"I travelled in groups. On Lebaran holiday, we decide to go to Malang. At first, i intended to book a nice hotel. But, they're all booked. One of my friends asked me to find a hotel via Agoda. After few clicks, i found The Grand Palace. The hotel and room kinda looks old in pictures. Afraid didn't get the room, i choose it without any consideration. Arrived at the hotel.. I think it didn't look as bad as in the picture. The staffs there are friendly and polite. Everything's good. After all, we only used the hotel to put our things and sleep. I think when i visited again, i probably will stay at The Grand Palace again."

"Love, Love, Love this hotel. Designed and decorated in a classic old style with superior service at all levels. Built by someone who really cares about Asian history, the property is like a museum with antiques and paintings all through the property - get a tour it's quite fascinating. The room was so comfortable and clean. Service was great across the board, from front desk staff to the restaurant and the people who service the room. I spent five nights and felt sad to leave. Breakfast was one of the best ever - so many high quality options I didn't even know where to start. One morning I had an early start to see Mt. Bromo and they packed a box for me since I would have missed breakfast, such a nice touch. Afternoon tea was such a pleasant way to relax after a long day - great selection of teas and coffees along with local sweets. The restaurant is one of the best in town and dinner was wonderful. Amazing selection of food. I have nothing negative to say about the Tugu Malang. "

"We choose because this hotel is new, the fact only 5 minutes drive to go to down town and only spend about 30 minutes to tourist place at batu. All the staff are so friendly make you feel like at home. A couple things the hotel management need to improve such as pay attention to detail on cleanliness in hall way of corridor, more selection on the menu either restaurant or room service, facilities by the swimming pool such as providing towels, snack and drinks menus by the pool. Looking forward to seeing this hotel can finish their constructions so they deserve to rate them self as 4 stars hotel."

"the rooms are nice and clean.the decoration of the lobby is beautiful and pleasant looking. breakfastis excellent with varieties of food. the hotel stuff is friendly and helpful. a great convenience for out going for shopping by walking .there are shopping centres and restaurants around within walking distances.only that the walk inhotel price seems cheaper ."

"Booked the room for a night after my Mount Bromo tour, worth the price, Old property but well maintained, very good frontdesk staff, spacious room, and a good swimming pool, hot water facilities all the time and strategically located in a good place, walkable distance to restaurants, stores, parks "

"We stopped by in Malang to visit Mount Bromo. We walked from the train station, which was a little far, but we were too tired to deal with taxi drivers who target us because we're foreign female travelers. We arrived very early, so the hotel staff allowed us to sleep in the lobby. When we finally got to the room, it was a relief how clean it was. The place felt brand new! But two issues: the room is TINY and the sun hit the room directly so it was very hot. Not much we can do about the space, but thank goodness for thick curtains and strong AC. The hotel staff were very helpful about giving us advice on restaurants to visit and a good tour company for visiting Mount Bromo. Sadly, due to volcanic activity, we could not get close to Mount Bromo so keep that in mind if you visit Malang for Mount Bromo."
