"This hotel has been one of the highlights of my travels around Asia. Set on a quiet road about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Chiang Rai, the fairly ordinary entrance road does not prepare you for what waits at reception and beyond. Once checked in the friendly staff guide you through a tropical paradise of plants and trees to one of the spacious and well equipped bungalows. Make sure to bring mosquito repellent as this is one of the prices you pay for staying in the centre of so much greenery. Reception staff are friendly and helpful although two of my few criticisms of the resort are that a) Their airport transfer is overpriced by about 200 baht (I booked through the tour place across road) and b) some of their tours are also more expensive than walking across road - plus there do not seem a lot of options for the solo traveller. But these are both small, easily remedied criticisms. The attached restaurant bar provides breakfast in the morning and drinks and meals at night; remember to get your daily 10% discount coupon and remember the 3 for 2 happy hours too. The restaurant have both friendly staff and some amazing food. Try the Kao Soi Gai - a new dish for me and now one of my all time Thai favourites! The breakfast buffet was perhaps the best I have experienced with a wide range of Thai and Western choices. Also easy to get a tuk tuk up to the night market (should be about 50 baht each way) All in all, the LaLuna is a gem in Chiang Rai and is most definitely on the 'must return' list!"

"We chose this resort to avoid traffic and crowd in the city center during Songran New Year. We had made a perfect decision. The room is specious and clean. The resort is near every must-visit outside the city of Chiang Rai. It was also our intention to stay in this resort which is situated in the middle between Mae Sai and Chiang Rai. For us, it was very convenient to drive to Doi Tung, Doi Mae Salong, Mae Sai, and ancient city of Chiang Saen. We could not find any faults during our three nights at the resort. We certainly will stay here again next time we visit Chiang Rai."

"I regularly travel to Thailand ... and always visit Chiang Rai. This is the best place in town. Shhh ... the secret is out. However, if you want to be in the thick of the action in town, you will need to sort out transport. Chiang Rai big bike rentals are my prime choice for vehicle rental. Thanks all at Pan Kled "

"the hotel consists of 15-20 small buildings, each having 2-4 rooms, disposed around the swimming pool. a night-lit running track encircles the site. the hotel is on the road to the airport, very close to it (free ride to/from), but a good distance from the city (baht ride). there is nothing of interest immediately around the hotel, so it is mainly a place to relax, or a base from which to go explore the (beautiful) region. you are going to have to rent a scooter or car to go to chiang rai, or pay 2x250 baht for the roundtrip every time you go downtown. i found chiang rai fairly boring, dead after 9pm, so i would not see any benefit to booking a hotel downtown. the "superior" room was very enjoyable: large, quiet, clean, well ventilated. the bathroom only had a shower, but that's fine with me. the safe was large enough for laptop + cameras + stuff. the breakfast buffet was the best i had during my trip to thailand. good choice and quality. the staff is friendly and tries hard to help, but some of the pretty desk ladies only have very limited english speaking skills (but a lot better than my thai)."

"This is a really interesting hotel in Chiang Rai. The location is not fantastic and while we were able to organize taxi's through the hotel or a grab taxi it was a little difficult for them to find it. Much better if you have a car as you probably should for Chiang Rai. You can see from the photos that each room has a theme, an interesting touch. The staff was friendly and everything was clean. The value of the hotel was great and it is a nice place to stay for a night or two. "

"A hidden gem in Chiang Rai, White House Boutique Resort is situated around 30 minutes from the airport. Its location is by the mountains, which makes this a perfect getaway for couples, groups of friends, families, and even companies who would want to do a retreat. Its owners and staff are very friendly; food is authentic Thai. Best of all, there's so much to do in the resort itself! From swimming, to Instagramming, to even just lazying by the houses or by the creek, to stargazing at night or just dipping in the bath tub by the moonlight - it's one of the best resorts in town. Highly recommended!"

"I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay and if you want to stay on the outskirts of the city. Situated on the north side of the Chiang Rai, near the airport. It was one of the quietest and cleanest places I have ever stayed in Thailand. The room was spotless, smelled fresh, and clean. The bathroom was immaculate too. Soap/shampoo from a dispenser and two towels provided. No coffee making facilities in the room, free in the restaurant. Flat screen TV with 60 channels six in English. Small fridge with two bottles of complementary water two glasses provided, toilet roll and AC. The bed wasn’t the softest but not the hardest bed I have slept on in Thailand All the rooms on the three floors face the pool, divided into four sections. A pool for children with mushroom water fountains and depictions of characters from the film ‘Nemo’ on the bottom, splash pool for water chutes/slides and deep plunge pool as well as 1.5-metre pool for swimming. The pool wasn’t immaculate but very clean. Ample parking and security guard on duty throughout the night. Opposite the entrance, the shop sells ice, beer and snacks, which we took to the restaurant area. Food in the restaurant limited, but no objection as in most places in Thailand made if you to bring your own food in to eat, many food outlets on the main road with food market and usual 7/11. Friendly staff with no English We will definitely stay again "

"The best choice if u stay on Saturdays, as Saturday walking street is just infront of this guesthouse. Breakfast set included in room rate, their authentic Pad Thai, Fried Rice and American Breakfast were great! Husband loves the Pad Thai so much. Best part is free coffee for breakfast too. Interior cafe and its garden are perfect for those who love taking pictures. Strong powerful air conditioner for Room Standard Upstair with Balcony. Best experience ever."
