Absolutely will come back”
We chose this resort to avoid traffic and crowd in the city center during Songran New Year. We had made a perfect decision. The room is specious and clean. The resort is near every must-visit outside the city of Chiang Rai. It was also our intention to stay in this resort which is situated in the middle between Mae Sai and Chiang Rai. For us, it was very convenient to drive to Doi Tung, Doi Mae Salong, Mae Sai, and ancient city of Chiang Saen. We could not find any faults during our three nights at the resort. We certainly will stay here again next time we visit Chiang Rai.

Dear Khun Phanit, We sincerely thank you for sharing such positive feedback from your recent stay with us. Knowing that your experience was a comfortable and memorable one and that so many facets of our property met with your expectations is very pleasing for us all at the resort and we are happy that your dining experiences, comfortable specious room and quietly secluded, yet conveniently equidistant between the city and the must visit were highlights of your visit. We look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy more quality stay experiences with us again soon. Best regards, Sittichaya Sukrittiyanan Sales and Marketing Manager
Beautiful Resort”
My wife and I spent 5 nights at this resort just a week ago. It is a beautiful resort set high in the mountains about 40 minutes from downtown Chiang Rai. The resort itself is beautiful and we were very pleased with our room. It was very spacious and actually had 2 showers - one inside and one outside. We were given a complimentary breakfast which was ok but not much variety. Because the resort is an open air concept and it rained every day, we hadroom service on a number of nights and the food was quite good. The staff is very helpful and attentive but their english skills are not strong. As my wife is Thai this was not a big deal for us but a western english speaking couple may find communication a bit frustrating. We both enjoyed several massages at the resort and the hotel arranged some very nice excursions for us though they were a bit pricey. Wireless Internet in free but rarely worked for any lenght of time likely because of the weather. The resort seemed empty when we were there but a perfect place to get away from it all and relax.

Best resort in Chiang Rai!”
Lovely! This was my second time at Katiliya Mountain Resort & Spa. Definitely my favorite resort in the North of Thailand. Great value for money. I feel like a king when I stay here. The grounds are so nice and staff is friendly and attentive. Food and breakfast is great. Rooms are huge with awesome balconies.

Hotel is a bit far from town. U need to have your own car to get there. My vacation in Katiliya Mountain Resort was great, reception is nice, all staffs r friendly and very helpful. Thi place is like a paradise in a jungle. Very beautiful scenery, u r surrounded by the beautiful mountains. Room is nice, clean except the balcony is a bit of dust. Breakfast is ok, in fact i expect some thing more but it's ok.

Gem of Mae Chan”
had a great time at katiliya. very easy to follow directions to the resort. good spa facilities. excellent staff and service who go the extra mile. comfortable beds, great mountain views ( for the mountain suite), nice sunrise to start your day. swimming pool and jacuzzi were great according to my son ( he had so much fun he fell asleep in the room upon returning). family loved to chill in front of the fireplace after dinner. dinner and breakfast were excellent fare. will come again in dec 2012.

Quiet with gorgeous views”
This is a very quiet and secluded hotel resort hidden way up in the mountains of Chiang Rai. The views are absolutely breathtaking! The lobby was so majestic, we felt like royalty walking in. The rooms were huge - bigger than any of the rooms we got while in Thailand, combined. Food was good with large portions and fair prices. The only thing is that the rooms were a bit outdated, particularly the bathroom. There was a lot of rust and we saw several spots in the walls with cracks and slightly open spaces. Normally these cracks wouldn't bother me, but being in the mountains these spaces allow for mosquitos and bugs to meander in as they please. Overall a great two night stay to recharge from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Honestly, wouldn't stay more than 2 days though as there is not much to do on or around the resort, and Chiang Rai city is 30 min away.

