The Idyllic Resort is one of the nicest hotels in Koh Lipe. The resort is located at the south end of Sunrise Beach, with one of the best snorkelling areas right in front. It is clean, modern and beautifully landscaped. The beach is fantastic with the longboats anchored nearby but not right is front of the resort. The staff is very friendly and overall the service is great. The restaurant offers a lovely breakfast buffet and a variety of a-la-carte options for lunch and dinner. The food is excellent. We stayed in the very large and quiet "I-Comfy" room (#501) and it was perfect!

Having stayed on Koh Lipe in 2008, we were a little unsure of what to expect as the island itself has had very mixed reviews over the past few years. It has definitely been developed a lot since we were last there but only as you would expect from a Thai island catering for the increasing volume of visitors wishing to find that island paradise, and paradise it still is. Serendipity resort is an absolute gem on the island. It has so much charm and is tucked away with its own little beach that only guests really use. Each room is essentially a beautiful wooden treehouse, staggered at varying levels on the side of a hill. The hilltop rooms are a fair few steps (approx 140) with the sea view rooms around 90 to 100 steps up. This definitely kept us fit! Breakfast is served on your balcony each morning which is a real treat! All the staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. We were moved to another room for 2 nights as the AC broke down, but a new part was ordered and promptly fitted within 48 hours, bearing in mind the electrician and parts have to come from the mainland. Another nice touch to Serendipity is that all the extras I'm sure many resorts charge for (Snorkel gear, kayaks, beach mats, games) are all included. Overall we had an amazing time staying here, and cannot wait to return when we can next afford it! Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful holiday. this was the best hotel on koh lipe. the beach was clean and just a few quiet longtail boats for hire always available. great beach just 80 footsteps down the stairs. the beach was really friendly to small kids, not even crowded at christmas! nice snorkling on several different locations just 10 minutes away with longtail. 10 minute walk to the main street of koh lipe, keep left at the rasta bar, and then right and then straight. free ride to town/main street every day and morning. the bungalow was awesome and had everything you could ever need, including hangmat on the porch. great place, will go back there if i'm going back to koh lipe.

We were a couple from Malaysia who booked Castaway at the beginning. However, due to the unpleasant stay which had a lot of mosquito for the first night, we planned to move out for Cabana for the second night stay. Rooms are clean but don't expect like those international 5 stars hotel. Staff was helpful to help us to move in from Castaway. Cons: The hotel is not huge as Castaway Resort. So it does not have Restaurant or Cafe for us to sit down to enjoy the view from the Koh Lipe Sunrise Sea. Therefore, we order our breakfast through a set of menu given by Cabana and staff will send over to our room. On top of that, we have our lunch at Castaway as the food is SUPERB! Would recommend Cabana if you just want to have a simple, nice and comfortable resort for your stay in Koh Lipe. :)

Hotel is not very friendly to young kid, but the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. I think most of the hotel in Koh Lipe have very low water pressure so do not expect hot water available all time, the toilet is big enough but no railing or hook for hang your clothing, the basin is not suitable for hotel, the room lack of power point, we have to use one power point to share for 2 person, take turn to charge hand phone, camera, laptop. Others then this, everything is fine n we really enjoy our trip there, kid love the hotel and like the staff there.

