Nearly brand spanking new and within walking distance to down town Hoi An. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the large pool was a welcome respite after a sweaty day walking the streets. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to an 'Emerald Suite' on arrival (we had originally booked a river view room. The suite was very large and had the most amazing view of both the swimming pool and river. It also had one of this pod type chairs on the balcony which was great for relaxing. The resort itself had a large, well appointed restaurant (although admittedly we only used it for breakfast - which were buffet and delicious), it also had a small gym (which was more of a 'gym-ette' with just a sprinkling of small weights and two treadmills) and a day spa. The hotel was kind enough to arrange a tour to My Son for us as well as return airport (Danang) transfers and I would definitely recommend booking your tours through the hotel. Pros of the resort: the room was very large (50 sqm) and very modern. The bathroom was absolutely HUGE !! with both a separate bathtub and a large, powerful shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the reception staff spoke fluent English. The resort boasted lovely sunset views over the river and was only a 5-10 minute walk away from the main town area of Hoi An (which is a very lovely town). We never felt unsafe walking back, even at night but a taxi probably wouldn't cost much. It was also very quiet. There was also the opportunity to hire bikes directly opposite the hotel for about $3 a day and we cycled out to the nearest beach at Cua Dia (about 7km away).

It was excellent for alot of reasons: the location is perfect for everything Hoi An has to offer (which is alot); the Old Town is a beautiful 5 min walk away; the Pottery Village and Palm River coconut boat ride places are close and a super cheap taxi journey away (ask the staff). This place is so central. Oh and ofcourse it has a great semi-indoor swimming pool to chi...It was excellent for alot of reasons: the location is perfect for everything Hoi An has to offer (which is alot); the Old Town is a beautiful 5 min walk away; the Pottery Village and Palm River coconut boat ride places are close and a super cheap taxi journey away (ask the staff). This place is so central. Oh and ofcourse it has a great semi-indoor swimming pool to chill, drink prices are very very reasonable for a lazy poolside day... However the main thing that really stood out for us was the assistance of the staff. Inparticular the Operational Manager, MILE. Mile gave us all the inside tips and tricks for the area and even booked our sleeper bus to our next location, she gave us alot of advice. When I tried insistently to tip her, she refused and said she did it all from her heart. Thank you Mile and the whole team for making us so comfortable. And what a great place Hoi An is! I would say the stay at Little Hoi An was one of the best throughout our whole Vietnam trip, well maybe even better than any we had in Singapore. They had the best customer service, which me and my bf were really happy with. We were greeted with smiles and lots of useful information when we first checked in. The both of them were really helpful and went the extra miles to answer all of our needs, that really brightened our 3 nights stay there :) We had the deluxe room, though the view ain't that good, we thought that the room has a simple yet elegant decor. We were so satisfied with the room that we actually extended one more night to stay in Hoi An. The breakfast spread is not that large but definitely sufficient and really delicious. There's always staffs around to serve either bread, vietnamese crepe or iced coffee. Once again, we were overwhelmed by the awesome service rendered, really way better than what a typical 4 star hotel will offer. Lastly, the location is really awesome we thought, as we can always spend the evening walking from the romantic ancient town to our hotel. We enjoyed being near the locals, and yet able to enjoy the quiet moments with each other. Definitely going back to this hotel if we visit Hoi An in the future. Highly recommended!

my husband and i stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! it's in a great location within hoi an. the staff at reception are more than happy to help and referred us to some good tailors and shoe makers. the buffet breakfast in the mornings was the best we've had in vietnam so far - great variety, great quality. our room was lovely and very big....my husband and i stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! it's in a great location within hoi an. the staff at reception are more than happy to help and referred us to some good tailors and shoe makers. the buffet breakfast in the mornings was the best we've had in vietnam so far - great variety, great quality. our room was lovely and very big. the pool was so lovely after a busy day wandering the streets. the hotel also puts on a free sample of local vietnamese foods between 4:30 and 5:30pm each night and often this was enough to fill us up and we didn't need any furthe dinner. this is out in the gardens of the hotel and you watch the food being cooked in front of you. this hotel rates up there with some of the 5 star resorts i've stayed in while visiting other countries like phuket. we'll definitely be going back to hoi an and will stay at this resort again.

We had only one night here. It was my third time to Hoi An and I had always wanted to stay here. We had the room that the movie The Quiet American was filmed in and it did not disappoint! Stunning solid wood furniture, excellent location in the centre of the Old Town and typical Hoi An hospitality. That's typical of Nam though they are still a developing country and many people do not have the luxury of running water so no big deal to me.

You will have to walk beyond Old Town if you want a taxi at night, and even then it was hard to get one. Best to just stick to things within walking distance.

Then had some biking around the city and decided to back in the hotel for breakfast. The staff approached me and said "I need to tell you about your booking" then I stopped her because I don't wanna be disturbed in my eating. I said can you let me finish first? I'll talk to you later after I'm done with my breakfast. After that I went to reception and said what was that again about my reservation? The lady said I was in the wrong room. At first, I knew that it was gonna be a dispute. Then I was thinking if I'm going to fire-up or taking it calm. Then, politely I explained everything what happened yesterday. I was so impressed with reception for admitting their fault. She said it was not my fault and whether I pay it or not it is okay. It is just happened that I have no extra budget left and later I'll be traveling down south to Da Lat and back to Saigon in few days. I highly recommend this Golden River Hotel to everyone. The staff were great and the room is complete and comfortable. Plus I admire the value for customer service. Sometimes life is like a mirror what you showed to others will reflect back to you, so keep calm and drink Viet coffee (with ice and milk please!) 😉 Highly recommended to everyone visiting Hoi An.❤️

The staff were so kind and helpful. Each night they brought me a flask of hot water so that I could make tea [you need to request this though]. There's no breakfast at the hotel, but I went to the Hoi An Roastery Coffee House around the corner and down a bit, at 135 Tran Phu Street for perfect coffee and pastries in a very cool setting. The hotel is also very quiet at night, so there's no problem with sleeping. Ming and the rest of the staff booked my tours at very fair prices. I will absolutely stay here again - it's simple but a really nice base for exploring Hoi An ancient town and the tons of great cafes there, as well as the ancient temple complex of 'My Son', and it's only 10 minutes by motorbike taxi to the beach.
