"I was expecting a 'buffet' from reviews, there is no BUFFET, we were the only customer and we stayed on a saturday night, the only way in is from mae-chan, but note you must drive 7km and leave your car unattended, but there is no signal, so then you must drive your auto back to mae-chan to call the hotel to tell the boat-keeper to meet you, then hotel staff will take you across lake to where a truck will haul you 2km up the hill to the hotel. Locals use this hotel so local hill tribe kids can swim, pool is dirty. Food was ok, but you must PAY, but reasonable price, 200thb for fried rice, so 10x normal price. Nobody there, this place only gets a few customer per month. There is no buffet, because there is no groups, there are 23 bungalows, but most are not kept up, only a few are kept clean. The main area has missing windows and walls, thus this place is not safe for children or drunks. They do have 'wine' by the bottle, but its not really mae-chan wine, really a blend from 'who knows where', I would stay there again, the price is reasonable, the location is remote the sunset is phenomenal. For 1500 thb to stay with your wife alone and no kids this would be an ideal romance, if you never want to see another human being, if that's not your scene then beware. I went for the buffet there was NONE, that was big dissapoint I did get a 2egg toast breakfast, which is what you would find at a 200thb hotel. Four or Five star, sure maybe 25 years ago when this place was built, its clear that its changed many hands the current owner is just using it to fund enough people to stay there to watch it so it don't get vandalized by locals, but note its clear not a cent has been spent for years on maintenance of anything."