I found some crazy reviews before this booking. Please read my review if you have some concerns about the resort and island. Those negative reviews are unacceptable from my perspective. I feel very sorry who had hard times in this place and resort. Do not go to Koh Lipe Island if you have problems with nature. Mosquitos, flyers everywhere on the island. Island is very tiny so resorts have not big spaces and lands. You will also live in bungalow on tiny island so please stop complain about roster crowing, sea waves and other peoples walking or their talking. I am also very sorry and disappointed whoever brings trolley luggages. I saw 70 kgs trolley luggages who are trying to drag it on the beach. Dear traveller friends. You will have minimum 2 boat trips and minimum 2 car transfers until the island. Please show your mercy to your self and do not bring those luggages to the islands. Save and take care your back, thai speed ferry staff, hotel staff, Car and bus drivers. The hotel staff and island locals are amazing. They are all smiling and we found them very friendly. I also founded coldest beer in the town just right next to hotel on the beach. Vibe bar is coolest beach bar i've ever seen with dream catchers, lights and music. Magical atmosphere and stuff. Satun Dive Resort, located right on the beach with amazing location. Close everywhere. Yo do not need to wash your face. Just get out from resort and dive in. After reading the reviews for Zanom, I really expected various things to go wrong, but we ended up having a wonderful time. The resort, as said by others is rustic and people who are after a sterile environment should not stay there. Beach bungalows are lined up so that only the first one in the row overlooks the sea and the rest of beach bungalows are behind, so they only have a view of sandy front yard. There are also garden view bungalows in the next line. We booked a beach view bungalow via Agoda and given the resort had vacancies when we arrived, we got upgraded to the only sea view bungalow the resort holds and the resorts holds exclusive right of selling that one via their website only. The bungalow was just as it appeared in the photos I've seen on Agoda, for the beach bungalow. I read some people were saying there was no hot water in the shower. We had no problem, there was as much hot water as desired. The bathroom has a small unit on the wall, next to the shower, with a button, where people can adjust how hot they like their shower water to be and use it straight away. The problem might have arisen sometime in the past, or during dry season when the resort operates in the full capacity. My impression and recommendation is to visit this island during the wet season as we did, because there will much fewer visitors at the island (and still there are more visitors than, in for exaple Koh Samui or Koh Phi Phi in wet season) and everything would be available just like during dry season (although I also read that we would find a few restaurants only open during wet season, which is totally incorrect, everyone is working in the wet season as well). The main problem is that online weather forecasts for any island in Thailand, if looked at during wet season will show rain all the time, once you arrive to the destination, there is no rain, this was the case with us at Koh Lipe as well as last year in October with Koh Samui. I booked at kathalee initially for 4 night but ended adding a 5th one . This small resort is located at the very end of sunrise beach, and enjoys a beautiful quiet little creek. Most of koh lipe beaches are full of longtails boats so it’s really appreciated . Perfect place for snorkeling and kayaking or just laying on one of their sun beds . This hotel is run by a very nice thai woman , always friendly and helpful . I read here and there some bad comments about a German guy being in this place ,rude sometime and unfriendly . As for myself I met a very nice guy, from Germany also , very concerned about the coral reef and the damages that can be done by some tourist and even customers . Can’t believe it was the same person :)

My stay of 3 nights in Sea View Bungalow was fastastic! Firstly there is no tv, no hot water and no aircon but who needs all that when u choose to be Castaway! The view of the beach is enough to make u occupied, and theres a big fan on top of ur bed to keep u cool all night. The room is very clean and cozy. Not to mention theres 2 hammock hanging outside for u to laze around all day. I was also vey pleased with the staff. They were all very helpful, during my check in they even checked to see whether i have already arranged for a ferry back to Pak Bara. I paid sgd 200 for 3 nights with breakfast. Breakfast was just awesome, u have the option to choose up to 4 different course meal. I was there in sept 2015 so it was the low season hence Sunrise Beach is the cleanest. However if anyone plan to go during the peak period, Pattaya Beach is the cleanest(Castaway Resort is in Sunrise Beach). Oh not forgetting 3 key points! 1. They will cater free Long Tail boat to pontoon where u will take ur ferry to Pak Bara (this is just for ur check out day so if u r coming to Koh Lipe u still need to pay 50 baht to board the longtail, its not an option. Thats the only way to take u to your resort) 2. There is no wifi in your room. However there is wifi in the reception area. I was lucky to hav my room located near the reception area so i still get my wifi connection. 3. The resort is in Sunrise Beach. Be sure to wake up early and sit at the comfort of ur bed to catch the sunrise. Yes u dont have to leave ur bed to witness it. I promise it was breathtaking. **Many also was not informed that there is an additional charge of 20baht/person to enter Pak Bara jetty and another 50baht/person to board the longtail boat frm the pontoon to your resort. The ferry u board from Pak Bara will not take u direct to Koh Lipe, it will stop at a pontoon thats where u have to take the longtail boat.

Dear Ann! Now we stayed in your Oasis-Resort for the second time this year 2017. Second time in your resort – cause we like it so much! Your apartments are very clean and lovely decorated. It’s a special charme. We felt very comfortable in the big and yellow rooms with the bathroom partly under the open sky. What a great idea! In contrast to the other hotels and resorts on Koh Lipe, the enclosed terrain is very safe because you are always there. We were never afraid that something could be stolen - the best we could find on Koh Lipe! But what really appealed to us was your hospitality and your kindness. It felt like family. Thanks for all your help and support. Especially when we lost our luggage at the airport in Singapore. You took care of our luggage and then the luggage came directly to the resort. That was so great! We say you are a perfect chef and your resort is great and has good connections to the island. Also your husband is a very nice person and we look forward to see you and him soon … also to go for a snorkeling-trip on your boat :·) Kind regards to all of you! Greetings from Berlin! And for all who want to read an authentic review: Oasis Resort is 4-5 minutes walk from the beach. When you walk to the Oasis, you are away from the hustle and bustle of the village core of Koh Lipe (4 minutes to Walking Street). It is all very individually designed and it feels rather on a private grounds than a hotel complex. The laundry can be cleaned directly at Oasis. The rooms are cleaned every time as requested. The toilet with the shower are in relation to other accommodations very large, clean with beautiful mirror and sideboard. Whether air conditioning or fan - both were sufficient for us … Against the mosquitoes one can buy burnable spirals in the nearby 7Eleven shop. A place to sleep, rest, enjoy, let your soul dangle and a base where you can be easy. :·)

