"I hand a good 2 day stay at the centara hotel in Udon Thani. Hotel was spotless, although ever so slightly dated. Pool area on 5th floor was small and pool was rather shallow (waist high), Also on same floor was a massage/spa area and gym. Live band was on both nights of my stay and bar area was fine. Next door is the most modern building.in Udon. The Central Plaza shopping complex. There are other hotels and rooms for rent closer to nightlife area. If I was to return to Udon, I would stay in one of those, but just because I like to try different places. So overall a good sray"

"A hotel that seems very well managed by competent management, which is not always the case. The 8 Hotel Udonthani is located in the center of the town of Udon Thani, close to everything : shopping center and places to relax. It is located 100 meters from the bus station. The reception staff are particularly friendly, cheerful and very customer-friendly. Very professional, they try to provide all possible help in case of difficulty during the stay. The rooms are particularly clean, bright and well appointed. The bathroom is spotless. We stayed 2 days in this hotel and our stay was without any hotel problems. We will return with pleasure and we will advise for a stay in Udon Thani. A little tip : a brand new bus of the city of Udon Thani to assist passengers at exit 1 of the airport. The ticket costs 20 baths and a space is provided inside the bus for suitcases and backpacks. The Central Plaza stop is located 150 meters from The 8 Hotel Udonthani. "

"From the moment we were driven into the hotel entrance, we could sense something special about this hotel in Udon Thani. The check in staff were very efficient and helpful, and the bell captain and his staff were fabulous. The room was very well appointed and had a good sized bathroom,seating, and a comfortable bed. There was ample hanging space and a security safe within the room. On the occasions that we required room service, the delivery was extremely fast. Transportation into the city was located at the front entrance, and there were many choices of small shops and market stalls within a minutes walk from the main hotel entrance gate. I would most certainly stay at the Ban Chiang Hotel on future trips to this wonderful city, and I would thoroughly recommend other people to stay here when visiting Udon Thani for business or pleasure. The photos of the hotel displayed on the Agoda website are accurate. "

"First, the positives: The room is spacious, nicely appointed, with an excellent (commercial-grade) air conditioning system and plenty of space. The location is perfect, just a short walk to Central Udon Thani, and a small market and Western eatery across the road, and plenty of bars around the corner. The bathroom is also nicely done, with almost all the amenities that one would require--but PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is NOT connected to the bedroom. One must go through a semi-public area to enter the bathroom, which was, at times, a bit uncomfortable for my partner and I. There were no problems, it was just unusual, as we had the feeling that one of the staff could appear at any time. Now, the negatives: As far as I can tell, this is not a hotel, and it should not be listed on Agoda, in my opinion. This is better suited for Airbnb or a similar site. We stayed in a room on the third floor, which seemed to be the only guest room available. (All of the photos on Agoda are of this room. There is also a fourth floor, but it seemed to be private space.) This is a room above a printing shop (Copytech) across from Central Udon Thani. As mentioned above, the location is fantastic, but it is NOT a hotel. The description on Agoda is deceptive in many ways. There are not a variety of rooms, nor are there any "recreational offerings" to speak of. Also, the "hotel" was not built in 2015; the facility is quite old, but the room and furnishings are more recent. The staff, as they were, are a husband and wife who manage the copy / printing shop, and rent the room out on the side. They are very friendly and pleasant, speak English and Thai, and go out of their way to be helpful. Please note, though: As this is a private business / dwelling, there is no free access to the room, but the staff (the husband and wife) must be available for guests to enter and leave the facility. For those who want complete privacy, this is not the best situation, and it almost completely eliminates the"
