Luisa's place is a quiet paradise”

personal attention to guests; brand-new cottage of natural & local materials (rebuilt since typhoon) with great view; ultimate place to relax, write & kayak

Just four months after Cyclone Yolanda flattened all the cottages and snapped many trees, Jendi offered a better experience than we could ever have expected. We picked cashew fruit from the trees, ate our breakfast ten feet from the ocean, and were very happy with the incredible value for money -- our cottage certainly could hold five comfortably and was well under US$100 per night. The breakfast was simple, but there is a resort hotel next door if you want fancy meals. The ocean near Jendi is muddy and shallow, but that means it's safer for kids to kayak (we saw children and adults walking and boating across the calm channel). The owner, Luisa, delivered plenty of water and an electric kettle for tea; the fridge is large and everything was clean. Guests who are used to screens will find shutters that open, but we had no mosquitoes and enjoyed watching the swallows swoop around the balcony overlooking the distant town and nearer seafront. I am dying to go back already, and cannot imagine a nicer getaway and writing hideout -- although we faintly heard music from a karaoke in town once, being nearly a kilometer away certainly made me glad that we weren't staying downtown! Great place in the ocean paradise of Coron...

Lovely Quaint family run hotel with amazing staff”

Sea View, Relaxing, Very Attentive Staff

Our stay was amazing. I dont holiday to stay inside hotels, but when i come back from my daily activities i need a place to relax and unwind (Jendi has this quality). If you are looking for fine furnishings of a modern city hotel then this is not for you. If you like a quiet, quaint place with bamboo walls and some character then this is for you. Our room overlooked the sea and every morning before breakfast or afternoon when coming back from our daily activities we would just sit on the rocking chairs watching the sea and sunset. It is a small family run place. If you spend a bit of time getting to know the manager, you will understand Coron a whole lot better. She organised a private fishing trip for us. She also gave great advice on the tours and prices. She even lent us her own coolbox. If I were to go back to Coron, I wouldnt even think to look for a different hotel.

Back to Basics”

Stunning view of the bay and the mountains

Jendi seafront is where i stayed during my first, and definitely not my last, visit in Coron. It is simple, clean and the staff is very accommodating. Reminds me of a homestay. The bonus of the stay is the stunning view of the bay and the mountains. It is a short leisurely walk to the town.

Feel like home and helped a lot. THX Luisa!”

Super friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to different types of tours in Coron. Kayak!

How can I thank you too much, Luisa, and Malvin. This is one of the best things that happened in Coron and Jendi may have been the starting point of all those gorgeous days. Super friendly and helpful. You can basically find whatever information you want there.Though the facilities could definitely be improved but that's far more than enough for budget, young, adventurous, or just simply non-luxurious travelers. Also suitable for families. One of the sparkling things would definitely be the kayak. They provide kayak by which you could go around at any time you want in a super fun and free way. Kayaking is something you never wanna miss when you are in Coron. Worth the price. Had a great time.

Great place in (near) Coron”

Delightful view of ocean (we were 20 feet away/above it); wonderful owners/staff; location (close enough to town and peaceful/quiet)

We enjoyed our stay immensely... and consider ourselves lucky to find this gem. It's not for everyone as it is nothing close to "luxury"... much more for the back to nature/rustic lodging lovers. Louisa, and brother Melvin, were gracious/friendly owner/hosts. We upgraded upon arrival to a larger/separate house (from the room we booked in the main house) as the privacy and views were outstanding. We were able to walk to town easily... and enjoyed meeting/mingling with the locals as we passed through (15 minute walk to town center). I wouldn't advise staying in town as the noise/traffic is too much. We will definitely stay at Jendi again if we find ourselves returning to beautiful Coron.

A very relaxing place”

Quiet, waterfront, good service

i was the lucky one to be the resort's first guest thru agoda. this is my second time in coron so i intentionally looked for a hotel with a waterfront and away from the town center since i find the coron town center very busy and noisy. i didn't mind the tricycle ride to take you to and from the town. the manager of the resort made arrangements for the transportation and it worked out well. the room is basic - it has its own bathroom (though the faucet wasn't working well), clean, nicely laid out, big area with lots of space to keep your stuff. while breakfast was included (which was always good), you have to go somewhere to have your lunch or dinner since you have to pre-order your food well in advance. they don't store perisbale food due to brown outs happening all the time so they have to buy the ingredients first. howeveer, this is good excuse for you to go to check out the many restaurants in town. the location of the resort is quiet and is perfect for relaxation.

nice view resort”

view, location, friendly

This reort is a little far away from downtown, but you can take moto taxi or walk to go to downtown,it's about 5 minutes by moto or 15 minutes by walking. Transportation is convenient. There is a natural garden and 4 lovely dogs. The surroundings is quiet. The view is fantastic from the balcony of the cottage and the lobby, especially sunrise and sunset. Kayaking is avaiable. The sortage is out-of-date bedclothes and sanitaryware, if you don't care it, Jendi is your best choice. Wifi is damaged because of Haiyan typhoon.

Good Value”

Pier access, mostly quiet surroundings

We booked our stay to Coron last minute and booked a room at Jendi as it was the only nonluxury place available. After reading the reviews we changed our reservation from standard to cottage. We were 4 in our group, but still elected to get 2 cottages. First be aware that it is a steep walk down to the hotel form the main road, not a problem for us ,but if you have knee problems it wouldn't be enjoyable. We arrived late and the walk to our cottage was pitch black. The cottage itself was nice, but a bit old. Definitely a great value for what we paid . The bedrooms have AC. There was hot water in the shower (after we asked the staff to urn on water to our cottage). The hotel is about a 10 min trike ride from town. It was nice not to have the motorbike and harbour noise, but we did have lots of dogs barking outside our cottage and boys playing early (pre6am) in the morning. There is no restaurant, but they serve a decent basic breakfast of eggs, meat (bacon or ham) and toast. The coffee is instant (guess you can't have it all). The staff wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to speak much English.

disappointing accommodation”

shasha and her mom

It is too far from town proper that even tricycles don't want to bring you there. It doesn't have any restaurant so imagine my displeasure when I arrived here, hungry and tired from going down the slope , yes slope and quite challenging for non athletic person like me , , more so for the aged, just to reach the reception area which no one even assisted when I arrived. The shuttle van that brought me to the hotel did not even know where the reception area is. I Went around to look for it for there was not even a signage to guide you. After I checked in, I told the manager that I am famished so they called for a tricycle, the only mode of transportation but they were not able to get one so Zaza , the daughter brought me to the town proper on a bike ride. You have to buy your meals and snacks before going back or else you will get famished. The free breakfast is served at their convenience, meaning when they awaken and not the time you want to have it. It s better to get a hotel in the center like Coron Ecolodge for its sccessibility. All tours start from the wharf which is located in the town center so I had to pay for the ride whehenever I went for tours. I wanted to get refund. but I pitied the manager and her family for there were only three of us checked in. during my 4-day stay.

What I should expect here ?”

The mistress was very kind, and the room was clean, 10 minutes on foot from the center of the town.

I stayed in a standard room first. The rooms are placed around the restaurant, whose wall does not shut noise. I moved to a cottage. I had expected to enjoy peaceful environment at least, for the mud beach is not for swimming, however the night was a paradise of dogs. I do not see what I expect here.