We stayed 4 nights at Salisa from Jan 16th, 2018 to Jan 20th. The resort is just what we were looking for, something quaint, quiet, and not commercialized. Our 3 person bungalow was clean and had an ocean view from our front porch. We ate several meals at the resort restaurant and the food was good. The Walking Street was very close. In my opinion, Sunrise Beach, where Salisa is located, is the best beach on Koh Lipe. Great views of the sunrise, several islands off shore (a couple you can swim or kayak to), and the white sand beach was never crowded. The water in front of the resort is mesmerizing shades of emerald and full of coral reefs full of corful fish. You can walk in between the reefs for several hundred yards out and still be in only waist/chest high water. Great snorkeling right from the Salisa beach front. We took an all day snorkeling trip in a longtail boat right from the beach. The snorkeling trip was awesome with seven different stops among the islands around Koh Lipe.

If we go back to Koh Lipe we will stay only at Andaman resort. (and Koh Adang isand) We travelled all 3 beaches and Sunrise beach is the best. Pattaya beach was terrible crowded and music all night and long tail boas all over hardly swim. Sunrise beach had same regarding long tail boats, but much quiter. BUT Andaman has prive beach no long tail boats, also close to the nice corals. Close to the walking street so yo can walk to eat there. We ere one of the garden bungallow , there was no hot water, but you can choose to upgrade other garden with hot water. If I return to Koh Lipe, I will stay only here.

It's the second time I'm in Kaixolipe. koh lipe is a very expensive island, it is not easy to find good prices if you want to be on the beach, this hotel has the best location, since it is on the most beautiful beach on the island, and they have some of the best prices, it has several types of bungalows, are wooden and very beautiful, are very well decorated, all rooms have a nice and large terrace, and then on the beach you have beautiful Balinese houses, where you can be in front of the sea, are only for customers .All this very clean nice bathrooms with hot water, the people who take it are very nice and always help you for everything. I recommend this hotel, it is the best of the island even very good price and in the best beach on the island

I booked this place because it was close to Sunrise Beach and also it was the most affordable air-conditioned room that accommodated 3 persons. However, when we arrived, our room was not ready and the caretaker (owner?) had to scramble to get the third "bed" ready which was really just a thin mattress on the floor. Fortunately, it also had a big queen sized bed. The room did not fit the description of having one bed and one bunk bed. It was clean and had the all-important AC because it can get very hot on the island. There is a water heater but it did not work. This didn't bother us as it is very hot there. There was no electric kettle for making coffee or tea and no hot water is provided (there is a flask outside which isn't refilled). The family that operates the place have their meals outside and the area isn't cleaned up daily which is an eye sore. Room is clean but the outside isn't. No room service and no change of towels or new mineral water provided daily (we stayed 3 nights). If you are a fussy traveller, you will want to avoid this place but we are not. So we may consider staying here again because for the same price of a shabby bamboo hut with no power by the beach, you get a clean comfortable room with AC.

Gipsy Resort is the best place to chill and it is the best location to enjoy sunrise and swimming... both of the owner of this resort are really friendly and helfull, and so are thier staff Maria & Am , it is not a 5 star resort yet it is a place where i got my 5 star treatment and location, it is woth the money, it is less then 3 minutes to the walking street , to find good bar and good restaurants there.. just to remind all of you, Koh Lipe is a small Island, if you need to shower,sometimes the water pressure can be a little bit slow..so just deal with it. I took 2 floor bungalow near the sea..and we dont get air-conditioned room but it is still enjoy place to staya and had a great sleep. I highly recommend this resort if you are looking for serinity and place to release your tention. and remember! start your day by having breakfast by the sea over looking the beautiful sunrise, atleast I did that every morning while im here!