Dear Crystal, Thank you for taking your time to share your experience with us your feedback is very important to us. One of the best things our hotel can offer is the quiet location and beautiful views of the plants, mountains and open sky. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the restaurant and found the portions and pricing fair. Glad to know we made you feel so special just walking into the lobby. We are very sorry of the bathroom condition and will send our maintenance team right away to make repairs. We appreciate this feedback so we may improve. We are a rest and relaxation resort and one of the best things is just unplugging after visiting the big cities. However there are some great attractions in the area which can provide for some amazing day trips. We thank you again for staying with us and we hope your travels will bring you back again in the near future Best regards, The Managment
magic mountain retreat”
katiliya is all about quality and 1st class with everything they offer the fastidious construction and fittings of the accomodation is world standard best i have seen and we go to places like centara mirage in wong amat pattaya thailand and many other 5 star resorts and katilia is exceptional for us take time to wind down to the speed and the peace of the mountains jaccuzi is outstanding- and its not a hectic resort full of kids and travellers only some quiet rich thais who appreciate what it is and where it is ---away from the rat race . cheers john and bridgy.

Home away from Home Between the skies and the mountains ”
To keep this objective id recommend people expecting 5 star new hotel with star chef and exquisite breakfast to stay at Meridien or Ananatara. This feels like a dated version or Sukhothai with homey comfort food yet friendly and courteous staff and lots to offer. We loved this unpretentious place due to its unique setting, the views are simply breathtaking! The park they have created with free shuttle will give you opportunity to escape for a little while and walk around and feed the parrots the swans and the fish, bike or walk. Otherwise you will be stuck on the mountain for the entire stay unless book your own transportation. If you're looking for an escape and those picture perfect breakfasts and dinners with mesmerising sunsets/sunrises straight from your terrace - come to Katiliya. We loved the place as this is exactly what we were looking for ( luxury is this case is waking up with THAT view ). And mini bar prices are really really cheap so you dont need a local 7 eleven!

Great service for a great hotel”
this resort is far from the centre of chiang rai, but the hotel offers tours and taxi service to several places of interests. a great place for people who want to relax in a secluded environment, moreover the hotel offers different facilities such as swimming pool, fitness, and also activities for kids. the view of the mountain tops is fantastic. we got what we came for: a nice retreat on the hills of northern thailand.

Agoda does it again!!”
From start to finish what a great trip!. From the airport pickup we were greeted with ice cold beverages and sweet lemongrass scented towels and friendly driver who spoke good english. it was a short trip from the airport wit great scenery. Upon arrival there was a super friendly check in and were informed that they would upgrade us to a Duplex honeymoon sweet!. the rooms were immaculate and enormous with everything a 5 star resort should have, plasma tv's on both levels, well stocked bars, kitchen and sensational views of the mountains. the spa facilities were outstanding also, great atmosphere and highly skilled professionals at the helm!. Also the organized tours from the resort were outstanding at great prices along with the restaurant. Although we had been there throughout low season so only 1 dining facility was available which had a limited menu but the food and staff were excellent. i would highly recommend this resort if your seeking a relaxing quiet holiday with your family and or partner!.

Hidden gem over the hills ”
The hotel is situated between Doi Mae Salong and the road to Chiang Saen/Doi Tung. We loved it here a lot, the room is spacious with a super panoramic mountain view ( even we just booked the standard room with garden view). They served a variety of menu at breakfast, including noodle/dim sum and bakery. Anyway, there was only house brewed coffee at the time we visited. Still impressive and will surely return the next time if i join the Mae Salong Ultra Trail again 🤩.

Huge Room with Everything You Need”
huge room with everything you need. great mountain view and atmospere. hotel looks so grand. very privacy area of the hotel. hotel staffs are friendly but you have to ask them the information you want. food is very good except that it is a bit pricey and has not so many choices. the hotel is located deep into a mountain. you will need a car for your own convenience. it is about half way from chiang rai city to mae sai. i drove about 100-120 km/hr. it took me about .45-1 hours to reach there. so, be sure with your schedule when you wanna go to somewhere else. the bad thing is there are so many bugs.

A perfect place to stay with nature”
We had a great 3 days at Katiliya. It's probably the best hotel of our 2 weeks trip in Thailand. If you need to get away from the chaos of the city or need a quiet place to relax with your love ones,Katiliya is probably a perfect choice. I would go back there again when I visit Chiang Rai.

