We recommend this beautiful hotel, because we were satisfied with everything: best location with amazing sea and Vesuvius view, environment, plenty of choice for breakfast, helpful staff, cleanliness, etc.

Slightly faded grandeur”
Our stay was for 3 nights in April 2022. The public rooms were very well presented, and our sea-view room had a huge outside balcony. The en-suite fittings need a refresh and some of the electrical fittings/fixtures looked a bit dodgy. Swimming pool was closed when we stayed. Staff were very helpful and a great range of food was available at breakfast. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, but some of the decor in the non-public areas was a bit jaded.

Beautiful hotel with the best location but really bad service ”
This hotel is so beautiful and has the best location with sea view. It is nice, clean and pretty everywhere. A big plus is that it is included in the price to lay on the private pier, which can be a big expense at the Amalfi coast. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with the staff service in the reception. They where not very helpful. The staff at the breakfast was on the other hand very sweet. But the breakfast was not anything special. We were expecting more from it.

Great location but we had some unpleasant issues”
Pros: The hotel is just a five-minute walk away from the train station which is great. The location is fabulous, close to the main spots of Sorrento. The views from the hotel are breathtaking with balconies, bar and restaurant pointing to the Naples and obviously to the Vulcan Vesuvius. The hotel is classic and extremely elegant. Cordial staff. Rooms are comfy and neat. Breakfast is delicious with many options. Cons: The room we booked (double room with sea view) was not available when we arrived. They put us in a double room with partial view - although I could barely see the ocean - which was smaller and and had no Wi-Fi connection. On the other hand, as an apology they offer a free dinner and an upgrade to a suite with sea view on the next day. The offer was lovely, however we were not happy about spending half of our stay in a room different from the one we booked, specially because we got engaged and this was supposed to be a romantic getaway. Additionally, we had no Wi-Fi connection in the first day and when we asked for help, the staff said she did not know how to fix it! Finally, although they offered a free dinner we were charged the juice and water we drank! Which btw was overpriced. It’s very disappointed because we thought the whole dinner was a courtesy, and it’s not as if we had ordered some expensive wine or anything.

Tutto bene. Lo staff gentilissimo. Peccato che la nostra stanza era sulla strada e quindi non abbiamo dormito mai praticamente. In realtà questo albergo ha bisogno di una bella ristrutturazione. Vale tutto fuori cioè la terrazza, la piscina e la spiaggia privata che anche lì se non vai la mattina non trovi posto

The hotel has amazing view. Other than that no plus point. The room is outdated and look like 70s and no ammenities provided. Not even a bottle of water.

Grand old hotel with gorgeous views. ”
Location in Sorrento couldn't be better overlooking the water and Vesuvius. Beautiful old building. Rooms dated and found lots of hair all over the floors. Had to call the cleaner on the first day to vacuum and mop the floor. Paid for the cheapest/crapiest room in the hotel but was only there to eat and sleep. Breakfast is not too bad either with a few choices. Generally and older crowd who stay here.

Classic & friendly Hotel with beautiful view”
The hotel staff is super friendly and the view is unbeatable, we had suite Nr 506, very spacious and clean. It is close to harbour and centre of the town and they have a direct access to sea and pool. We enjoyed 3 beautiful nights here and would definitely return

Nous avons réservé cinq nuits au Grand Hotel Europa Palace et notre grande déception a été la chambre qui est digne d'un 3 étoiles et encore. Aussitôt, nous en avons avisé la réception qui n'a rien voulu savoir et s'est montré désagréable. Donc au lieu des deux nuits qui étaient réservées dans l'annexe, nous avons eu droit à tout le séjour dans cette partie de l'hôtel qui est une belle arnaque quand on voit l'état des lieux : ascenseur pas très rassurant, peintures faites à la va vite, moquette sale et meubles rafistolés.... Mis à part cette déception, on peut dire que l'hôtel a une position privilégiée sur la baie : la vue est magnifique sur le Vésuve, le coucher de soleil est romantique à partir de la terrasse, le reste du personnel, que ce soit au petit déjeuner ou à la piscine, est très sympathique.

Ofrecen la posibilidad de habitación con vistas al mar, que es la opción que cogimos, pero nos decepciono ya que es en un lateral del hotel, pero también resulta agradable. El desayuno algo escaso, sin frutas, ni platos calientes. Bien ubicado y habitaciones correctas de la época.

Absolut zu empfehlen. Top Service, Top Essen, Top Freundlichkeit, Top Qualität aller Produkte, Top Lage Wir haben gesucht und nichts negatives gefunden. Haben 1 Woche mit Halbpension und seitlichem Meerblick gebucht. Upgrade auf ein Zimmer mit Meerblick erhalten. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Der fast zweiwöchige Aufenthalt war phänomenal gut! Ich weiß gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll! Die Lage ist perfekt, einen Steinwurf vom Bahnhof sowie vom Altstadtkern entfernt, überall ist man entspannt innerhalb weniger Minuten zu Fuß. Was das Hotel in meinen Augen zudem ganz besonders macht ist die Lage in vorderster Front am Rande der tief abfallenden Klippe. Die Aussicht von den Zimmern mit entsprechender Position ist unfassbar, freie Sicht von oben auf das Meer und bis rüber nach Neapel und zum Vesuv. Ich konnte mich nicht sattsehen! Das Gebäude an sich ist wunderschön, die Einrichtung altehrwürdig und edel, ein einzigartiger Flair! Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt, ein Haus zum Verlieben! Dasselbe gilt für die Terrassen und die Gartenanlagen, wunderschön! Es geht nicht besser. Das Frühstück war vielseitig und lecker und die Atmosphäre auf der Terrasse mit Aussicht nicht zuletzt wegen das tollen und charmanten Personals sehr entspannt, man kann sich nur wohlfühlen. Ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön auch nochmal an das Management, welches uns ein traumhaftes Zimmer möglich gemacht hat, obwohl unsere Agentur (Agoda) eine falsche Zimmerkategorie an das Hotel übermittelt hatte! Grazie mille, nur dank des Managements wurde es kein Reinfall. Ein riesen Plus ist natürlich noch die gepflegte Anlage am Meer/Pool. Mit dem Lift geht es durch den Felsen. Der Platz ist sehr großzügig, stets gab es viele freie Liegen mit Schirm. Auch hier ist das Personal top! Wir sind begeistert und wollen auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.
