, hard to find food around here & the food at the villa abit pricey. Private beach but full of rocks instead of sand. We decide to check out abit early & went to ujung genteng on the second day bcs we found nothing to do there.

Good location but poor maintenance ”
It was not as pleasant stay there as we had expected it to be. We had chosen tree house thinking that it would be unique experience, however it turned out to be a bit of nightmare. The air conditioner in the room was totally not working, there was no refrigerator in the room, though when we had enquired before booking we were assured by the owner that it is provided in all rooms. The ants and mosquitoes kept us bothering throughout the stay. The beach and surroundings not clean. The water in swimming pool was not clean so couldn't use it.

A nice resort in a remote area ”
The resort is in good condition with nice decoration. But the way to the hotel is really far. The beach is filled with rocks before water recedes. I did not want to swim in this area because the waves are huge and there are many fishing boats.

Very good”
The complex and villas themselves were nice and VERY clean. Meticulously clean in fact. Not even 1 cobweb on the window sills etc. But getting there was not easy. We have to drive down a beaten track off the main road. When we arrived, it was almost 11pm, and the track down was totally dark. I had to stop every 5 minutes to check. After calling the hotel, they assured us to just go ahead. But I still hesitated coz saw what looked like a dead end without any sign of life or lights. Fortunately, a motorcycle came by and they led us forward. Reaching near the hotel, we discovered to our horror that we have to park our car across a small river from the hotel and cross by foot via a makeshift temporary bamboo bridge. At almost midnight, with 3 children and 2 year old baby in tow.. it was not something I appreciated. The hotel did send some staff to help us with our bags. The next day, the hotel owner, a nice lady, explained that the recent rains washed away their bridge.

The hotel refuse to give any solution about the reservation that has been made regarding customer concern about tsunami that been happened in the next province as the resort that should be considered force majeure. How can they run hospitality business without having any emphaty and dont care about customer’s concern.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your review. I note that you did not stay at our hotel so how can you make a review? You cancelled the booking which was non refundable. You booked a special rate non refundable booking. It is our busiest time of the year and you cancelled on the day of your arrival meaning we could not rebook the room. We are situated no where near the tsunami that occurred. We are happy to move your booking to another time free of charge with prior notice if you contact us. We do care greatly what customers think and we do provide the option of bookings at higher rates that may be cancelled prior to arrival.

Paradise beyond the hills”
Akses ke lokasi lumayan off-road dg turunan tanjakan berbatu & berpasir. Jadi pastikan kendaraan anda tdk ceper dan direkomendasi CC tinggi. Tapi begitu sampai lokasi, kita akan menemukan surga tersembunyi. Pantainya relatif sepi, jadi relatif aman utk sosial distancing. Hanya breakfastnya agak siang ya, jam 8. Yg mau brangkat lebih pagi gak bisa nikmatin breakfast. WiFi tersedia hanya di lokasi resto. So far anak2 puas. Kalau ada fasilitas tambahan sprt banana boat, fishing atau paket diving pasti lebih bagus lagi.