Superb views, but unfinished hotel”
It's actually a great hotel that should be advertised as a four star property. This would be an honest description of its current condition and facilities. Clearly it was built with an intention to make a luxury 5* mountain retreat but either due to low occupancy or because of other things the management decided to keep it unfinished. What I mean is despite a colossal territory, only a part of it is being maintained. Some of the remote villas are closed or used for storage. Huge grounds around the villas are basically ash and debris, surrounded by trees and wilderness. As we were there, only 1/5 of the rooms were occupied, and, based on the reviews, it's a common state for Katiliya. Other than that, the resort is nice. Staff is doing their best, rooms are dated but clean, views are great. Quiet rural area and serene countryside make our stay really relaxed and calm (unlike big southern beach resorts like Phuket).

A bit worn out and strugling resort”
Mountain Resort in about 40 km from Chiang Rai. Big, clean rooms, nice garden. Friendly stuff. Last 2 km of road to resort is really horrible. I'm from Ukraine - so I'm not spoiled by good roads :) But that road looks like it's a war zone. It doesn't have holes, it made of holes. SUV or pick-up truck highly recommended. Breakfast is limited as for 5 star resort. Rotten tomatoes, rotten corn, sour "fresh" milk - be careful. When we complained about sour milk - it was immediately replaced. Good omelet, bacon, fruits. Big territory - you can call to reception to get a ride on an electric hotel car. Overall good stay, but I wouldn't go there again because of breakfasts and a horrible road.

Quiet and Beautiful with Impressive Views - a lifetime experience”
Didnt plan much for the trip but got lucky on this booking through Agoda, with 2 bedroom suite covering more than 250 sqm. and the view to the East so we can see sunrise in the morning. On the hillside mountain about 40min from the Airport. Rooms were maintained very well, with all amenities. You must book the room with BF as the food is more than decent and definitely you don't want to miss lazy morning up here before going down to various attractions or business meetings in the Central District of Chiang Rai. Dinner I would recommend in the City before coming back for a wonderful sleep up here. Don't miss it.

Best of everything ”
Prepare to come early to the resort, and enjoy the phenomenal experience from your balcony if you were to choose the Katiliya room liked me (open space view to Chui Fong) with how chill the weather was even in the afternoon paired up with a good wine and couple of best friends. Reserved the table at the restaurant and come about 5.45pm for the best view. After breakfast if you have time, I suggest to visit the hotel park. They have deers, parrots, geese, ducks, and so on for you to drive like an open safari and feed them freely (their food are ready next to their cage). Lots of fun staying here.

Great place with fantastic staffs & services ”
It's an ideal place for relaxation and great staff that one may count on to arrange all the activities that you wish to explore. A special thanks to Ms Sittichaya for all the arrangements & meeting our needs. Given the chance, we would rate all the guest services, the room, quality of food, the Spa, tour arrangements including the Katiliya Park as "OUTSTANDING". It's a place not to be missed by Nature Lovers!

Peaceful, Secluded, Luxurious ”
Peaceful, Secluded, luxurious nested about 2klm into the mountains of Mae Salong, Chiang Rai but also expansive for Chiang Rai. While this was our 3rd visit, this is where we feel its lets its self down. If you are going to charge these prices, as a customer you expect things to be right. On each visit we felt the management lacked attention to detail & there seemed to be no follow up on comments we made on previous visits. Some examples: The swimming pool not cleaned adequately, poolside surrounding area had dead leaves & ants nests. The heated Jacuzzi, water not clean, the surrounding areas not swept with lots of dead leaves, ants nests & even a dead mouse. Poolside furniture we had to clean before we used it, & make it up, no towels or staff & Poolside bars unmanned. In general the water decoration around the resort looked like they had not received attention for sometime. It is a shame and I have seen it happen many times throughout businesses in Thailand where the senior management is slack, standards start to deteriorate and what was once in the beginning unacceptable becomes the norm, then it goes down and down. There is more but that’s enough of the downside. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful, to relax and forget the problems in the world then this is the place. The rooms are luxurious, well furnished, and clean, good selection of TV channels, DVD player and you can borrow DVDs from the library, the bed large & comfortable, bathroom is huge with “His & Hers sinks & wardrobes” (stingy on the clothes hangers & the light in one of our wardrobes did not work) The views from the suites are excellent with large balcony (furniture with mold on) where you can relax without being overlooked. The staff are friendly & helpful, we found everyone we came into contact with spoke English. The facilities at the resort are what you would expect from a 4 star resort. The gym small but adequate with good quality equipment. There is a large swimming pool and
