Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort
Cua Lap,Cua Lap - View on map
"It was our 1 year anniversary and we loved our stay! The resort is nice and clean. The staff are super friendly and always smile at you. We chose Premium Delux Ocean View because it has a bathtub. I recommend this room if you like to be in the tub to relax. These rooms are located on the backside of the hotel (from the beach) so you may hear the noise from the street but it has the best view of the resort. The pool was spacious just like the pictures. We looooved it! It can be crowded during the happy hour but it was really nice to be in the pool and looking at the sunset (one of the best I've ever seen) and drink beer. Breakfast was the best!!! The coffee, pho, fresh veggies, and fruits... There were many selections, a good mix of Western and Asian cuisine, and also hot and cold. Wish there were more local food though. Thanks to Brian, Kai, and Dino for taking good care of us and recommending good places to visit. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to go back there again! "

Muong Thanh Luxury Phu Quoc Hotel
Cua Lap,Cua Lap - View on map
"After two hours of nonstop hotel consideration, I finally stopped and booked with Muong Thanh luxury hotel. The price was 1.66 million VND (~70 USD) for one night stay. I never thought that with the price for one night I could benefit that much. My travel companion and I were allowed to check in five hours early (which was a huge benefit for a five-star hotel), and after we checked out we couldn't thank them enough. The room was tidy and comfortable, which was equipped with very updated facilities. The wifi worked well. On the second day of my stay in Phu Quoc (after we checked out the hotel), the staff there provided as much assistance as they can to us, including that they let us borrow two towels for our ocean trip and FREE shuttle bus to Duong Dong town. All complimentary services I have mentioned were delivered with smiles and A LOT OF THANK-YOU. Hospitality at its best definition. "

Cua Lap,Cua Lap - View on map
"Very good experience in sol beach house, will definitely recommend to others! Free airport shuttle service, smooth check in service, spacious, modern and clean room. All room types facing sea view (subject to avaibility). 5 stars international buffet breakfast from 7-10am. Free activities like yoga, aqua fitness, gym, ping pong available. Friendly staff to call taxi/book tour/even carry your luggage to your room! Beachside pool is amazing! I can stay in hotel all day long! Cons: the hotel situated 15minutes from the town area, around 140k dong/way. Free shuttle service is provided but in limited time schedule. My room was not supplied with towels but the staff responded fast to send me the towel. Overall it’s a very good stay experience. Will come here again! "

Mercury Phu Quoc Resort and Villas
Cua Lap,Cua Lap - View on map
"After our 11 day trip through Vietnam, we couldn’t believe our luck when a chance booking brought us to the Mercure.. we literally walked through the hotel elbowing each other going 'We've done VERY well here..!'. The hotel is still new - the pool is gorgeous with a swim up bar and the beach is good. No issue getting loungers at either. The sea was calm, but they do have jellyfish signs. We only saw one (which was dead) so I don’t think they're that much of a problem and we swam several times a day with no issues. It’s shallow and you can walk out a good way before it comes up to your waist. The restaurant is good - we ate from the Vietnamese menu as the western on was twice the price. The food was always very well presented and portions very big! Breakfast is really good too - tonnes of choice and we ended up eating tonnes. For our 3 night stay, all of our food, beers, cocktails etc all came to under £90, so that was good value! The staff are good - I think we were almost the only ones there when we arrived so they were very attentive. We asked for chopsticks in the restaurant and they were pleasantly surprised I think! The hotel doesn’t organise day trips itself (yet) but the staff gave us a leaflet of local trips, and booked us onto one. We went down to the south of the island and went snorkelling and fishing. Highly recommended and cheap as $17 each. I think the operator was Johns tours (?). They pick you up at the hotel (probably a bit late as they’ll do all the other hotels in the town first as this is one of the most southern ones). The rooms were great - we had one of the bigger ones at the back of the complex, the bed was HUGE, and the bathroom great. Fab aircon, which was what you wanted after a day in the sun (note: factor 30 is NOT enough for English skin!), and we had a large balcony looking towards the sea. The weather was great - some clouds but enough sun to laze about in. It rained only once at night - so I recommend April!"

"The pool was really nice with lots of day beds and pool chairs around. The hotel is right on the beach. The beach is beautiful and was kept really clean. The best thing is the sunset over the beach. You must be surprised by the magnificent sunset view. The only thing to improve is the food. If there is more variety it will be superb."

Sunset Sanato Resort & Villas
Cua Lap,Cua Lap - View on map
"1. Location right on the beach. sunset view. 2. Beautiful picturesque scenery 3. Quiet and serene location. 17 km away from lively night market at city centre (taxi fare about 120000 dong). 4. Nice hotel breakfast. 5. Stay at 2nd floor of the villa. Big and spacious room with 1 king bed and 1 queen bed. The bathroom is as big as a hotel standard room. Housekeeper changes towels daily. The villa has 5 bedrooms sharing the living room, kitchen and a private pool. But it was as though we booked the whole villa as we hardly see the other hotel guests of other rooms. 6. All the staff are very friendly, polite and soft spoken. 7. However, part of the hotel surrounding is under construction. We find it to be too many things constructed on the beach which obstruct the ocean view from the lobby and restaurant. 8. Only 5 mins from airport (taxi around 80000 to 100000 dong) 9. Had a great 33rd wedding anniversary dinner at the Sunset Restaurant . Great food and service with beautiful deco. "

Famiana Resort and Spa

"this resort is almost where it needs to be. i made my reservations just a few days before i was to arrive. the only rooms they had available were very expensive. so, over two days, i kept looking for nice spots on the island, and could not find anything. then, luckily, on the night before i arrived at the island, a room popped up for around $165; a bargain compared to the same room a few days ago. i booked. everything about the hotel was very nice accept for the staff. the staff is very nice and trying very hard; however, if they want to be a 5 star or ever 4 star resort, they need more training and learn to speak basic english. i read this over and over not only on this site, but another site as well. i would not pay the prices they really want; however i would pay what i did pay. although i say the staff is trying very hard, that statement is a little misleading. the beach chairs are very close to the pool, and they have a few guys just standing around...no energy and no "pep". from the beach i ordered a beer, and it took about 30 minutes to arrive! at a real 5 star, or again 4 star resort, they are almost running with zest and enthusiasm to give you great customer service. at this resort, i would say about only 30% of the staff has that type of attitude. this, from my perspective is a management problem. they need to find people who are enthusiastic (or at least look/act the part...) and train them on high level hotel/resort customer service. if they do that,i think they can get the prices consistently they are seeking. finally, i would say the stretch of beach they have is pretty nice. i think they should invest in some water "toys" for families and individuals: tubes, snorkel stuff, sand toys etc. i did not see any of this type of stuff. oh, and i forgot to mention the food, it was very good. they give you two meals a day, for the price i paid, i thought it was a bargain! if i had paid the prices they really want, then, i would say it was just good."
