Location and staff extremely helpful”

Been to Penang five time n find this the best value hotel ever, will stay again. Food stalls just outside won't go hungry. Excellent service, the staff Cindy and Angel they are both very helpful with all our enquiry, Can't say enough thank you to them. They are a good asset of Inn Residence 18.

The best budget hostel ”

It was a great time staying in inn residence 18. Their rooms are clean and the location is very good. It's near to the komtar bus terminal, can reach there by walking. A lot of good foods nearby this hostel and also the staff provides useful information where to hunt for good food for us.

Pleasant stay”

Room was very clean, which was beyond my expectation, even though it was not too big but spacious enough to put 3 cabin luggages and walk around. Location was good as well, hawker stalls could be reached within 2 minutes walking distance. However there was only one mirror which was in the bathroom. i would suggest at least another mirror should be placed in the bedroom for guest convenience. Another thing would be the room wasn't really soundproof. Noise from the outside can be heard clearly in the room. Overall we were satisfied with our stay at inn residence 18 perhaps next time we would request for a room further away from the staircase.

I had an amazing stay at Inn Residence 18. The hotel was clean. The location was great. It's close to Komtar bus terminal. Right in front of the hotel, there were lots of hawkers. I could buy the food easily. The staff was friendly and helpful.

INN RESIDENCE VALUE FOR MONEY HOTEL”

I love my stay at the inn residence 18. Lots of delicious food just outside the hotel and shopping is only about 500 m away. Cheap and convenient to move around penang as the hotel is within walking distance to komtar. Hotel staff is friendly and nice.

Strategic location”

it was a wonderful three nights stay at residence inn 18. The hotel is centrally located. Minutes walk to shopping center, and famous local hawker foods.

It’s just near Chulia Night Market. If you’re a fan of walking, you can walk to other destinations.”

It’s near to other attractions (like Little India, Little Penang Street (a.k.a. Penang Street Art), the different temples, museums and food stalls). The inn provides soaps, towels and water. There’s a water refilling station. Good value for money and location-wise. The room is perfect only for smaller groups as it is only small and crowded. There is no elevator, only stairs so have energy in carrying your luggages. Overall, this is a recommended place for travelers like me who like to keep it on budget.

nice location, friendly staffs, good food around the corner”

i always stay in this place for quite some times. i come to penang only for durian and its good food. Good food is just around the corner on lebuh cintra and kimberley. A truck sells durian is also in that corner. Very nice staffs will help you in any way they can. Bedroom is very clean although it's small but well all room in Georgetown is small. it's my favorite place to eat durian and other good food. Also i like to walk around the traditional market one block away.

Location, Value for Money”

Very strategic place to stay, very near to all the attractions or famous food in Penang (5-10 mins walk). The only disadvantage will be for those who drive to Penang. There is no private or reserved parking for the Inn, it all depends on your luck in finding one. But it won't be a problem once it passes 11pm. A very pleasant stay here. *Thumbs up*

Excellent stay!”

Has read about all the good reviews before making our room reservation. All were very true, esp about the friendly staffs. Besides that, it's easy to go to places we want like near to the 24-hour laundry shop, near the market, easy to find Penang food & most importantly near Penang street arts & Heritage centre. Will definitely stay there if we are visiting Penang again.

Being a deep sleeper helps for this hotel ”

Firstly - taxi drivers don't know this by name, so be sure to memorize the street name. Secondly, the room fully smells like paint (read: Strong paint) because it's new - it seems they aren't airing it enough yet - but you'll get used to it after being in it for a bit Third - and probably the most negative part about this hotel - the windows are not sealed fully - first night, stray dogs were doing mad, cars were honking and street vendors that started cooking early - all could be heard like they were in your room! i have to say kudos to the wifi - most hotels have the wifi drop off constantly but with inn residence, it stayed on without having to reconnect for 2 days straight.

We had a wonderful stay at Residence 18! It was the perfect value for two people. It was clean, and right by a nightly food market. The staff was fantastic, going above-and-beyond to accommodate a nice stay. Highly recommend!

Very good”

The Inn is located in the heart of Georgetown. Gateway to many many amenities, eateries, places of interest and shops. Check in was fast although there is a need to pay a 50RM cash as deposit and tourist tax of 10RM per night. The Rooms are basic, simple and generally clean. Housekeeping was generally regular with change of towels although the sheets were changed perhaps once in 2 or 3 days . ( we stayed for 4 nights). I would recommend this to anyone who seeks convenience in getting around Georgetown in public transport (Grab is easy , cheap and fast) and is particular on cleanliness . Very reasonably priced accommodation. Highly Recommended!

Nice location, clean, and good value ”

3 of us shared a room, and it was clean and a good size one. The inn is just a 10 minute walk away from the bus terminal, shopping mall, and supermarket. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, the street food at Kimberly Road is just a few steps away. The only thing we can gripe about is the TV; the reception was not good at all, there were no cable channels. We also suggest that their toilet and bath be remodeled to have a division for the shower and toilet, so the floor is not wet all the time. Overall, we are satisfied with our accomodations in Penang.

GREAT LOCATION”

Very strategic location which you can walk to the famous street or place. Easy to find good food just across the street. Very friendly staff. Very comfort bed room. Only the bathroom was very small. But overall we are satisfied with the stay. Will be choosing this hotel when I travel to Penang again. If you are staying here... Dun forget to eat the duck kuey chap.. You won't regret it. Trust me.

Near Everything but not in the middle of the tourist district”

I loved this location. Great street stalls outside on Kimberly street. Very easy walking to Little India, Chinatown, and the Western style coffee shops without being in the middle of all of the tourist hostels. Internet was very reliable during the day but consistently had problems at night after 11PM. I work remotely so WiFi is important. I'd say the internet at this place was good for my needs. Internet in all of Malaysia can be a little unpredictable (compared to the US). You'll likely have some Wifi problems no matter where you stay. Staff was great. They even bought a plug adapter for me from somewhere nearby and just had me pay them the cost of it. Free water, easy laundry service are all very nice touches. I would definitely recommend this place as a great value for the money and I would stay here again if I come back to Penang.
