we have been visiting cherating periodically for the last 25 years. sadly, cherating is dying as a top tourist attraction on malaysia's east coast, with very low occupancy levels. however, the legend resort has bravely maintained its high standards. our room was newly renovated to far more modern style. the beach front and its activities and the 3 swimming pools are as good as ever. all the hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. they are all doing their best to keep cherating alive. all the tourism operators should get together with the state tourism ministry to completely renovate cherating as an international and local attraction.

The Kasturi is one of the most beautiful hotel resorts I have ever visited. It is located in Cherating, with direct access to the sea. As the hotel is a little bit outside of Cherating and as Cherating is not very big, it is highly recommended to rent a car. The Beach Front Villa was just fantastic, with an own swimming pool for free use. The food at the restaurant is excellent and does not cost much. Finally, the staff is very friendly and does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. One day, we noticed that energy failed in our villa. Only a few minutes after I had reported this in the restaurant, an electrician was already in our villa and fixed everything. We come back for sure as soon as possible.

Had a lovely time at the Residence Inn. Check in was fast, staff were friendly, and the second floor room which we got was spacious and clean. The balcony overlooked the very nice pool and jacuzzi area so we could sit there in the evening having a snack and just watching the activity below. For those who prefer the beach, it's just a five minute walk away. Food-wise, the hotel breakfast was adequate for me. I suppose there are better options elsewhere, but then again who comes to Cherating to dine at the hotel when there are multiple eatery options outside? Anyway, would definitely not mind coming back again to the Residence Inn.

Stayed 3D2N at this beautiful hotel. Let me start with the good points, clean & beautiful beach, excellent staff attitudes, nice free dinner that comes with the room. To be honest, I think this is by far the best hotel in cherating now. The bad point would be the technical aspect, the room 301 that I stay have this aircond problem that keep turning on and off by itself, sometimes 5minutes or sometimes 30mins it just wont turn on back. My 2 nights here was horrible without getting proper rest due to the malfunction aircond, and I already lodge the complain after the first night but yet they didn't rectify the problem or offer me another room. From what the management told me their contractors told them the airconds are configured in such a way? For me, I find it very stuffy as no air circulation when the aircond is off and not to mention the noise it made during autoswitching on back again. The other problem is the constant electric tripping during morning and afternoon, u can experience up to 5 times in 1 hour of the tripping which could last minutes. (The bathroom is pitchblack when it tripped and u having shower) Honestly I hope all this problems can be solve asap, especially the aircond which the manager also said a lot of guests complains about it. It will be sad to see guests may not want to return back bcoz of this issues. The last would be the lack of choices on breakfast buffets. To me if I pay so much bucks for a hotel, the most important thing is they can provide me a proper place to sleep/rest and sadly to say such a big beautiful room would be bogged down by aircond issue. Hope they will able to rectify all this problems asap !!

Suria Cherating is located right at the Cherating area which is known for its long stretch beaches but be careful since it is close during monsoon season between November till March every year. Water sports facilities also can easily seen along the Cherating beach. Nevertheless the best part of Suria Cherating is that it is located at edge of Cherating near the border of Terengganu town of Chukai. You can easily get supplies and find what you need at town. At night there are few seafood restaurant for those who love seafood.

Cherating is a very special place in Malaysia, not a typical touristy area more a relaxed place were you could meet some cool locals. Tanjung Inn is a very nice accomodation. We had a beach room, which was very nice. We have been more or less completly alone at the beach. Beach rooms are pretty new, so also very clean and in good conditions. The beach and the sea aren't not that beautiful and in the sea there were also a lot of jellyfishes but the whole small village of cherating has very special vibe so we enjoyed it very much. The staff was really perfect, they organized a transfer back to Kuala Lumpur for us and helped us a lot of times. We had to leave one day in advance due to an unforseen issue, but it was also no problem for the staff. Accomodation is also pricy, so in total we had some nice days in cherating.

actually my trip to cherating was joining rip curl go surfing day on 19 dec with one of my friend. at first, i chose holiday villa is because it was the name and i thought it will be not so far with the cherating beach. but we didn't regret at all because staying in holiday villa make me feel comfortable and the food is nice also. super recommend to stay when you are visiting cherating!

We had the 2 rooms pavilion. The pavilion/villa (like a modern kampung house) is nicely kept. Master bedroom has its own TV and nice bed. Big living room. Highlights: your own private pool. 4m by 4m by 1.1m height/depth. Ideal for kids or couple looking for a nice dip. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff will send kueh/cakes to your pavilion for your afternoon "teh session." Room service is great. Spa is moderately priced. Main restaurant has good food (of course a bit pricey). Buffett breakfast per adult) is 5/10 (average spread). Don't expect lots of beach activities. Most of the in-door games/activities (including outdoor swimming pool) are served by the sister's hotel (Hotel Villa Cherating located next to it). Nothing fancy there.

I stay for 3D2N and take Family Package. But the hotel only give us one mattress only, so we have to share 4 people in one mattress. Furthermore the bathroom, the sink in poor condition make the water stagnant. The room also not well-maintained. In night, there have karaoke night and its so noisy. The best thing here is easy to check in and out, nice staff, and near to beach and restaurant
