Transferred to another boat and informed only three days before”
Even though I booked the cruise since late last year, three days before I was informed that there was unscheduled maintenance on the Emeraude and was offered to be transferred to another boat/cruise. It is smaller, the ambiance was not as great as Emeraude. Please beware of this last minute changes. It may not be good value for money in the end. Next time I will find other Cruise in Ha Long Bay.

Lovely 3-day 2-night cruise with helpful and friendly crew”
A lovely cruise with helpful and friendly crew who provided great service. Appreciated that they kept us a distance from tour groups in the restaurant so that we had a quieter table. The buffet meals were quite nice, a variety and plentiful. Drinks were comparable prices with dining in city restaurants, but the happy-hour prices were great. This is not a party boat, which was great for us. Movie screened was Indochina (French with English sub-titles). At our request they screened a different movie - Kong Skull Island - on the second night. The day-boat that we were transferred to on day 2 also provided great helpful and friendly services. It was an enjoyable cruise with memories to cherish.

Lovely way to experience Halong Bay”
Staff abroad were very helpful and accommodating. They made sure to inform us of all activities to make sure that we did not miss them. Rooms were basic and clean. Activities were well organised. I recommend arranging for their bus transport from Hanoi to Halong, it made things to much more convenient.

Such a change”
This was our second trip on the Emeraude, this time taking 2 other couples. Our last trip was in 2015 and boy is there a change in Halong Bay. The boat was the same as we remembered but what was disappointing this time was that the navigation differed slightly even though we went at the same time of year. I feel that we stopped overnight at a disappointing location where we could still see the city of Halong. As there are 20 fold amount of boats compared to last time I'm sure they could do different stops than every other boat, especially where they anchor for overnight. The Emeraude itself is a wonderful boat however, the rooms are lovely yet small, and air conditioned. We love this boat as it was not too big or too many people on it. Go now to Halong Bay before it is too commercialised.

No longer the same Emeraude as it was before”
The rooms, and the boat are still quite nice, despite looking very dated now. Unfortunately the clientele has shifted towards corporate and travel agencies catering to large groups. My trips to the Emeraude used to be quiet, tranquil, exclusive and relaxing. But the last trip was noisy, crowded and frankly just plain irritating. I won't be back

Fantastic company”
Although Halong bay is way over it's carrying capacity, with filthy waters and rubish everywhere, we still had a lovely time due to the outstanding service we had on this cruise. The food was delicious, rooms were lovely and the staff were wonderful, i would recommend using this company above any others every time.

Great value on a vintage cruise with fantastic service ”
The service is exceptional with very friendly and helpful staff. The itinerary was well planned with short on shore excursions to Surprising Cave and hiking on Titov Island. Also love the rustic feel this cruise gives you as the owner had preserved certain old school elements of this vessel. Overall the stay was a comfortable and enjoyable one.

A great experience ”
The staff really make the experience on this boat. We stayed in the Emeraude Suite, and everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a great time: fom the Assistant Purser, to the wait staff, to the chef. Our room was spacious and clean, and the A/C worked well (it gets hot on Halong Bay), and provided a welcome respite from the heat. Improvements could be made to the buffet dinners. All of the food is heavily geared towards Western tastes. It would have been nice to see some real Vietnamese food. Doing so would also allow them to provide some additional veggie options. Overall, well worth the money. Halong Bay is beautiful; we would definitely go back, and we would be happy to travel again on the Emeraude.

Basic ship, beautiful journey”
Pretty basic facilities. Pretty poor food, although there is a large selection, I found it to be mostly luke warm. Overall amazing trip to experience, these trips are expensive but worth it and to be honest if you're on a budget the boat doesn't really matter - you are there for the surroundings!

Very good, but busy”
We had small children in tow, so doing the Fishing Village put us off the main boat for 8 hours which can be a bit much for toddlers. Staff were helpful and attentive

An Unforgettable Experience”
This was a 'once in a lifetime' experience on Halong Bay... that nearly didn't happen. We'd originally booked a 2 nights and 3 days trip with Sun Legend Cruises through Agoda. While trying to arrange transport with the company from Hanoi, they started acting strangely and not answering our calls. Finally someone admitted that the 'boat was broken' and told us they were cancelling our booking. In panic, we called Agoda and they were BRILLIANT. They upgraded us to the Emeraude Classic Cruise at no extra cost and we ended up having the most amazing trip. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. Thanks Agoda.

Elegant and Lovely Experience”
The Emeraude is a very charming boat. Had such great character. Classy and Elegant. The calm overnight cruise complemented very well the beauty of God's creation of the rock formations in Halong Bay. A perfect get away for a week-end with its very good itinerary. The personnel were very welcoming but not overbearing. They gave us space to enjoy and relax in tranquility. Over all a very lovely experience!

Really good option”
The cruise is really nice and rooms are good and clean. The only 2 thinkgs that we did not like much are that: 1. The first day ee had to pay for all the drinks separately (like water. Coffee, tea) even though the meals are included in the price. 2nd : if u want to enjoy kayaks you have to pay extra. For the rest Halong bay is really good place to visit

Delightful cruise on a beautifully finished boat”
I thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay on the Emeraude. Yes, it was pricey, but a real treat nonetheless. My husband was quite ill with the 'flu during our trip, and the staff went out of their way to ensure he was comfortable, ensuring he was well stocked with cold remedies and cups of hot tea. The instructors from Asian Adventures, who ran the rock climbing and kayaking excursions, were also very professional, and I felt in safe hands with them. My only gripe is that we had to pay for soft drinks and water while on the boat; I'd assumed this would be included in the cost.

Wonderful cruising”
We have a very nice stay with Emeraude. The best thing I might say is the staff: very friendly and helpful. The room was small and not very comfortable but I think we cannot expect more on a cruise, no TV and no internet as well. But you can take your time to enjoy the amazing scenery of Halong Bay.
