We were fortunate to travel during Covid scare. As a result only 7 people were booked for a boat that accommodates /0. Felt that we had the entire boat to ourselves. Our guide Huyen (Sunny) went beyond expectations. She was funny, helpful, and even sang for us. I left something on the bus and she made sure I got it back at the end of the trip.. Boat was clean, rooms nice and well kept. Confusing light switches but everything else was working perfectly. Crew and food was good. Itinerary was nice, one more day would have been perfect so we could relax more on the boat. Sunset, sunrise, and Surprising Cave highlights of the trip. Book with a trusted, known name.

We had a very hard time choosing the cruise as there are too many choices and every cruise has good and bad reviews. Luckily all bad reviews about gray line or other cruises didn't happen to us during our 2d1n stay. We felt totally relaxed and had lots of fun. Our rooms are at the front of ship with 2 verandah (1 can be accessed by other guests but not many know about it so we have whole verandah to ourselves)! Love it a lot! Bed is comfy. But heater took a while to warm room up. Visit to titop island isnt very pleasant and disorganised as there are far too many tour groups there. Guide makes visit to luon cave sound like it's only for those who want to kayak. Luckily we went (other guests are sent back to the ship) and asked guide if we can take the boat ride. Sung sot cave is really amazingly beautiful and huge. Luckily no tour group then. Guide is very polite. Staff are helpful. Hot showers is a BIG plus during winter. Food, average. Drinks (non alcoholic) are reasonably priced.

Boring and expensive”
Have been on 4 Halong cruises with other tour companies and loved it, I cannot say the same about this one! No entertainment, boring and very substandard food. The room was ok but not clean. I booked for all inclusive and still got charged for drinks. Agoda realised the error and reimbursed me. No support from Cruise Co Grayline apart from “taking information under advisement!”. Never will use them again or recommend them! Very unhappy :( first and last time!

Dear Karyn, We feel sorry for not having your whole satisfaction. About drink and beverages, it has never been inclusive on cabin price. 99% Halong cruises sell drinks on-board and we make sure that 4 cruises that you have been are the same. Little did you know that Agoda advertised WRONG information and we seriously DID ask them reimburse for you. We would like take the issue as a lesson to prevent re-occurrences. We just want you know that we had never intended to create this awkward experience during your trip on-board. Thank you very much. Jason Nguyen

The transport provided by halong bay cruise to pick us up at hotel for US$25 per pax 2way is not worth for the amount. we are dispointed as we have to seat on a 30 seat long bus when we return. Going is with a mini van.

Even local people will have to pay the same amount for a route of 180km round trip with a fixed pick-up points in central of Hanoi and tens of stop-overs during the trip to Halong. We are traveling with young children and gray line was very accomadating. We truely enjoyed the trip and our connecting rooms were beautiful and perfect for small children. Beware they did try to up sell us to a VIP connecting room even though we had already booked a connectin room. Once I informed them of this, they made sure we had the room we booked. The tour guide was amazing and made sure that everything was taken care of. Make sure to ask for special foods for kids before boarding. Lastly, be prepared to wait for the bus back to Hanoi for up to an hour after getting off the boat.

Pros: clean ship (older), friendly crew, good amount of activities, food was great. Cons: drink prices are high including coffee and tea. All prices in USD sucks. I which they had a dong price as well.

My wife got food poison after having lunch 1st day itself. ”
I had to cancel the trip because the food what was servered during lunch had got food poisoned and had to admit my wife to hospital. The general manager helped until I had to leave the country.

In fact, we were informed that your wife had called her doctor and was advised that she got weather allergy and was allergic with several kind of seafood but she didn't know it. As you can see, you and other guests didn't get any problems after lunch, so I believe the food wasn't poisoned. Besides, we always ask customers about their special request of food before boarding the cruise. In your case, we didn't receive any request, thus we asked you could cancel the trip & go to the hospital immediately but you refused it although the rescue service for those emergency situations available.You still enjoy all activities in itinerary except kayaking, the last activity. This was a disorganized mess in a beautiful place. We were put on a small eight cabin boat with a tiny room with less than a double bed even though I booked a king size deluxe room. When I asked for help that this was not the room I booked the guide said that it is the biggest room that they have on cruising boats. He said he would look into it then did nothing. The next morning us and another couple were told we were to pack up our things and we were being switched to another boat but we had to go on a day boat until 4pm when we would be reunited with our things. Absolutely confusing and stressful! When we arrived on the other boat we were shown to the room that we had actually booked! It turns out that a Korean family had booked all the rooms on that boat which bumped us to the lower level boat and since they only booked for 1 night we could have our room for the second! Not happy! Will be requesting refund for portion of our trip!

About the last minute change from 14 cabins to 8 cabins cruise, I have to say that it was the situation we also had no choice due to operating condition, the operator forgot to close out the Balcony cabin on 14 cabins cruise on Agoda, she just realized at the last minute on your departure date. In fact, the selling rate of both cabins you stayed is equal. Your first stay at Balcony cabin has a big terrace in the front, it is such an ideal place to enjoy the view and private atmosphere, although cabin is a little bit smaller than the one on the 14 cabin cruise, but the bed size is the same. This 8-cabin cruise is a newest cruise with new furniture so we did hope that it could balance and make you delighted with cozier and more opulent style. Therefore, we hope you can sympathize that we always try our best to provide you the best travel services in timely manner.

This was our first time here so the experience was great and well organized. You are kept busy throughout the tour. We stayed 3 d/2 n... Pros: they give you plenty of food, the staff is very kind and accommodating, sights were amazing, we told them when boarding half our party was vegeatarian and they were very accommodating to our needs, super friendly to our kids, felt safe and fun Cons: all drinks including water were not included, we expected a buffet based on other reviews and got restaurant style meal (which was fine), mattress was super hard, boat was not super clean and I was really hoping to see monkeys!

Although somewhat rushed as it is literalally overnight, the facilities, food staff and our guide were excellent. They gave us everything that was promised and the the cabin was delightful. My one gripe would be that Halong Bay is becoming dirty which detracts from its natural beauty.
