Great views over Ha Long”

Had a very comfortable stay at Ha Long DC, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. One negative was that the facility’s in the gym were very lacking as everything was broken.

the rooms are really large and comfortable. inspite of having an additional bed in the room there was enough and more elbow room. The view of Halong bay from the room was spectacular. Great value for money.

Great room and functional setting”

Nice location and functional set up. Suite was quite nicely kept and well maintained. Kids (5 and 3) liked it. Not much to do within the hotel though but there is quite a bit around the hotel and easy to get to the market and mall nearby.

Hotel stay was great”

First of all, hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. thanks to them we had a great stay. Their names are as follows: tran thi diep and vu lan anh. Secondly, if your main purpose is for the poem mountain, its a perfect location to stay in as it is really near and convenient. Next, the view? it couldnt be any better! we got the balcony room instead of the bathtub one and its great! a different experience than thw others! all in all, the place is value for money!!!

Good value for the cost with a good location ”

Room was large with a very good bed and nice bathroom. Curtains are blackout which is nice. Was very quiet of a night so great to get a good sleep. Breakfast was good enough to fill the spot with omelettes to order

HaLong bay”

The staff here are very helpful though their English wasn't great, they make up for that with genuine assistance. The area is convenient for the mall, museum etc but the wrong side of the bay for the bay tours so requires a bus or taxi to the other side. Views are great of Halong bay and the rooms and general decor are good

Halong city”

We decided to kill some time in the old area of Halong city instead of the newer area where all the tourists go for cruises out into the bay. We were not disappointed with the markets or the views out front of the Karsts. It was a fascinating place to spend a couple of days in, just watching the locals do their thing. Hotel is well kept and central to everything. Good sized rooms and clean. English speaking staff is also helpful.

Got a great advise”

First we thought this place is not convenient since it's away from Bai Chay are, however, we ended to find this place as very convinient place. The big shopping center, market, temple and cruse starting pier were all walking distance of 5 to 15 mins. The cruse of the cruse company which the hotel introduced to us was fantastic. We really thank the hotel!

professional and friendly staffs”

I traveled with my wife. On the day we checked out, I forgot my wallet and some documents in the safety box of the hotel. When I called the hotel staffs, they followed the checking procedure and have my wallet and documents returned to me by delivery service. While waiting for the delivery, they kept contact with me and informed me of the status of my belongings.

Nice hotel with great service”

The hotel is new having recently opened and has a huge and lovely family room (2 bedrooms + a living room). The view of the bay from the rooms are fantastic. I am very impressed with Ms Pham Thi Le Thuy, the Asst. Marketing Manager of the hotel who has patiently answered my queries over emails and helped to arrange the half-day Halong Bay tour and transfer (Noi Bai Airport to Halong DC hotel, and Halong DC hotel to my hotel in Hanoi). She even came down from her office to greet us at the reception when we reached and again sent us off when we were leaving. The only downside is some of the staff at the Reception are not so well-versed in English and you may face some challenges communicating with them. The hotel location may not be favourable to some travellers as it is located in the opposite side of the tourist area, and in the local area (where we actually preferred it to be as we can have a better insight of the locals' way of life).

Views of the bay”

The hotel looks rather nondescript from the outside. My room was adequate . Bed was comfortable, good selection of channels on TV. The view though from my room on the 15th floor was amazing. Could see part of the bay. And there's a school nearby, to fill the mind with childhood nostalgia. The hotel staff were really polite and always ready to answer questions. The only issue are the nearby amenities. There's nothing much around the hotel, a few eating places which are rather difficult to locate. Grab is the way to go there. The hotel is of walking distance to the museum which is worth a visit if you have a coupe of hours to kill. Overall, a good and safe choice for accommodation. :)

Consider about the location before your booking.”

You should choose a hotel near Bai Chay if you'd like to have some entertainment and enjoy Halong at night. Location is OK, but you need to travel across the bridge. Hon Gai doesn't have many interesting activities while Bai Chay's a little busier. Renting a motorbike in Hon Gai was also much more expensive, 200K vnd/day for a scooter but it wasn't worth its price. The wifi connection was unstable most of the time. Breakfast buffet was served with the same dishes,bread,rice,noodles. Bug bites in the dining room. The room in Halong DC hotel was as nice as the pictures on Agoda. From the balcony, we could the Poem mountain and also the ocean. While staying in Halong DC, we saw some different receptionists but only one of them was really hospitable and helpful. She was willing to help and able to speak English. The other receptionist was even bad with directions to show us a local spa. For my birthday, I was given a birthday cake from the hotel. That was so considerate. Thanks so much!

Worst receiptionist”

Cant do much in halongbay because the weather, so we try to find do something else, the staff cant speak english well and cant recomend us anything, and for the last day we check out, the elevator was shut down, can use any electricity in our room. But, best view from the room.

Amazing hotel”

Everything is just perfect. The view is amazing. We see the bay, all the rocks and even the city. Their breakfast is so so good. They offer vegestarian food as well
