Exceptional”

I attended a workshop at the hotel beside Karancho when I booked my stay there. I was pleasantly surprised of the ambiance and the facilities of this beach house considering that I only paid less than half of the price in 4-5 star hotels in the area. The staff were all very accommodating especially the lady who brings my breakfast up to my room. The beach was not so nice nor big but I can imagine it being a good base for when you go around island-hopping in Cebu. I heard there is a good diving spot not too far away. I left before their weekend music sessions by the beach, it would have been a nice to chill by the beach.

Really nice but if you want to have a quiet time nothing for you ”

Karanacho beach house is a great budget option. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Staff is very friendly and breakfast is really, really great (choose filipino breakfast option with garlic rice!). There are plenty of restaurant options very close and a big supermarket is just across the street. However, if you are sensitive to noise do NOT stay there. It will not be a relaxing, resort-like beach stay. The beach is public (it is with an entry fee, but you still have a lot of people at the property) and you have parties with loud sound and barbecue smoke going on until 2am. If you don't care about this (like me) it's defenitively worth a stay!

reasonable price and staffs are friendly”

It is convenient place for diving shop next to Karancho Beach house that belongs white sands resort. There is a supermaerket save more and, restaurant maribago grill where we went daily. It is easy to exchange money from JYP to PHP. They arranged taxi to the airport early in the morning. And that price was more resonable than the taxi got on the airport got to the hotel. Very friendly ”

The facility is clean and we had all we needed. The garden was cute and it is connected to the beach. Staffs are very friendly, especially the house cleaning lady and the security man. At the night, it may be a bit troublesome to the sensitive people as you are hearing a loud music from the bar next to till midnight. The breakfast is small but it was enough for us. In total, our stay was excellent.

I recommend use uber to Newtown. No pool. This would change the place a lot. Island hopping at 3,500 seems expensive from vendors at the beach

Really nice rooms but ugly beach”

Room is really nice and modern (I suggest getting one of the 2nd floor rooms). Beach is really small but the water is dirty unfortunately (sea weeds and oil slick, probably coming from the boats parked nearby). They also let in a lot of walk-ins so their beach area can get quite full. I'll still recommend this resort as a nice jump-off point to island hopping sites, but not to swim in the beach area of the resort itself.

Best value on Mactan Island”

Extremely nice people from the owner to the guard. Food is limited to breakfast from the kitchen. The guest room is modern and very nicely done. As good as 4 star. No pool but nice little white sand beach. Lots of choices in surrounding area to eat out. Loved it and will go again.

Relaxation”

The staff was always very nice and helpful. I loved that we could walk to the little beach and that there was just a peacefulness about the area. The room was clean and the beds were soft. I loved it and will definitely check them out on my next adventure to Lapu Lapu!

Accommodating and helpful staff. ”

Nice place. New building. Clean rooms. Staff was very helpful. I had a delay with my flight and they accommodated my changed schedule. Small beach front not much for lying out . But can go island hopping from there.

Exceptional”

Seems like new rooms with modern decor and great air con. The most comfy beds and pillows we experienced in all of the Philippines! Beach vibes with lots of cabanas to hang in . Close to many restaurants and they even have awesome pizza right out front.

Not what I was expecting!”

Here is the deal. This "resort" makes it $$ on renting out little cabanas on the property for locals to use the beach. So families come in with a pack of kids and food and drinks and they charge around 80 peso's per person give or take. So the guest who are staying there have to deal with that. The day I left I was trying to check out but had 12 locals trying to pay the day beach access rate so I had to wait. While waiting a school bus shows up with 30 + people so I get inline to check out - I have photos of the bus! Outside on the street I had issues with kids and beggars. Left after one night to Palawan and glad I did. I will not even go into the terrible attempt to eat there. Stay away from this place. WIFI was good. Nice room also, BUT.

The ambiance is special”

The place is really good for short getaway. The rooms are spacious and they have a small beach in the resort. But be prepared for people flocking in during weekends. They are also open for daytime rent for their cottages. So you have quite a crowded and busy ambiance during daytime. While we like our entire stay, we cannot help but notice the smell coming out of the toilet. I think, it's from beneath. To the point that we borrowed a freshener and squirt around from time to time. There's also no phone in the room so we have to go to the front desk everytime we need something. Other than those mentioned, you can still enjoy a cup of coffee every early morning before the crowd starts to appear. The breakfast is also not bad.

Great getaway to get some sleep ”

Awesome and very helpful staff. Good clean big rooms. OK beach as it does not get deep enough within swimming area but I guess perfect for children and families

Cheapest resort in an expensive area”

Its in an area with a number of expensive resorts. Its the best value in an area that is grossly overpriced. The beaches if you can call them that are 3rd rate. I will not be returning to Mactan again. There is much better out there. Expect breakfast to be late and cold. The cooking staff don't know what they are doing. I had to reheat my own food!.

Modern, Super Clean, Great rooms and Garden Area”

Totally loved it here, beach was wanting because of local boat owners blocking the view some some - owner is working hard to move them farther out. In front are 4-5 nice surprisingly small restaurants with a broad range.

the place was nice, surroundings was relaxing and the staff were accommodating. beach wise they have a small shore line but you can still enjoy the beach.

Great Staff but a foolish Owner!”

I want to give it a bad rating. Let me explain, the staff is very nice, but then the owner increased our bill for the second night to be greedy. When you deal with greedy people who lack wisdom, it never ends well. My advice is for the staff to get out of there and go where you are appreciated. All of you have big potential but if you work a for a greedy or a person who lacks maturity, your potential will die. Good luck to the staff, and to the owner we say, grow up!

Read this before booking”

I have read previous reviews on this place before booking and it came in a shock when the reality is far from those review. It isn't amazing and not worth while. During my trip to Cebu island, we have stayed in 5 different hotels. Other hotels fair better than this hotel in location, cleanliness, staff or facilitates. When entering into the room, we notice the flooring and the bathroom have aged. No upkeep or maintenance have been done. One of the shower head is broken and we highlighted this to the front desk. They said been reported to the management and this have not been fix for weeks. We had really good hotels from previous stay on our trip and this is a big upset. The wooden decking leading up to the hotel room is rotten and some even broken. Some might even get injured if this decking give way. Staff was helpful and attentive but so does other hotel staff around this region. The beach area was pitiful and uninspiring. It was small and lack basic facilities. Warning given.

Nice and with walking distance of many things”

Only got to spend one day there but it was very nice, on the beach and they have many boats to rent to go feed the beautiful fish also see the coral but just be careful of the bathroom as when the floors get wet it's very slippery, I learned that the hard way as I fell because of them.
